I seriously love every single band that is confirmed/rumoured so far this year. So excited!
p.s. thanks for the update Dustin.

Morrissey will be out of the country, in the UK. Best to check Pollstar before making up things. Yuck. If I was making up the headliners, I could do a better job than that. Why the fuck would they have an entire day with just Tool playing? There is absolutely no point to doing that whatsoever. There is zero chance the festival will be 4 days. you can quote me on that.

With other festivals having such a hard time booking bands I kind of have a feeling it might go back to 2 days this year. I hope not though

there will be some cross over but don't expect that to mean we're getting McCartney or anything. Usually the mid-level bands are the ones that end up crossing over so I'd say it'd be good to bet on Franz, Band of Horses, yeah yeah yeahs, Tv on The Radio, etc. I'm scared and excited about this because often times the second listed band on the coachella lineup could be a headliner at sasquatch so it's possible we could get Thievery Corperation (uhg) or My Bloody Valentine (amazing). Anyway, the only thing to really get out of the Coachella announcement is who is touring festivals this summer. A festival like Bonnaroo is gonna have a lot more crossover because it's so much bigger. MBV and Franz are both playing European festivals within a couple days of Sasquatch

I suspect Sasquatch's headliners will be smaller than Coachella's, but better. I hope so, anyway. Agreed. I was waiting (and waiting and waiting and waiting) for the coachella lineup to see if it would be worth making the trip down. Friday is pretty amazing. Macca, Leonard Cohen, and Morrissey all in the same day is incredible. Who cares if they are old? Saturday is just bad (minus Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, TV on the Radio, MSTRKRFT, but I've already seen them all) If I hadn't seen The Cure last year at S'quatch I would probably go. But I'm thinking it's not worth it for one good day. There's usually at least 20 bands (usually not headliners) that play both Coachella and Sasquatch. Last year was a bit of an exception (only 10 repeats) I could see the following at the gorge: - Conor Oberst, the Black Keys (please), Silver Sun Pickups, Airbourne Toxic Event, M. Ward, Peanut Butter Wolf, Noah & the Whale, White Lies, Los Campesinos!, Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes (originally didn't think they would be there), Dr. Dog, Calexico (with Iron & Wine hopefully), Blitzen Trapper, Cloud Cult, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Peter Bjorn and John (obviously), Jenny Lewis, Lykke Li, Late of the Pier, K'naan, No Age, Vivian Girls, Friendly Fires, The Gaslight Anthem (no Seattle date on current tour)

hahah man what an epic night that was. i still thought ben harper was pretty great. but there was some douchebag beside me screaming "burn one down! play burn one down!" for the entire set. and of course ben and the criminals waited till the last song of the 3rd (or 4th) encore to fulfill the guy's wish. but the Flaming Lips show was one of the best I've ever seen.

Radiohead The Strokes My Morning Jacket The Hold Steady
I know that's 4, but I'm obviously going regardless...unless No Doubt, Green Day, and The Jonas Brother headline.

Hmm where to begin...
I think a lot of the problems had to do with the site. First of all, you couldn't camp with your car (I guess there wasn't room for 20,000 campers with cars). Parking was on an airfield which was probably a mile away. They had school buses transport festival-goers from the airport to the festival/camping site. There were not nearly enough buses and on the first day some people had to wait 4-5 hours to get on a bus.
The on site security was non-existent. I heard that most of the employees from the security company that was hired walked off the job on the first day. So when we arrived at the campsite there was no one directing people to set up their tents in rows, everyone just claimed a spot wherever there was room. The campsite was really close to the festival grounds, which was really nice, and we were allowed re-entry which was great. But like I said there was no security going in or out so naturally once everyone realized this people rushed to the liquor store in town to stock up. The campsite was a total gong-show and its a miracle no one died. Oh yeah, and the other ridiculous thing was that I think there were about 4 dumpsters on the entire campsite which all filled up in a matter of hours so people were basically forced to throw their garbage on the ground.
The only major problem in the festival was the dance tent. It had a fucking amazing lineup. The Crystal Method, Deadmau5, Chromeo, MSTRKRFT, Junkie XL, DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist, to name a few. However for some ridiculous reason they set the capacity of the tent at round 4,000 (at a 40 to 45 thousand person festival). So there was ALWAYS a gigantic lineup to get in and many people missed acts waiting in line. My friend and I were forced to hop 2 fences and sneak in to see MSTRKRFT, which was awesome btw.
Finally, the drive home was an absolute nightmare. Obviously almost everyone tried to leave at the same time and unfortunately that doesn't work so well on the narrow one-lane sea-to-sky highway. In addition, there was constantly construction being done which held thing up further. The trip there took about 3 hours, but going home we arrived 13.5 hours later.
Overall though I still had fun. Haha

Here are a few other names that may be touring around Sasquatch and are possibilities: - Chairlift (band with that annoying handstand ipod commercial song) - opening for Peter, Bjorn & John - Flosstradamus Sat 05/23/09 12th Annual ETD POP Festival Daly City CA - After some research I realized ETD POP is a big electronic festival near San Fran. So perhaps they could snag some of these acts for a dance tent(?) and from this site: www.windishagency.com/avails a bunch more possibilities.. - Cornelius - Dan Deacon - Dave Seaman (not really sasq. material, unless there is a dance tent) - Dirty Projectors - Fever Ray - Fujiya & Miyagi - Holy Fuck - Jose Gonzalez - King Khan & the Shrines - Lykki Li - Peanut Butter Wolf - Royksopp - The Field - The Sea and Cake

I think it's usually announced around the 3rd week of February, roughly. But with the craziness of the Coachella and Langerado lineup announcements this year who knows?
Well SM & the Jicks were there last year, but a Pavement reunion would be epic. That being said, if Coachella couldn't afford them, I highly doubt Sasquatch can.
I'm with everyone who supports Pearl Jam / KOL day. I'd say that would be feasible.
I dunno about some of these other comments..it's starting to sound like the Coachella board around here.

Canadians rock Ay. couple of gave me a free ticket to monday last year and for that I thank them and their whole country. How was Pemberton last year? I'd like to go this year if it's coming back.-- And Go Canucks! Looooooooungo! Pemberton won't be happening this year because Live Nation couldn't get permission to use the site in time to book bands. The festival took place on some apparently very potent potato farming land, so they have to get permission from the Agricultural Land Reserve to use the site. I believe they intend on bringing the festival back in 2010 though. Last year the music was great, but organizationally the festival was a complete and utter disaster.

like Bonnaroo!
I thought this was a very clever marketing strategy to get fans excited and talking about the lineup before it's released.
Here are the clues/riddles for Bonnaroo bands:
Clue #1: Peter Pan had a good roast before he was beat to a pulp, and the ocean spray from a westward bay invites you to take a big gulp.
Clue #2: Sun Ra said space is the place. Subtract Mr. Ra, the Arkestra too, add George Bailey and just a fraction of the universe of which a euro pop tart did zing.
Clue #3: Vermin at the hills brow are better than in the house.
Clue #4: Not Rockville bound, but near there; where it rocks and rolls.
Clue #5: When on stage, one star is missing.
Clue #6: You will actually find this clue in the analog world, not the digital one …in one of two jeans pockets where ladies venture not.
Please follow suit Mr. Zacks!
p.s. I think #2 is Sun Kil Moon

Costello and My Morning Jacket would be awesome. Guess that further heats the Kings of Leon rumour since they are listed. I don't have a good sense for the headliners at all so far this year. At this point I wouldn't be completely shocked to see KOL as a headliner, though I'm sure most would agree they are better suited as a sub-headliner. I agree that not having Coldplay or the Killers is a positive thing, but I would LOVE to see MMJ again. They only had a 45 minute festival slot when I saw them, which is not nearly long enough! As for those who say the complete lineup is already set in stone, I'd have to disagree. Probably most of the smaller local bands are set, as well as the headliners, but there are always changes in circumstances and a ton of middle tier bands who may not even have their tour schedules set yet for May.

www.sealedwithakisspresents.com/index.phpIf Animal Collective is playing in Vancouver the Sunday of Sasquatch, and playing shows in California the week after Sasquatch, does that make it more likely they play Sasquatch Saturday, or possibly Monday, a day that is yet confirmed. I'm guessing Saturday. Saw this today too. Gotta believe Animal Collective will be at Sasquatch. -Kings of Leon -Sun Kil Moon -Animal Collective -Peter, Bjorn & John -The Avett Brothers I'd say the lineup is shaping up most incredibly so far!

I watched it, but I didn't go to the premiere at Sasquatch. The first half is pretty boring, but it got pretty cool once the story progressed a little. I'm sure it would have been way more awesome to see in that tent with Wayne there, rather than in a university bar with like 15 people.

We heard from Abe Vigoda, personally, that they really want to play an outside venue overlooking a gorge on the westcoast. They could mean Sasquatch! They seem like they might fit The Warped Tour better, which is also at the gorge, but then again Bedouin Soundclash has played both! With all due respect, have you ever actually listened to Abe Vigoda? They would never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever play the warped tour. They are more in tune with bands like No Age or The Mae Shi, who are not Warped material. That being said, I hope they make it to Sasquatch! They are great live.

Weird. I never saw or heard anything about the late night Ozomatli set last year either. But I do recall that the final 2:30am screening of Christmas on Mars was cancelled, supposedly because it was past curfew.
