SEVERE DIARRHEA > CAT GIFS > HOCKEY This would be an appropriate time a gif of diarrhea-stricken cat playing hockey.

What a great way to get your first NHL goal. Atta boy tanman. This is probably the best day to be on the squatch boards.

I hadn't even thought about My Bloody Valentine as a possible headliner. They're definitely a band that's always slipped under my radar mostly due to not having any new material since I was 7 years old back in 1991. This new record of theirs is brilliant. Yeah I'm digging it quite a bit. I'm holding out hope that they'll be on the lineup. As far as shitliner is concerned, I think Mumford is the probable reality of that scenario. And there seems to be a contingent here that don't like 'em but can appreciate their live show, so if what they say is true, I wouldn't really consider their appearance the worst possible outcome. I'm still amazed Pheonix are headlining Saturday night at Coachella by themselves. I knew they were popular but really...that popular?

As I understand it, The Avalanches album is done, in the can, good to go. The holdup is clearing samples. That's what I have been hearing since 2007. Seriously, it's not done and it's never coming out. but....but.... Pitchfork said.... Mumford and Sons (headliner) Neil Young (headliner) DeadMau5 (headliner) Sigur Ros (headliner) Primus Vampire Weekend The Yeah Yeah Yeahs The xx Imagine Dragons King Tuff MGMT Japandroids Waaves Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Grimes Beach House Youth Lagoon Flying Lotus/Captain Murphy (should count as one...right?) Titus Andronicus Earl Sweatshirt Father John Misty

Better yet, let's hope the rumblings are correct and the new Madvillain LP drops this year. Then we can get twice the disappointment!!!
Kinda sucks about your rap-life crisis there, drew. Maybe you're just waiting for that right artist to come along and sweep you off your feet? Or perhaps going cold turkey on all hop for a couple months/years would rekindle your passion.

They don't make em whiter or hipper than me, boys.
Besides, it's Sasquatch. As far as rap goes, it's gonna be either mainstream, Pitchfork approved or PNW bred (usually meaning Seattle.) I'm trying to play within the ballpark here.

In terms of hip hop, which has been slightly underrepresented in this thread, I'd say any and all of these would be fantastic, and a nice alternative to, say, Macklemore.
Shabazz Palaces - Squatch veterans, possibly dropping a new record this year...I attribute the low turnout to their 2012 set to bad scheduling (against Feist and Shearwater). They killed it though.
Death Grips - not much more needs to be said other than SPREADEAGLECROSSTHEBLOCK. One of the best live acts currently active.
Cities Aviv - one of the most innovative rappers out right now (ok i'll cool it with the superlatives), he's got that indie cred and toured with Death Grips. bangin live show.
Flying Lotus/Captain Murphy - both Until the Quiet Comes and Duality were fantastic, and generally well-received critically. instrumental set? rap set? both? please. Earl Sweatshirt - seems as though he'd fit the vibe, would draw a pretty sizeable crowd. probably would need to drop more material in the meantime though
Heems - DR had a great set last time they played Squatch, and although now broken up, Heems is still is making the circuit...I'd imagine that he'd light it up.
Schoolboy Q - Fun, popular, slightly obnoxious...it'd be a party.
Aesop Rock - was gonna throw him in the less realistic category, but he lives on the West Coast now...an underground vet, and still making excellent albums. Could even pair him with Kimya Dawson. Personally, this would probably cause my brain to implode.
Less realistic: Kendrick Lamar, Danny Brown, El-p, Killer Mike, Joey Bada$$/Pro Era crew, Action Bronson, Big K.R.I.T.
Even less so: Beastie Boys return with hologram MCA

I'd love to see Beach House at the Gorge again, and not just because of Victoria Legrand lookin' fierce in that leather jacket last year. (!) Also, speaking of possible returns, Waaves drop a new LP in the spring. It'd be nice to see them on the lineup, mostly because I forsake (forsook?) them in 2011 for having the absolute earliest time slot on Sunday morning. And I had bought a Four Loko for it and everything!! What's that? Don't I have anything better to do than jump from thread to thread, posting probably-insignificant tour information whilst wildly speculating? Well, no. No I do not.

I feel as though I'm mostly reiterating myself and repeating what others have said, but okay.
- Animal Collective, or one of their solo projects - Bad Brains - Primus - Titus Andronicus - King Tuff - Flying Lotus/Captain Murphy - Earl Sweatshirt - DEATHGRIPS - Christopher Owens - Torche - TV On The Radio
Some returning talent...Band of Horses, MGMT, in that vein...
Above all, I want more heavy. Gimme a decently heavy headliner (Queens, Pearl Jam) and I'll be sound as a pound.
also: Yukon Blonde

I'd say Grimes would be a logical choice for the Sunday late night slot that Feed Me had this year. She's certainly got enough buzz; peeps went batshit over Visions. Dave Grohl's confirmed he won't be touring with QotSA but also hinted at a new Them Crooked Vultures record in the near future so it all evens out.

Random (not so random?) headliner speculation. My Bloody Valentine. I would love this. They're playing Tokyo Rocks in May as well though...don't know if that would cause a conflict. The 2012 dates were 26th and 27th, while last.fm says next year it's the 11th and 12th...who knows.

I agree with prior positive sentiments concerning Mr. Sweatshirt, and would add that one should take into consideration his age. I mean, kid's 18, and he's putting out shit like that. That's just talent. Unrefined talent, perhaps, but talent nonetheless.
He was the best at the Odd Future schtick out of all of them (ignoring Bastard) and now he's going off their grid, developing his style. He's going to blow the fuck up in the next five years. Pretty much what cbats said.
Could be wishful thinking, but I definitely see him as Sasquatch material. Midday/evening at Bigfoot, even. One can hope. I'd prefer that over Frank Ocean.
Death Grips would be the ultimate, of course. That set would defs cause more than a few cases of heat exhaustion.

Personally, I start getting Squatch attacks (like a panic attack but with more excitement) fairly early on in the running, and a good way to relieve them is to post in here and fantasize wildly about any little shred of lineup speculation that has even the faintest whiff of credibility.
Ever since that Foo announcement in November. Threw my whole anticipation schedule out of whack.
juuuust sayin....

Well, so's long as we're rampantly speculating here...
Queens of the Stoneage are long due for their next album. Recording began in August, which means a possible Spring 2013 release...they've played the Gorge before with Cornell and Co. in 2011. Possible return to Loud Friday? This guy hopes so.
Speaking of Soundgarden, King Animal drops in November. They're PNW darlings, and would certainly give a performance bombastic enough to rival Foo Fighters'.
New Pearl Jam in 2013? People had them pinned for headlining this year, and again, a local favorite. Yup, really hoping for a Loud __day.
Band of Horses just released Mirage Rock, and MGMT is in the process of mixing their next one. 2010 2.0?
Unlikely: the Avalanches. If anything they'd do Coachella. But a man can dream. I'm liking the Daft Punk rumblings, too.
As far as hip hop, Macklemore/Lewis is probably the best one could hope for...unfortunately. I'd want Shabazz back, they slayed this year. It'd be really crazy if Kendrick Lamar came, but again, he's almost certainly going to be doing Coachella.
and so on

My biggest regret is probably missing most of tune-yards for the Shins, whom had the most underwhelming performance all weekend I found.
However, it did present me with one of the funniest moments of the weekend as well: as the random hang-glider guy tears through behind the mainstage during the Shins' set, the crowd erupts into cheers and applause, and James Mercer takes a step back, eyes to the floor, smug smile on his face with a little nod, thinking we're going nuts for him.
