Well those same three names were my biggest disappointments of going to Sasquatch that year if it makes ya feel any better. It doesn't, but I appreciate the sentiment. I listened to the live broadcast of Guided by Voices and thought it sounded pretty awesome.

Hey now. No trash talking Bob Mould. I was one of the dozens who watched his Sasquatch set so I'm allowed Husker Don't jokes. One of my biggest disappointments of missing Sasquatch that year! Not to mention Guided by Voices and Archers of Loaf. Plus, I was only joking about the razzing of the albums. If something like that rattled me then I would have been gone a long fucking time ago.

What the fuck is "faceAIDS"? FaceAIDS is what my camp named my illness at Sasquatch, and its what I have now. Anyone remember how effing sick I was at sasq? It was gross. I had ear infections in both ears all weekend. lolskies. I'm a trooper. I kept saying I was going to go nap, but would shotgun beers instead. Apparently shotgunning beer doesn't cure a cold. Hopefully you didn't catch this from hugging Mangan's beard as often as you did!

Gaytheist - Stealth Beats (Thanks Bad Choices!!!) Dude! I fucking love that band. Stealth Beats is probably in my top three of the year. If they make it out to Calgary I will give you a heads up because they are really good live too I've only listened to it a couple of times but it sounds pretty great. Please do let me know if they head out this way and I will check em' out.

My 'stache is itchy as fuck and I hate it. I look like a windowless cargo van driving pornstar try hard. 12 days left!! You obviously don't rock a stache on a regular basis. Protip for the itchiness: hair conditioner. After a month or two it won't itch anymore, but in the meantime... Haha. No I don't rock the stache on a regular basis. If anything, I'd grow a big ass beard, but by wife hates facial hair and I'll respect that. I will take the conditioner advice though! Thanks.

How did da Grips treat ya? Uhm...Sorry to say, but it didn't grab me the way that I thought it would. It's a little beyond my realm, however, after a few listens over the weekend, "No Love" has broken into my Top Ten songs of the year.

Not sure if this style of music is anybody's thang on here that lives in Calgary but Sandrider is coming to your neck of the woods. The only reason that I mention it is because they are one of my favorite local bands in my area and I wanted to give them a shout out. They are best listened to at a high volume. Their live show is blistering. Last few times I saw them they opened for Red Fang and Russian Circles (they keep good company). It is at some place called Palomino on Friday, November 16 Here is a little write-up from someone in your neck of the woods beatroute.ca/2012/11/12/sandrider/Here is their bandcamp sandrider.bandcamp.com/Thanks for this. These guys sound pretty fucking awesome. Even though I can't go to the show on Friday I will keep Sandrider in my radar...and yes, Red Fang are great company to keep.

Has anybody listened to the soundgarden album yet? I'm afraid to. If it sucks I'm going to be all the sad. If you are expecting Badmotorfinger you will be, without a doubt, disappointed. If you like Superunknown and Down On The Upside, this album has some tastes from those two. The last three tracks are simply amazing. In a nutshell, its the best thing Chris Cornell has been a part of since pre-Audioslave and certainly the best mainstream rock album to be put out in a long time! I agree with this assessment 100%. I consider myself to be a serious Soundgarden fan and I was very skeptical at first, but as it turns out it's a pretty good album overall. I actually like it more than Down on the Upside and anything Audioslve put out. They killed it on Letterman as well earlier this week. Ben Shepherd's bass solo's sounded like demons rising from hell. ALSO, PLEASE UPDATE MY LIST:The Heavy - The Glorious DeadThe Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Meat and BoneThanks Pea!

NEIL YOUNG AND CRAZY HORSE MELTED MY FUCKING MIND LAST NIGHT IN CALGARY!!!!!
What an incredible performance. He opened with The Beatles' "A Day in the Life" blasting through the P.A. while the backdrop was uncovered (larger than life Fender Amps and a ridiculously large microphone!). From there, the entire place broke into "O' Canada" with the band on stage leading the song. GREAT OPENING!
He played a good batch of tunes from Psychedelic Pill and a smattering of Crazy Horse hits..."Love and Only Love", "Powderfinger", "Hey Hey, My My" and a scorching versions of "Cortez the Killer" and "Fuckin' Up". The true highlight though was when he cam back for the encore and did an electric version of "Helpless". It almost brought tears to my eyes.
"Walk Like a Giant" dissolved into a wall of feedback and distortion, simulating a massive thunderstorm while a sound byte from Woodstock played advising everyone to stay away from the towers. When the noise subsided, Neil played a solo version of "The Needle and the Damage Done". AMAZING.
I'm glad I finally had a chance to see this legend play. One more off of the bucket list.
