That's why its a "Somewhat Believable Lineup." Not very likely at all, but still plausible.
However, I agree PBJ and Iron&Wine would be mainstage. Iron&Wine was divine on the mainstage in 2006.

IMO, including bands like that would do the festival a lot more harm than help. Not that it needs help at all. Sasquatch consistently has great lineups, and tickets are considerably cheaper than comparable festivals, not to mention the Gorge is a good sell in itself.

While I am all for global internet peace and love, I still hope no one takes great offense if someone says their favorite band/artist is shit. As long as we keep the personal attacks to a minimum I think everyone will get along OK.
I'll try to say this as nicely as possible, but...can we please never ever call Sasquatch "Sassie" again? That'd be great! Thanks!

Well, this looks like a good enough thread to drop in on. I'm a Bonnaroo, (Inforoo) regular that is going to give Sasquatch a try this year. Not big on Jam bands, so not real interested in Phish being at Roo. Plus they raised prices in VIP, cut out the food, unless you want to pay 194.00 for six meals. The indy band selection is stellar and I'm hoping some of those crossover to Sasquatch. Everything I hear about Sasquatch is good, so can't wait to see a lineup. I'm from Minnesota and our 10KLF festival took a major crap, in my opinion with two nights of WSP. That being said, Sasquatch will be my only festival this year. One question, when can we expect to see a lineup? Um to actually answer your question.. The lineup usually comes out around the third week, or the end of February. I think the initial lineup was announced on Feb 25th last year. They usually announce a few additions a couple weeks later.

I'd say Nickel Eye is the only serious contender. The album just dropped a few days ago and he only has 2 weeks of tour dates so far.
Now to get things back on topic... IMO, the top contenders for headliners at this point are Kings of Leon, Nine Inch Nails, and Elvis Costello. Yes I realize these are very underwhelming, and are certainly not my personal choices, but those are just my best bets based on what I've read and heard. Luckily, I will almost definitely be wrong.
I am hoping Live Nation can snag My Bloody Valentine before they head to Primavera Sound.
p.s. Yet another reason to hate Pitchfork. They steal all these amazing bands for their "PFork Stage" at Primavera
Escenari Pitchfork: Bowerbirds, The Bug, Crystal Antlers, Crystal Stilts, The Mae Shi, Plants & Animals, Ponytail, The Tallest Man On Earth, Vivian Girls, Wavves.

"We're also pleased to report in USA "Good Days Bad Days" is the most added track on AAA Radio this week, we'll be back in North America this Summer." This is a quote from the Kaiser Chiefs who are NOT on the bill for Coachella or Bonnaroo. I think an appearance at Sasquatch is likely............ They played Coachella in 2007 and were awesome. Read this today too..I'd say they are likely. Not a big fan, but I'd still watch them. Probably put on an exciting show like The Hives.

I highly doubt the Strokes will be there. As much as I love em, they aren't exactly ideal for Sasquatch. Not to mention they are rumoured to be writing new material and recording this spring.
On the other hand, I would not be completely shocked to see one of their side projects: Little Joy (Fabrizio), Nickel Eye (Nikolai), or Albert Hammond Jr. solo. Here's hoping for Little Joy! If you haven't heard their self-titled debut, I highly recommend checking it out.

Couldn't disagree more (except about the Coachella board). If this was a serious concern, they could always make a 21+ or 18+ dance tent. Seemed to work at Pemberton. People often talk about how they like the diversity of music at Sasquatch (and music festivals in general). I certainly think dance music should at least be considered as an option for night time sets. The 19+ dance tent at Pemberton was a disaster. The line to get in was ridiculous. You basically had to miss 2 - 4 bands on the other stages because you were stuck in line waiting to get into the dance tent and even then there was no guarantee that enough people would leave to allow you inside. Haha if you read my post here you will see that I clearly agree with you. sasquatchfest.proboards41.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=141At the same time, I think the Pemberton dance tent demonstrated that 19+ dance music lovers are equally, if not more, immature and unintelligent than their younger counterparts.

I think dusty was implying that they probably wouldn't do a late night show because they play other shows the next 2 nights. I think we can all agree that they will almost definitely be there on Saturday.

Electronic/Dance music tend to draw a younger, less intelligent crowd, one thing that makes the Coachella board so unbearable. Couldn't disagree more (except about the Coachella board). That's a mighty ambitious lineup you have there. IMO, half of your Yeti and Wookie bands could play the mainstage. I would be ecstatic if even half of those bands show.

As far I know the MGMT rumour isn't anything but speculation. I do believe though that they intended to play last year but had to back out because of touring conflicts. Bonnaroo 2008 was kind of like MGMT's coming out party, so I figure maybe they just plan to do a couple of festival one-offs while working on new material. Again though, just speculation.

There's a festival in Liverpool - the Sound City Festival, which is around the same weekend as Sasquatch. Their Line-up is not out yet either, but it is far more likely that The Hold Steady will be playing there, rather than here in the Pacific NW, given their tour dates. www.liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk/Which sucks, btw The fact that they are playing Mountain Jam gives me some hope that they may be back in North America in time for Sasquatch. Not holding my breath though. 05/18 - Bournemouth, UK @ BIC 05/19 - Nottingham, UK @ Royal Centre 05/21 - Brixton, UK @ Academy 05/30 - Hunter Mountain, NY @ Mountain Jam

I have this strange hunch that we are gonna get elvis costello... I'm totally with you on that. We know Adam Zacks is a big fan from creeping his Facebook.

I thought MGMT would be back in the studio this year, but alas they are playing Bonnaroo. Since they were heavily rumoured to be at Sasquatch last year, and also canceled their performance at Pemberton, I think (and hope) that they will be there.
And yeah..what's up with everyone saying MGMT dance party? The vast majority of their catalogue is much more psychedelic/dream pop than dance music. Though they only really have 2 or 3 hit songs I still think they could be billed 3rd or 4th on the mainstage. I'd be interested to see how their music translates live.

Haha OK. $10 it is. At the very least gives us a clue as to the source of this rumour...

Why the fuck would they have an entire day with just Tool playing? There is absolutely no point to doing that whatsoever. There is zero chance the festival will be 4 days. you can quote me on that. I never said Tool would be playing an "entire day." I said they're the only ones playing on Friday. Why would they add a whole day of shows when most people will still be working? Tool's just playing a longer than usual set Friday night with nobody playing during the day. I understand what you meant, but still it doesn't make any sense. They won't add a whole day of shows on Friday, the festival starts on Saturday. Sorry but when you say that Morrissey is headlining you kind of lose all credibility.
