I saw Local Natives last year by complete mistake. I was up front close to the stage waiting for what I thought would be Langhorne Slim, when instead these guys came out. Good show though, I'd see them again.

On another news...what the fuck is Titus Andronicus doing touring with Bright Eyes?! not a clue, but if it at all increases the possibility of them being a late addition I'm all for it.

Hey ebay do yourself a favor and don't try shrooms for the first time at a massive festival. Yr gonna want to do a dry run under more controlled circumstances. It's a $300 weekend, minimum. You don't know how your body is going to react (especially to shrooms, which more than any other substance have the potential to make you miserably fucking ill for many hours). I've heard this from a lot of my friends who have done shrooms too. They say the best setting for a first timer is usually somewhere quiet, maybe familiar, preferably ourdoors and with someone you trust who has done them before. Any ideas that you'd recommend personally?

I'm going to be on so many drugs and I will enjoy his music even more. I WILL FUCKING SEE HIS MUSIC I WILL BE SO HIGH. I've only gone as far as weed (have wanted to for a while but haven't really had too many good opportunities), but seeing Bassnectar would easily promt some mushrooms, or mdma, though from what I hear I'm more keen on trying shrooms.

If I end up going I will make it a point to be much higher for much longer than I was last year. Pace yourself, kiddos. Don't forget to hydrate, and don't forget to sleep. Everyone, please remember this. It's important. oh, no doubt. I think a lot of inexperienced smokers forget to drink a lot of water on long sessions. very important. last year I went to bed by like 2am every night, I felt like such an old person. And the only way I could fall asleep with so much commotion going on outside was to stone myself to sleep... it worked!

Haha, yeah what point am I trying to make? I bet they suck bozons. I really didn't like em before the review, and my opinion of pitchfork is usually pretty hit or miss, just commenting since they're obviously a huge/influential music journal.

I am going to get just ripped Friday night and wander around until perhaps DFA sounds like a good idea, but mainly stare at the Gorge. I will then get ripped for Iron and Wine and Bassnecter (who, yuck. But ripped, probably just PERFECT). JUST RIPPED (R-I-P-P-E-D) for The SOFT BULLETIN and Modest Mouse, and then Rrrrrrrr-ipped for Black Mountain and Rippeddy ripped to the point where my ass is fucking glued to the hill for Decemberists and Wilco. I will also see Robyn. I will also be ripped. This will justify all costs and I am looking forward to it and all you on the board before Feb 6, 2011. lol If I end up going I will make it a point to be much higher for much longer than I was last year.

I'm wondering why Young the Giant are listed as mainstage Monday. I realize they will probably be the first band playing but still, they are only playing a 200 capacity venue here next week they're being pushed pretty hard by the end in seattle and 94.7 in portland. I'm guessing the hope is that they grow in popularity in the next few months from being played on the radio also they must be planning on adding at least 2-3 more mainstage acts on friday. When they did a friday show in 06 there were 6 acts true, though they got ravaged by pitchfork.

I think my favorite thing on here is Bassnectar into Iron and Wine. Hahahahahahahaha.... Also Chromeo on the mainstage midday. I think Iron and wine close the Bigfoot, but Bassnectar does the late night set. So it should be switched around. by that same logic, do you think Ratatat will be the late night Bigfoot set on Sunday? I think Chromeo should get moved to a late night spot on Friday.

Pink fucking Martini... I just don't get it. Their target demographic is exactly who will not be as Sasquatch. I know they probably won't be on the mainstage, but still. oh they will absolutely play the mainstage. I'm terrified that whatever day wilco plays will also include rodrigo y gabriela and pink martini. also, you should really check out archers of loaf, the other bands you listed are not really worth looking into though now that I think of it, I was at Hollywood Bowl once for John Williams & the LA Philharmonic and saw a poster for Pink Martini, so I guess mainstage at the Gorge makes sense. And that makes me sad.

I admit to not being super indie, although I looked them up on last.fm and recognized some names in their similar artists. My rant was more directed toward Pink Martini.

Coachella's undercard is also much stronger with bands that Sasquatch could have easily afforded.
Pink fucking Martini... I just don't get it. Their target demographic is exactly who will not be as Sasquatch. I know they probably won't be on the mainstage, but still. I fail to see any logic behind that choice aside from maybe hoping to sell a bunch of single day tickets to middle aged people who otherwise have no reason to be there, and who have the disposable income to pay 80ish bucks for a drive into the middle of nowhere for one band. my money is that they play the same day as Sharon Jones so the old folks will have at least one more reason to go. I had never heard of Old 97's, Fitz and the Tantrums, Archers of Loaf, Jenny & Johnny, Stornoway, or pretty much anyone on the 2nd half of the poster aside from The Bronx, Das Racist, Noah and the Whale, Twin Shadow, City & Color, K-OS and Young the Giant.

The headliners at Coach and Roo may not be incredible, but come on. I'd rather be disappointed about Arcade Fire - who I fucking hate - than feel like I'm being condescended to when they try to pass Modest Mouse and DCFC off as headliners. I agree. sames goes to Kanye and KOL, of whom I'm not big fans of but would still see live if they were headlining. I know Coachella has a bigger budget, but the disparity in value between theirs and ours is startling. Especially considering every band on the first row/headlining has already done the festival before. pretty boring.

I'm still on the fence on buying tickets. I know I would have fun, but still, 300$ is a lot of dough. If they got 2 or 3 more solid subheadliners (like, for me it would be Black Keys and maybe Queens of the Stone age), I would go for sure. As of now I still need to think about it.

my feelings on the lineup are pretty mixed. on one hand, I really like a lot of the featured bands: Decemberists, Death Cab, Major Lazer, Bass Nectar, Ratatat, Iron & Wine, Flogging Molly, Against Me! (btw, I'm guessing that they're both on Friday behind Foo Fighters), !!!, and Das Racist. I haven't seen most of them either. I'm also excited to see some acts who I'm not really a huge fan of but can imagine would be good live (Wilco, Chromeo, MSTRKRFT, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, hell I'd even get really stoned and try out Best Coast). I also just started to listen to DFA and they're pretty neat, good band to get.
However, I'm disappointed by how underwhelming the headliners are. They're all solid bands (even though I don't particularly care for Modest Mouse or the Flaming Lips), but I really would have liked to see something a little more fresh and not a bunch of bands who have been labels as Sasquatch regulars. No Black Keys bums me out a lot. I know some people mentioned they had already played the PNW quite a bit in months past, but every show sold out and I'm sure quite a few people missed out.
However, the majority of the undercard is pretty meh. Like, I get Sharon Jones, she's getting big now. But fucking Pink Martini? Why did they feel the need to book a band who play lounge music primary appealing is to baby boomers? And I get Robyn is finally getting a lot of recognition, but she shouldn't be that high up.
Bright Eyes has never done anything for me.

In a surprise move, since they "broke up" the White Stripes are headlining Monday. And now my sources are all tapped out (unless I come across more *actual* information like last night) I read that a bit to quickly the first time and didn't really see the text in parenthesis. Just listened to Bassnectar for the first time and am now hoping he'll jet to Sasquatch even though considering his current schedule it's very unlikely.

if it's true that neither Arcade Fire nor Pixies will be there, I wonder if that would increase the likelihood of Daft Punk being a headliner at all. I get that its wishful thinking on most of our parts, although for a 10th anniversary festival and all I definitely do not think it's completely out of the question. Here's hoping!
also, fuck that I have to stay up till like 5 in the morning (assuming the first leaks will start to hit around midnight if I remember last year) to find out.

It's time to give up on the Radiohead pipe dream, everyone. Choose to be pleasantly surprised if they ARE there as opposed to bitterly disappointed when they aren't. I won't be bitterly disappointed unless Ben Harper headlines

Anyone else like the Builders and the Butchers? They would be great on the Yeti stage. As for likelihood of playing, they definitely are of the Sasquatch vibe and are from Portland, currently no dates planned in May as far as I know.
