Hopefully Gang Gang Dance finish up a new album and play some festivals next summer, including Sasquatch. They would be fantastic at sunset or late night.

That Empire of the Sun garbage is for people who got all pissed about 'Congratulations' being all differenty and just wanted to listen to 'Time to Pretend' and 'Kids' all day. If that guy pretends any harder that he is Wayne Coyne then he couldn't because he is already dressed and groomed and behaving exactly like Wayne Coyne. [pic removed for more concise thread] They're the Owl City of lame Hippie Lite bands. Quadruple fail

^^ I can understand that. I still love the first half of the album enough that it compensates for the second half (the weird/creepy part of the album). The live show was just very fun though and pretty mesmerizing. Unlike anything I have ever seen really.

After seeing them last week, I have to say Empire of the Sun late night show next year would be an absolute blast

Don't know much about Primus and Tool, but I do know that Tool headlined Bonnaroo 07. That's 80,000 people. Primus would probably play late night or a side stage at Bonnaroo. In fact they probably have before. I definitely believe Primus could headline Monday at Sasquatch. If Ween can, Primus can. Just probably won't happen on the 10th anniversary blowout that will be next year.

More towards the DJ w/ singing side of things, although there may have been some live instrumentation. Very danceable, great spirit/energy, a nice superconnection amongst the members of the crowd and the band just an amazing way to kick off the first evening of the festival, and a very pleasant surprise at how awesome of a set it was.

The Very Best
I really enjoy their recordings, but had no idea what to expect live. It ended up being one of my favorite sets of the weekend.

Dude, just sneak in your own booze and don't be too obvious about drinking it. Don't be too subtle, either, cuz when people do that they aren't actually that subtle. What I do every year is put gin in a plastic "water bottle" and glue the plastic ring back to the cap so it looks sealed. This is probably more trouble than is necessary since I've never had anyone check the seals on my water bottles, real or not, but at this point it's part of the tradition. Then I bring factory sealed bottles of tonic in, again with no issues. Duty free gin and tonics all weekend! Sounds good to me, but how do you get that jawn chilled?

(12am) (substances) (12:00am-6:00am)- String Cheese Incident, STS9 and some DJ Shadow!!!!! (what a way to end a night) -Seeing Bruce and Phish on the farm was insane, but all in all this was one of the better entire days I've had at a festival. Hells yes that STS9 set was fantastic. For cameras, there are a couple camera threads from the last couple years located here in this General Forum. Just scroll through the older thread titles. There are only six pages of threads here, so you should find them quickly. Getting a good camp spot in general is a complete crap shoot. You didn't get the best spots showing up early last year. You'll end up where you end up, so don't plan on getting a "great" spot. For getting through the gates, pay attention to the checkers before you enter is the only good advice. Otherwise, I can't share other secrets I know for fear that they no longer become secrets Cool, thanks

-Are there any awesome (secret) stage viewing spots that are easily overlooked by most people? -Are there any awesome food/beer spots that are easily overlooked by most people? -Any other solutions for sneaking booze into the festival grounds besides the old vodka in the "sealed" water bottle? -How thorough is the patdown at the gates. I realize it probably varies, so what has been the most thorough (i.e. pockets, waistband, cigarette packs checked) and least thorough (i.e. walk right through without even a bag check) you have experienced? -Anyone ever get a SLR camera into the venue? -In general camping, are some spots better than others. I'm assuming the best spots are close to the venue, and near (but not next to) the port a johns. Is there any other factors I'm not considering? How do I ensure getting a camping spot near the venue entrance? Would that just entail arriving early? -Has anyone found a way around the no reentry policy? I know there was some talk of Sasquatch allowing reentry this year for a small fee this year. Has that panned out? -Does anyone know a great, reasonably priced, awesome atmosphere restaurant in Seattle for my crew and I to eat delicious food (veg. friendly) and drink great beer/cocktails while we talk of the amazing festival we just experienced? Thanks very much

I saw SMD perform a live set. It was spectacular. They had this 5 foot tall sort of triangle of stacked keyboards/synths/crazy gear that i dont even know about in the middle of the stage that they would use to compose their original material live. Much different, I would think than using laptops and intertwining their original material with other music.
