I can't imagine how she feels right now. Probably better than our friend molly could ever make us feel.

I am so happy about that. I've paid a lot of attention to that story, which isn't typical of me. But I've just fucking known the whole time that not only did she not do it, but that eventually she would be acquitted of it.
Good day.

The difference in reactions to this case and Casey Anthony amuses me. Two cases with shitty evidence put forth by the prosecutotion yet in one instance the juryand defendant were vilified and the other portrays her as an American hero. I think both instances the justice system worked. If they wanted to put Anthony in jail then they could have but they reached beyond their means and failed.

Hah even Boise is having one. While I'm about as bleeding heart leftist as you can get, and I do truly detest wall street and the virtual oligarchy it has evolved into which has lead and lied our country to the point its at but shit like this generally serves only to hurt the cause. If anybody wants to get anything accomplished short of an armed insurrection, then it needs to be done on the terms of those who hold the reigns. A bunch of young adults dressing in costumes with no clear goal will only look silly.
I suppose I mean to say that I support the general idea behind it but its a bit "meh" to me as a whole.

Fairly surprised you guys and gals aren't discussing Occupy Wall Street Good point, I meant to put this on here a few days ago when I was talking to friends and only one of them had even heard of it. Until around last Thursday there wasnt really much coverage on it (at least that I saw) even though it had been going on for over 2 weeks. Kinda gives the whole conspiracy theory about Wall Street ruling everything some weight since media usually love stuff like this. I'm more or less with fig though. I agree with the overall sentiment of it, but unless they get a whole lot more organized I dont see anything coming of it.

Why are they protesting in Canada? We have one of the best and most respected banking systems in the world.
I donno, just seems kind of foolish to me. I understand people in the States are pissed off....but what are they going for with this?

I understand people in the States are pissed off....but what are they going for with this? Good point, but I think the lack of political choice, the state of social and arts programs, inflating tuitions and debts, and solidarity with our American brothers (who like it or not have a big say in how the Canadian economy is doing) are just a few of the reasons people will show up. Not to mention all of the native rights groups that will surely get involved and lump their issues in with the process. I'm undecided on the Vancouver event, because apparently my fellow citizens can't be trusted to have a brain and actually participate in peaceful protest. (or you know, actually protest for something when they're violent)

I understand people in the States are pissed off....but what are they going for with this? Because I am sick and tired. Period. These fucking rich as God people cry and whine about potentially having to pay higher taxes. I can hardly afford my rent each month and these people come out and taunt protesters by drinking champagne on the rooftop. I think it was really stated best here: That being said, I am not planning on attending. I can support solidarity and the cause, but I am not sure what good this will actually do. But I understand. People are mad, and with good cause. I have always felt like we were leaning towards some kind of social revolution... I guess we will see where this goes. I am so cynical at this point I think that is all I can do.

I understand the system is broken and something needs to change...but what is standing around on wall street going to do?
Pretty sure I don't see anyone picketing at the white house, aren't they who you should be pissed off at? They are the ones not taxing the rich, they are the ones who decided to de-regulate the banks that got you into this mess and they are the ones who have yet to throw someone from a bank in jail for robbing people blind.
This Elizabeth Warren is a senator right? I agree with her sentiment....but isn't she elected to fix problems like this?
