I really can't fathom only eating 20g of carbs per day! I understand with this eventually your body fat will be used for energy, but 20g of carbs per day is such a small amount! But since you are working through this with your doctor it seems you'll be having the checkups to make sure everything is going okay, so as changes need to be made they will.
Some basic information for everyone...
I work as a diet tech in a hospital (not a registered dietitian) and for diabetics, we have them on either a 60 carb, 75 carb, or a 90 carb depending on the order and this is per meal. Most patients are on a 75 carb diet, occasionally we have the 60 carb diets and rarely do we have the 90 carb diets.
A 60 carb diet usually allows the patient to eat the entree (protein, veggies, carbs) and sometimes (depending on the entree) allows them to have a side salad and a sugar free pudding.
Fruits, just so everyone knows range anywhere from 15g (for half and apple or orange etc) to 40g. A banana typically has about 38g of carbs in it.

So when they come to Salt Lake, I'm going to go see them (show is 21+) and than I will go to a Starfucker show right after. (It will be a long night, but absolutely amazing!) What night is that? April 19th.

Can I just say 'What the Fuck?' to the Trailer Park Boys? haha my friend (mind you she is a mormon and doesn't like to watch rated "R" movies) loves, absolutely loves this show. It makes me laugh that she won't listen to Starfucker, because of their name, or watch the rated "r" movies, but she'll watch this show for hours and listen to bands that swear more times in an album than little miss sunshine. I just don't understand, I also do not understand the trailer park boys and her obsession with them (more like bubbles, and yes I know the characters name because she is that obsessed).

My first reaction was literally "I've seen so many of these bands live!" but than I really started looking at the lineup, and came to the realization how amazing it will be to see some of my favorites live with even more people who are favorites. I've never been to a festival before, but when Salt Lake puts on the free shows in the summers even though there are plenty of people who just show up for the show, putting everyone together makes it for such a fun environment.
I started analyzing things further and realized how many bands I hadn't seen live, especially the few bands from overseas I've been wanting to see live for years who never come to salt lake.
Did I get caught up in the hype of the rumored bands to be there this year? Yes, but I don't care now, I'm just stoked beyond belief that even though at the moment I'm not sure if any friends will be joining me this year, that I officially have a ticket for Sasquatch and it's about time because I've been itching to attend since 07.

I'm wondering why Young the Giant are listed as mainstage Monday. I realize they will probably be the first band playing but still, they are only playing a 200 capacity venue here next week That's probably one of the weakest slots. I'd rather be on the Yeti or Bigfoot than the first mainstage slot. Nobody's even there yet. yeah that would have to suck, especially playing a mainstage to not a lot of people

SLC is basically a sinkhole in terms of live music, a total blind spot on most tour managers' maps, because it is assumed that even in the unlikely event that a show sells out it's not like venue owners are going to be rakin' in the cash from drink sales. THE worst part about living in Utah is that any band worth a shit is going to steer clear of the place altogether. I think my point is clear. haha that and it's pretty easy for bands to not want to take a detour to play here on there way to/from Seattle.

To anyone seeing Deerhoof later this month (ahem, I'm looking at you Geno): Make sure to prepare to have your minds blown. And after your do, please come here to report about it so everybody on this board can believe my mad hypin'. I wish they were coming here... last time I saw them was 06 as I missed their show the last time they came through.

Stick--I think that despite most of those bands coming to Utah, you should at least try Sasquatch. Its a different experience getting to see the bands when you're camping and spending the whole day checking out bands. I'd say get the tix and enjoy the experience. And thanks for some of the recommendations. I'll be sure to give the newbies a listen I think I'd still give it a shot, I was telling one of my friends the nice thing about this is I wouldn't have to worry about conflicts and missing too many bands I want to see.

the fact most bands stop through Salt Lake. This right here proves how pitiful our lineup is. Yeah the only bands who I really want to see are some from Europe who have yet to stop through Salt Lake. As I mentioned in another post, most of these bands I have or will be (within the next couple of months) seeing in a 200 capacity venue

Seriously check out white denim if u love garage rock. They are simply amazing! Also same applies for the smith westerns. I'm hoping gauntlet hair gets added too! Not saying they aren't bad, but I've seen White Denim in a 200 capacity venue, and I'll be doing the same for Smith Westerns in a couple weeks.

I know I'm not saying anything new here, but I suppose I'll need time to let my definite opinion settle in. You'd think that because its the 10th ann, I'd have a "holy shit, that's awesome" reaction to the headliners or undercards. I am not overwhelmed by any announcement, though there are bands I am excited to see/see again. There's no surprises this year and to me, that's a tad disappointing. I think what I'm mostly excited about, however, is getting to learn about the new bands. I got to know a lot of the new bands before I went to Sasquatch last year and they've turned into some of my favorite bands--such as Phantogram. I was expecting a bit more too in terms of some off headliner. I was actually hoping for EITS to be there, but I knew that wasn't going to happen when Primevera had them. As for bands I haven't heard of on this list, it's pretty small. The Young Evils (listening now and they sound like the band from the Juno soundtrack/Best Coast) Rebecca Gates and The Consortium,Talkdemonic,White Arrows (jnot too bad actually, kind of remind me of Bear Hands),Axis of Awesome,Tig Notaro,Aloe Blacc Haven't decided if I want to purchase a ticket yet based on the fact most bands stop through Salt Lake.

I think they'd have to have other stages, it at least give people options instead of them paying for a festival and on the first afternoon they don't get a choice on who they want to see.
