Fuck. Yes! My favorite headliners were 2008, but as a whole, 2010 is one of the best festival lineups I've encountered. Lollapalooza 2007 still takes first place though.

I hate myself everytime I go over to the Coachella message board. That place is the worst. Isn't it!! I'm not even going to Coachella, but I've gone in there a couple of times over the last few days (because that's what festival/music geeks do at lunch I guess) and it's a different beast than this message board. No one seems nice or accepting at all.

Yup. Fade is a great album indeed. From start to finish it's a gripping listen. "Ohm" blows my mind.

Agreed!! Not to mention that Boyd Crowder is one of the best TV villains in years. For me, he's on par with T-Bag from Prison Break. The villain you love to hate.

There were a couple of real bargains in there. I got that Lagwagon boxset from a local record store for $60 on boxing day, You must be a big Lagwagon fan. I have a strong feeling they will be on every festival lineup this year. You'll get to see them more than you want to. I am a big Lagwagon fan. They are one of the only punk bands from my youth that I have hung onto. Joey Cape is a great singer, and as a band, they are musically solid. Their live shows are a lot of fun and I would have no issues seeing them on a couple of lineups.

Holy shit was Django Unchained amazing. Christoph Waltz is one of the most enjoyable actors that Tarantino has ever had in his movies.
On the flipside, Texas Chainsaw 3D will easily be a contender for worst movie of 2013.

Californication and Justified have both recently started up again. Both are great shows for the most part.
Californicaion should be pretty good with Hank in rehab.

Last time Japandroids went to Squatch they cancelled, so any chance of them reappearing is good news to me! They played an unreal set in 2010 on the Wookie stage.

Reharding Thee Oh Sees: Neither, thus far...unfortunately! Coachella and Sled Island, so far. Lots of European and Australian fests as well. SLED ISLAND!!? FUCK YEAH!!!! Can you confirm other Sled Island acts in the Other Festivals thread for those of us in the Calgary region? Bob Mould, Grizzly Bear or Animal Collective perhaps?

I have never been to Josephine but I hear it is like Black Lodge. It is BYOB. The bands that are playing are on Good To Die Records. I have been a fan of everything on this label. They are all "heavy" bands. I have seen Rabbits, Monogamy Party and Brokaw before and am super stoked to see them again. Rabbits goodtodierecords.bandcamp.com/album/bites-ritesMonogamy Party monogamyparty.bandcamp.com/Brokaw brokaw.bandcamp.com/The guy that runs Good To Die Records used to do a blog under "Seattle Rock Guy". He has a passion for a certain style of music and loves the live show. If you go to the Josephine on Friday you are going to get some pretty heavy tunes and a killer show. That Brokaw sounded so fucking cool that I just bought there album. I love these bandcamp postings you do. I've found some great stuff based on your recommends.

While the discussion of BTBAM is still relatively fresh I'd just like to chime in and say that they're fucking amazing. I remember buying the Colors Live DVD when I was like 15 and watching that shit every day for like a month straight. Anyways, Sled Island just announced a presale for 2013. I'm assuming it'll be $150 again which is an incredible price for the best week of the year in Calgary. I think this might be the year that it really blows up. The lineups continue to get bigger/better and the festival gets a lot of positive press from fans, journalists, and musicians. It's impossible to speculate at this point but it's an awesome time and I hope all my fellow Calgarians attend! You're godamn right it's a good deal. $150 for 200+ bands! I'm there every year and 2013 will not be an exception. Being that I'm out for Sasquatch 2013 I will more than likely pick up the full week pass when they come available.
