I think Phoenix has to be considered for the Monday night headliner, They have played almost every major festival in the world. They are big enough to headline( they co- headlined at lolla last year). They have never played Sasquatch. I could see hot chip or black keys leading in to them and who knows they might bring along their fellow robotic country men. i agree with everything you said here except the hot chip part (who are not even close to that famous). Phoenix would be a great monday headliner and I can't see them playing at any other position in the festival (maaaaaaybe as the sunday night semi double headliner but I doubt that). Black keys would probably sub-headline if they played (and I think they will) so if we go with Foo Fighters on Friday, and a band like Phoenix on Monday. The third headliner would probably band that has just recently started to headline festivals ( ie. MMJ, KOL) I was thinking of the following bands: Arcade Fire( obviously) Elbow( the are huge in europe but not sure if they would headline here maybe subheadlining, and they are touring in the spring) Sigur Ros, that would be a good get for sasquatch with a strong following,( they are rumored to play at Chile-polloza) The strokes ( new Album and tour) any other suggestions of bands that are touring that would fit the bill?

I looked up Nick Cave, no plans on touring next year, I don't think they would headline.
seems unlikely.
Chem brothers are in Florida in March and in South america in early April.
They are rumored to go to Coachella. I don't know if they would hang out stateside until the end of May
A possibility thou.

So no portis head, do you agree about Arcade Fire. That seems plausible, have been here 2 times, are now big enough to headline, they are touring, who would lead into them?

I have been following most of the threads but I start to comment more in January because the conversation starts to turns to the festival and becomes more interesting instead of 5 threads talking about growing up in Idaho.

So we are in agreement then on Monday.
I think QOTSA would make a great lead in to the Foos, and with the rumors of them touring together it makes sense.
From our educated guesses this is how the lineup looks so far.
Friday - wolf parade -QOTSA-Foo Fighters
Saturday-
Sunday-
Monday-Hot Chip-Black Keys-Phoenix.
Who do you think will be there on the other days?
It's got to something more that a wish list,
Foos, and wolf have been confirmed Queens have been rumored to tour with Foos Hot chip and phoenix fit Sasquatch "indie" label, plus they have played every major festival except Sasquatch. Black keys are rumored every year, they are touring and it has been a long time since they have been.
Let's see if this lineup is any thing lile the real one

I think they could sub headline or sub -sub headline, anyways , I would Take - hot chip into Black keys into Phoenix on Monday in a heart beat

If Daft Punk headlines Coachella and not Sasquatch I might just cry. Scratch that, I WILL cry. That is why I am going to coachella, I think there is a better chance that Daft Punk will be there.

Monklish may have some very limited sources, but she pretty much does the same thing CoS does - reads the boards and news. Every now and then she knows something nobody else does (The Cure). Rumor is that Neil Young refused to sub under the Killers because they suck, but will do it for AF. I would probably not sub for the killers and I have no musical talent.

Cool. Looking back on the previous years, I find Coachella always has a better lineup than ACL, Lollapalooza, and Bonaroo, so this year I'm committing early. I already have car camping purchased.
Yeah I rented a condo in palm springs, ( I know it's far) but my husband and I are going stay for a week. so we are ahead of the game too.
I agree with you that Coachella constantly has the best line-up except for lolla 2008, that was the best lineup ever for a festival, RATM and Radiohead as the headliners.
we had so much fun.

Neil Young and Arcade Fire are supposedly playing the same day! Haha, Don't tempt me...I used to keep up on past years Coachella rumors, and isn't Neil Young always rumored? I know what you mean, everybody has been rumored this year. Rolling stones U2 David Bowie( every Year) KOL Kanye West Outkast the Who But I heard it from more than one source that Neil Young will be there whether headlining or acoustic set. Monklish has a blog and supposedly she has sources in coachella, and that is what she was hearing, she gets about 70 to 80 % of the guesses right every year. Take that as you like but as I said, every year the headliners are leaked about a week earlier. If the NY into AC happens, I don't really care who else is there.

sorry I should have posted here: quote author=funnygrrl board=music thread=919 post=19007 time=1294109110] Looks like I picked a bad year to go to Coachella. Hey Gunther, I am going to Coachella this year, first time, Of course I will be at Sasquatch for the 6th straight year. Headliners for Coachella usually leak early, what I heard thru my many hours of searching the coachella message boards, Is that the headliners are. Neil young acoustic set leading into Arcade fire, Daft Punk Beastie Boys. but Again that is just the strongest rumor out there.
It looks like a totally plausible line-up.
Sasquatch usually has 8 headliners.
