Not cool! I really want to see each of the top 5 bands on Saturday. What're the chances of them playing at the same time? My Morning Jacket / Vampire Weekend / The National / Deadmau5 / Broken Social Scene MMJ headlining, probably going to play against Deadmau5. Now the question is whether VW, The National, or BSS will be headlining the second stage... my money is on either The National or BSS. You're probably going to be faced with the following conflicts: MMJ v. Deadmau5 VW v. The National OR BSS And, partially MMJ v. The National/BSS. I gotta think VW, BSS, and The National will all be on the mainstage. Here's hoping OK Go headlines the second stage. Deadmau5 vs. MMJ would be a lot more painful if Deadmau5 hadn't played last year. I'm looking forward to seeing a real set from MMJ after that 40-minute joke of a time slot at Pemberton

@newjersey
Did I misunderstand or did you say somebody paid $132.50 for 2 tickets to see Girls? I saw Girls and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart for $12 (Canadian, so actually like $11!!!) at The Biltmore in Vancouver. Girls opened for Pains and they totally stole the show. Chris Owens looked pretty fucked up before their set, but man that dude leaves it all out on the stage.

One thing I always like to think about after the line up is announced is potential collaborations and/or covers, etc. There are a few that come to mind so far:
Kid Cudi with MGMT for "Pursuit of Happiness" Pavement and Quasi have lots of ties Jim James and M. Ward = one half of Monsters of Folk Members New Pornos, Tegan and Sara, or even Patrick Watson could hook up with BSS (btw lets hope BSS has the A+ lineup including Emily Haines and/or Feist) Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend could join The Very Best on "Warm heart of africa" Perhaps a bit of jamming between MMJ and the DBTs The National seem to collaborate with everyone. Members of Dirty Projectors perhaps?
That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure there are more possibilities out there.

The late-night set issue comes up every year and unfortunately I just don't think it's gonna happen. As far as I know there is some sort of noise curfew at the gorge. But I agree with cbatson, DJ sets are a possibility. Speaking of which, where is Chromeo on the line-up?

1. The Hold Steady 2. Broken Social Scene 3. LCD Soundsystem 4. Kid Cudi 5. The Tallest Man on Earth 6. Band of Horses 7. Simian Mobile Disco 8. Patrick Watson 9. No Age 10. Dirty Projectors
And that's only bands I haven't seen before. The National and MMJ are two of the best live bands I've ever seen. Also Deadmau5, Z-Trip, Girls, and Minus the Bear are highly highly recommended.

I like that I've only seen 14 of the acts before. The number has been much higher the past few years.

Agreed that the lack of Arcade Fire and Phoenix are a bit disappointing, but I'm sure everyone will be able to catch Arcade Fire later in the year anyways

I'm loving the line-up. Agreed conflicts are going to be a serious problem. Is it just me, or are there a lot less local bands than usual?

The dance tent line-up is incredible. I hope they got a bigger tent

I am fucking in love with this line-up so far. Broken Social Scene, The Hold Steady, Band of Horses, LCD Soundsystem. Four of my favourite bands that I've never seen.

RATM and Soundgarden = Audioslave? As long as we're throwing around bands made of other bands and whatnot. According to Alex Young at CoS (who has the lineup), Soundgarden won't be there. Sorry I know people are just excited, but some of these suggestions are getting ridiculous

Broken Bells, and as long as we're collecting mashups of other bands, let's throw in Admiral Radley, composed of former Grandaddy and Earlimart members. Wasn't the existence of that band basically announced today? Might be a bit of a stretch, but who knows...

also a few minutes ago they were talking about the sasquatch line-up announcement tomorrow morning on The End and then they played Broken Bells. Obviously it probably doesn't mean anything, but I just really hope they are there

Thought it was interesting that when people started throwing out names on CoS, Alex Young stated that most of the bands named weren't on the line-up, but he didn't mention Wale, Vampire Weekend, or Spoon. I expect the first 2 to be there, but Spoon would be a surprise

James Blunt? seriously?
I think MMJ is a possibility. I'd love to see them again. Perhaps the CoS 'Roo reference could mean some Neil Young? He would also qualify as a headliner not from the US, if Pavement is in fact not headlining. I still think he is an extreme long shot though
