I actually just learned about this band about 2 weeks before the lineup was announced and have been playing Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space on repeat ever since. Seeing them on the lineup made me feel like one of the cool kids.
Also, I'm back, bitches.

How do you like UO? I'm attending next year as a freshman and I'm pretty stoked.

Oh man, that would be awesome in there were Postal Services at Squatch! I could send letters to all of my friends saying things like: "Oh hey! You'll never guess what I found at Sasquatch... POSTAL SERVICES!"

Nah, everyone up here finds her annoying, and I personally dislike the fact that she doesn't understand a lick of the Constitution. But most Alaskans dislike her for being a quitter.

It's not whether or not I consider myself an American, it really only matters that primary schools teach that we aren't "continental" Americans.
Thus, extra shipping fees.

I live in Alaska, so my hipstometer hasn't been calibrated to American standards.

I had a dream a few nights ago that I got to the Gorge on thursday, slept until monday night, and then went home depressed.
It was a terrible dream.

The 7M6M4 EP is so good, but even as a huge fan of Modest Mouse, I can't seem to get into the Fruit That Ate Itself. It has been a source of great shame.

Oh what's this? A dead horse? How fortunate that I have brought my beating log! Now I now that I am a baby-squatch and that being an 18 year old makes me a musical idiot, but I also believe that I am part of that "larger audience" that wompwomp mentioned. Yet, somehow, I still feel as though the 2011 lineup is... underwhelming when compared to the 2010 set (Modest Mouse excluded). NOW I SHALL POST LISTS! Bands I would've spazzed about last year (judging by high school age, moderately music literacy): Band of Horses Broken Social Scene Brother Ali Deadmau5Ed Sharpe Freelance WhalesFruit Bats Kid Cudi LCD SoundsystemLocal NativesMGMT Mumford and Sons MMJ Public EnemyShe & HimThe Hold Steady The Low Anthem The Mountain GoatsThe New Pornographers The Tallest Man On Earth The Temper TrapVampire Weekend WeenThat's 23, without the awesome comedians. Artists I'm SUPER PUMPED to see play this year (same criteria!): Foo Fighters Death Cab For Cutie Modest Mouse Wilco The Flaming Lips The Decemberists Bright Eyes Iron & Wine Rodrigo Y GabrielaBassnectar Flogging Molly Pink Martini Old 97’s RatatatWolf Parade Local Natives Matt & Kim Skrillex K-Os The Antlers Noah & The WhaleThat's 21. Now some of you are wondering, "Why, Skylar, did you chose to incorporate odd formatting as well as a smug looking hipster smiley face in your lists?" and for exactly that reason, I have included this key: BOLD FONT means that they are bands of decent prominence The Smug Hipster Smiley means that ALL the shitty little hipsters will/did fawn over this band. Now that we've established that, I have a list of results that I'd like to share: Sasquatch year | Bands I'm Interested In | Decent Renown | Hipster Shit Bands | Sasquatch 2010 | 23 | 17 | 8 | Sasquatch 2011 | 21 | 12 | 9 |
When presented with this evidence I think it is clear to see, if my musical tastes are to be trusted, that the lineups are, indeed, comparable from last year to this, and, therefore, if Adam Zacks is to maintain his credibility, he must impress the Sasquatch-going audience with improvements to the format of the festival itself! ...I'm sorry, I totally forgot my original point. Coding html-forum tables is a pain in the ass.

Woah, woah, woah. It's not like I lived under a rock for 17 years. I've definitely known about Chucks, I've just never OWNED a pair. That's a very important distinction.

I'm 17, but, being a lazy member of the tech-native generation, I really only buy myself slip on shoes. But recently I decided to man up and lace some damn shoes.

Just bought a new pair of Chuck Taylors on this thread's suggestion. They are possibly the most painful shoe to break in that I've ever worn.

And for that matter, everybody get his first album, "Impersonal" I will second this post. Every time I drive down to the local ski resort with my friends I make sure to show them a comedy album. We've gone through Aziz Ansari, Mike Birbiglia, Patton Oswalt, Eugene Mirman, Kyle Kinane, and then classic guys like Carlin, Black, Seinfeld... But the album that ALWAYS gets quoted and requested is Impersonal. That album is hilarious.
