Menomena added a show here in a couple weeks, and I won free tickets. I'm excited to see them again, although I'm curious to see how things will go without Brent.

I'm really bummed. I might not be able to get work off for Sasquatch. One of my coworkers (one who can cover my shifts) has her due date 5 days before. Another lady has had a European vacation planned since last summer and will be there from May until mid August (she is from Europe and has family thus the extended vacation) Than there are others who are requesting the weekend off for camping. I put my request in a couple months ago, but the two people who can cover my shifts are the ones who will not be here.
My boss is going to see what she can do, as she is going to need to get a temp worker to help cover shifts but right now there is no guarantee that I can go.

Yes, I am! I'm looking forward to it especially since Local Natives are opening! Yeah! It'll make up for AF bailing on Sasquatch, and it'll mean I can skip Local Natives at Sasquatch and see someone I haven't seen. Look for me there, I'm 6'7" and my picture's in the Boarders Revealed thread. Do you know when tickets go on sale? not sure when they go on sale, although I imagine within the next week or two. this is where you'll find them though for sale though smithstix.com/

I can't make it a good size. It's either too small to read, or it fucks with the formatting.. sorry I'm so glad that venues here don't use ticketmaster, I would hate having tobuy all my tickets through them. I got my sasquatch ticket today too!

Sambas rule, I've owned like four pairs. I wear Keens to Sasquatch, and I bring my Merrill hikers as well just in case. haha that's exactly what I was going to bring. Keen sandals are the best. I wore them in Europe last summer, and it was nice not having to worry about socks all the time.

I used to be ashamed of loving Justin Timberlake, but I am not anymore. I tried to fight his catchy rhythm but have not been able to. Also that kid can dance. I love JT, well his solo stuff, never really cared for Nsync

I don't believe in 'guilty pleasures'. I'm not ashamed of anything I listen to now, and I still listen to just about everything I ever enjoyed at any other point so I must not feel guilty about those either. The only band I think people should be ashamed of liking is Bright Eyes. That's how I feel too. For me bands have influences on certain points in my life, and listening to them is nostalgia for me.

I'm going to see The Naptional tonight in Brussels w/ Sharon Van Etten opening and I'll probably check out this free Gold Panda gig in Leuven on Thursday. Those'll probably be my last shows until Sasquatch. I saw The Walkmen in Brighton a couple of weeks ago, if I didn't mention that. Yeah boyeeeeee. So damn lucky. Report on Van Etten and Gold Panda, I'm interested in seeing both of them at Squatch. Sharon van Etten is playing here April 2nd, but there is another show I want to attend as well, and I'm not sure what show I want to go to yet. So a review of the show would be great!

My friend just compared Smith Westerns to Beulah. I fucking love Beulah, and I'm concerned this isn't a fair comparison. Thoughts? I wouldn't compare Smith Westerns to Beulah. I could see at certain parts where a comparison could be made, but I don't really see it. If anything. I'd say they are more like Girls, Wild Nothing, and even at times The Morning Benders bringing back the pop music from the 60's 70's.

I really do not understand the appeal of Best Coast... same they are playing here tomorrow night, and I have a few friends who want me to tag along, I don't think I would even if they paid for me.

I'm sorry but don't touch those droplets and don't ever eat only 500 calories a day. That's fucking ridiculously unhealthy for you. Last year I lost 20 pounds in about 2 months by doing good old fashioned exercising and cutting certain things out of my diet. This sums up my answer.
