As id you needed any more reason to be excited for St. Vincent, she's recently been crowdsurfing at her shows during "KROKODIL". www.youtube.com/watch?v=GydC3OtAqOsSo, maybe you wont even need to bring the tighty whites to her. She'll come to them. also: holy fuck is this really happening? is it already upon us? am i leaving in the early morning tomorrow? what do i do? i guess just let it happen. Happy Sasquatching everybody. Good luck, and enjoy the fuck out of it.

Any advice on the Beirut vs. Zola Jesus conflicts for those that have seen them live? I just saw Beirut and I'm going with Beirut. Probably will catch the first 20 minutes of Zola and then make a dash for the pit. One of few dashes I will be making; I don't like to dash. I'm no dasher either but I'll probably be sprinting alongside you here. I've been into ZJ longer than I've known about Beirut but the latter's live show is so widely acclaimed (videos reinforce this) I feel compelled to catch more of their set. Also, I'm not so sure Zola's sound will benefit from the meagre audio setup of the Yeti.

I love Shearwater. I am bummed that I will probably have to miss them but initially I was really excited they were on the lineup. For what? There's nothing that incredible going on simultaneously...is there? Feist is an amazing songwriter, and an even better performer. Shabazz Palaces are doing some of the most interesting things in rap today. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Shearwater, but that Monday evening is no easy decision... (And, apparently Felix Cartal is good, if that's your kinda thing) I'll join the left outers, incidentally...but not for long! (:

Hey Stingray, you know Mogwai is playing Vancouver Tuesday night, right? You will probably be too tired to make it to the Commodore by 9pm the day after Sasquatch, but it's an option. Shiiiiiit you're right; for some reason I had it in my head that they were playing Saturday or something. Although the prospect of transporting the lifeless pile of flesh that is my post-Squatch body anywhere besides a warm bed Tuesday night is very unappealing, that may turn out to be the best option. Especially since the likelihood of Beck touring again is pretty slim. But Burrito makes a good point. And am I ever going to be able to see Mogwai at the Gorge...? ah fuck it. It'll be a gametime decision. Thanks for the input fellas.

I'm really questioning whether or not to bug out of the first half hour of Beck for Mogwai's set.
On the one hand, Beck is Beck, and seeing as he's the closer it might be nice to catch his whole performance...who knows what he's gonna be playing, and I may not wanna miss any of it. On the other, Mogwai is Mogwai, and i'm really not missing much of Beck anyway...apparently their live sets are amazing, too.
I haven't seen either of them before. Decisions, decisions. Almost as bad as the Beirut/Zola Jesus crisis

Others got eliminated due to conflicts...oh well. Goddamn I'm stoked.

Kind of suprised there aren't more people upset about James Murphy/Bon Iver. Probably the worst conflict for me. Same here brothaman. I'm choked, but probably will lean in the Bon Iver direction. Go to the first half hour of Mr. Murphy's set and then go chill on the hill. But you never know. Friday: SO stoked I get to see both Explosions and Pretty Lights, and even a bit of Girl Talk. Gonna hafta miss most of Lanegan for STRFKR but oh well. Saturday: Pretty much no conflict for me, aside from Shins and St. Vincent. The Roots at night? Hell fucking yes. Definitely leaving Jack early to get a good spot for that. Sunday: the aforementioned BI/JM, plus possibly missing the first half of Beirut for Zola Jesus. Disappointing. Does anybody here have any experience with those two bands live? Monday: Worst conflict day. Shearwater/Feist/Shabazz...that's gonna be a game time decision. Awesome Tapes and Joy Formidable is a bummer but I'll probably go with the latter. Then Beck and Mogwai...fuck. I'll figure it out. Overall I'm pleased. This is gonna be spectacular.

If that doesn't get you excited, I dunno what will. Any lingering questions I had concerning the D's relevance have been subdued. That shit's gonna be amazing.

Fuck. Go ahead and make me feel worse about missing Live At Squampton, davers...though I suppose seeing him at le Gorge is a more than appropriate reimbursement.
I feel the EitS conflict is unavoidable. The late night set would be faaantastic but I feel that putting them up against the Main Stage party is more fitting and offers an alternative for folks not too keen on the aforementioned college kids and their glowsticks. Ohhh welll

As far as Mr. Murphy goes, it's less about him playing "the hits" and more about seeing him again. Just a stellar individual, and moreover a mastermind at creating good fuckin' times. Tis a shame he'll mostly likely run up against Bonny.
I don't necessarily agree with everything in that post, but I do agree with most of it, and I respect your chutzpah for putting it together.

Modest Mouse last year was my favourite set of the festival. I've seen them once before and it was a good time, but the energy, the song choice, the atmosphere, and just every little detail of that 2011 performance made it an unforgettable show.
As far as Beck goes, I was one of the ones who had never really ventured into his catalog prior to the lineup drop, but so far I'm very impressed. I imagine he'll play a pretty varied set, but here's hoping he'll pull a lot out of Odelay and Vultures.
Ideally, he'll channel that same shit MM did and just explode heads.

Only partial crudity, really. Quite awesome. Also, I'm definitely going to have to use the word crudity more often. Am I the only person on the board that doesn't care for Jack White? I respect the hell out of him and recognize his importance, but nothing he's ever done has really grabbed my undivided attention. That's exactly how I feel about Jack White. I'll still probably catch his set, because I know better than to pass on seeing a legitimate rock god at the Gorge. But I can count on one hand the number of songs he's written that do anything for me. This is me also. Definitely a master, without question, but I've just always been "meh" towards most of the White Strips/Raconteurs catalogue, and just plain don't like Dead Weather. Regardless I'll probably watch because, well, fuck. He's gonna put on a hell of a performance, and I'm probably going to be too drunk to do much else except stumble around on the hill yelling "aiYEEEE Icky THUMP" to every song. Meg White being there would make me have to re-evaluate my "I dont come to Sasquatch to masturbate" clause. Do the Sasquatch big screens effectively capture jiggle?

such a hassle, plus i dont trust the multitudes for drugs. last year my buds got some shittastic e that kept one guy up for 48 hours. word up to "Gremlin" tho, that guy had good shit.
ideally i'd take my own but fuck that risk. it's a pretty high likelihood you wont get caught bringin it over the border but it's still not worth it.

OMGTHEWORST Jack White and his awful redundant rock and roll songs. Pretty Lights and their stupid EDM that's not probably fun to dance too. Bon Iver and his/their unbearable songwriting lack of enough a-list material to headline a festival (although this should hopefully lead to the light at the end of the tunnel: their Bjorrito cover). Beck and his dumb being one of the most creative musicians in the past 2 decades 2 decades ago. I'm selling my tickets fucking stoked anyways, you guys. Fixed it up. The B-man has a point, but in the end, it don't matta. I have a feeling Beck and Jack White going to pull out all the fuckin stops to prove their worthiness as top-tier headliners. Bon Iver, while arguably not headliner material, will undoubtedly put on a sublime performance just because that is what they do, and with the Gorge as a backdrop they really can do no wrong. Pretty Lights, well....I'd only really be stoked on an EDM headliner if it was Daft Punk but fact is that shit'll be one helluva partay. And if his stage setup is awesomely wicked, all the better.

I was in that! That was such a good day. My first day ever at Sasquatch, and I became instantly hooked. Haha, same here. No better way to start your Sasquatch experience. Fuck was VW ever good....probably my favourite band to dance to.
