MSTRFRFT just play a bunch of songs they like, with not much thought in the flow or build of the set. Sometimes they're awesome and sometimes they're comas. Sucks that I may have to miss Wilco, but I've seen them before and really want to see Major Lazer so I'm stoked on my options for Monday night. Major Lazer is so good live. You won't regret it.

my top 10 w/ explanation
1. Ratatat - Been a fan for a while but never seen them. Their style + penchant for remixes seems like they'll be a lot of fun live.
2. Major Lazer - one of the highlights of MFNW last year. Amazing dance party and they have a cool hype man that dances on a ladder
3. Bassnectar - I plan on consuming many drugs before this set. I've heard good things about this guy live. I hope it will be the equivalent of what deadmau5 was last year 4. Chromeo - moar dancing, albeit in a different style.
5. Death Cab for Cutie - been listening for a while but again, never seen live before. looking forward to a headliner whose tunes I'm fairly familiar with, good time to chill out. considering camping a good spot in the hill for them.
6. MSTRKRFT - recently got into them but I've know of girlsareshort for a while. they seem like they'll be perfect to light up the dance tent.
7. DFA 1979 - like MSTRKRFT, I'm just starting to listen to them but I dig, and being one of the heavier bands at Sasquatch I can't wait to get in on some mosh.
8. Iron & Wine - big fan, love the chill/soothing factor of his music.
9. !!! - I like how these guys can just jam it for extended periods of time. perfect style for a live/outdoor/festival setting.
10. Das Racist - worried since their live rep is less than stellar, but I'll check them out nonetheless. Shut up, Dude and Sit Down, Man were some of my favorite albums of 2010.

so stoked to see these guys, just wish they could play at night. It would be sweet if their set was late night Friday on the bigfoot stage.

I've never seen DR (though I love both of their mixtapes) but I've heard that they often get really loaded before performing and can therefore be pretty sloppy.

Vancouver downtown is dead/pointless since if you're looking for nightlife you'll take the 15 minute drive into Portland. I do have a friend who lives downtown but we only ever hang out at his house and if we go out it's to Portland.
I do enjoy Subway though

Whose idea was it to put two Vancouvers so close to each other, honestly? Really. At least they got it right with the Portlands. Does Vancouver, WA have a downtown? Sort of. It consists of a strip mall, a Les Schwab, a Denny's, a baby dinosaur, and a horse.[/quote] don't forget Subway

MFNW 10 was great, but so many bands I wanted to see were playing at the same time (missed out on Titus and Japandroids)
got to see Ted Leo, Major Lazer, Baroness, Sleep, Decemberists, Ceremony, and Nomeansno

I wish I could do Bonnaroo instead. If it wasn't such a long way away, and I had no commitments I would sell my Sasquatch tickets in a heartbeat. Just for Opeth. The Sword and Kylesa are a good reason to go too. Beats the hell out of DCFC and Wilco. Opeth is fucking horrible to see in a festival setting. "Hi we're Opeth! Here's a song!" .................. ....................... .................................. 15:54 minutes later "Ok so here is song #2! METUHHLLLLL!!!!" .......... .......................... ........................................ ......................................................... ................................................................... 18:32 minutes later "Well thanks for watching our set! WE ARE OPETH kbye!" I caught their 2005 sounds of the underground set in seattle, just 4 songs. granted they were awesome but it was so short and a pretty big bummer

Is squatchcreep really a scalper? Am I missing something here? I'm not a scalper. GM thinks he knows me since we have talked on a fucking message board. I even offered him as many tickets as he wanted for face value. And yet he still calls me a scalper.. Mostly because I stand up for people trying to make a living in our Capitalist Economy.. I don't have a problem with it unless it's illegal.. Bottom F-ing Line.. so scalping tickets is ok, but the guy selling weed/shrooms/lsd/peyote is a piece of shit?

I'm hoping for Melvins to be added to Friday night. With the rest of the bands that day it kinda makes sense

When the lineup first dropped I was a little disappointed at the lack of any big surprises, but now that I've had time to digest I'm generally pretty excited about it. Bassnectar was a huge get since Hangout is really close in proximity and I didn't imagine they'd fly him over, so that's pretty rad. Also have never seen Foo's, Death Cab, or Wilco before, but I do like their music, so that should be fun. Don't care for Bright Eyes. Never heard anything by the Flaming Lips (which I should probably amend) but I hear that they're great live. Stoke for Ratatat, Major Lazer, Skrillex, Iron & Wine, Das Racist, Chromeo, and Surfer Blood. I'll See Local Natives again if I get the chance. Also willing to Give Best Coast a chance even though I'm not huge about them. I saw Flogging Molly a couple of years ago at Warped and they were great, excited about them and Against Me! Also excited about DFA1979 and MSTRKRFT.
So yeah, overall I expect to have another great weekend. I'm just hoping the comedy lineup gets bolstered a little. The only name that really caught my eye was Trailer Park Boys. On last.fm, Sasquatch and Coachella were rated the top festivals for me in terms of % compatibility, with Coachella only being ahead by 4% (88 to 84).

I have to say - as a sasquatch noob (last year being my first time), Deadmau5 was a definite weekend highlight. I wasn't a huge fan of his music and still am not, but in that live setting with all of the lights it was just so much fun. In the same spirit I think Bassnectar will for sure be a weekend highlight this year.
and thanks/props to HG for the sound advice.
