I wouldn't get too excited over the prospect of Pearl Jam playing. According to their forum, there are VERY strong rumours of them playing Safeco Field in August...and if that's the case I WILL BE THERE! why the fuck would they play safeco? they would sell out centurylink in 3 days max The rumour is that they are playing baseball stadiums this summer (Chicago, Philly, Seattle and Boston). There will allegedly be two shows at each field. August 8 and 10 are the Seattle shows being thrown around.

I listened to this all day today. Great album! This is the first of his I have heard! I look forward to diving into his past albums. I listened to it all through work today as well I had never heard of him either and don't recognize his previous bands. Not sure what propelled me to buy it on Bandcamp but I'm glad I did.

I fucked up doing my list early. Picked up three albums over the holidays that definitely would have slipped in somewhere had I not overlooked them... Twin Peaks: The Return Soundtrack Phoebe Bridgers - Stranger in the AlpsKing Krule - The OozeI feel like I should have waited to do my list until February, if only because I completely failed at listening to metal this year. Adding: Couch Slut - Contempt Elder - Reflections of a Floating World and more to come I’m sure. I still need to listen to the new Converge. That Converge album is so great.

Peggy-O last night in Vancouver! That show, and setlist, was bananas. Once again The National blew me away. It was great seeing everyone there! Sorry I didn't run into you Blacksmile, you'd be surprised how many orange plaid shirts there are. I stopped approaching people after the third one hahaha. It was fucking amazing. We were in the balcony, which sucked because the floor looked bonkers while the rest of us sat. Beautiful setlist indeed! Great light show and so much energy. That was my first non festival National show and they did not disappoint. We had a great night in Vancouver. Drank a bunch of IPA and ate oysters like mad. Back in Calgary now. I miss it already.

On my way to Van to see The National. Hey Blacksmile, I'll be wearing a sweater with a bear on it. He has blue boxing gloves on because pre-show defensive crouch. Find me if you wanna hang later. Have a great show! Love the preshow defensive crouch! We just arrived. Having drinks at the Library Square. I will be wearing a yellow plaid shirt and jeans. Come say hi if you see me! We may come back to this place after the show. Have fun everyone!

The ever-elusive Blacksmile! Yep it'll be a boardie fest for sure. Too bad Fox had to sell his tickets I've met a few board members in the past (not you Pea unfortunately), but its pretty tough living in Calgary. I would dolphinately be down with trying to meet up for a bevvie after The National with anyone that's willing. We are staying close to the venue so walking distance isn't an issue. Let me know if anything gets planned and I'll run it past Mrs. Blacksmile!

Converge - The Dusk in Us This album is just so fucking good. I can't wait for their show with Sumac and Cult Leader in January. It'll be my first time seeing all three of them. That sounds great. Sumac fucking kill live. I haven't seen Converge yet though. They played Sled Island this year, but funny enough (based on the ongoing topic), I skipped Converge to go see EX EYE.

Adding: Ex Eye - Ex Eye I've got my working list of top albums just about formed, but as other year end lists start rolling out I'm sure I'm going to discover some goods that otherwise weren't even on my radar. Ex Eye is a prime example. Never even heard of this project before, but it's already climbing pretty high after only 24 hours of hearing it. It's being promoted to fans of Lightning Bolt and Battles, but I'd have to say fans of Swans should dolphinately check it out too. Swirling apocalyptic instrumental rock with avant-garde jazz saxophone throughout. Just brilliant stuff. The main guy behind the project has collaborated with Tom Waits, Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, Animal Collective, TV on the Radio, BADBADNOTGOOD, Feist, and others. Hell of a resume. This album is incredible and they are a force to be reckoned with live. See them if you have the chance. Also, please add: Converge - The Dusk in Us
