Band of Horses is in LA on May 25th with Frightened Rabbit. Think we could see both of them this year since FR got cancelled last time due to the wind? Good catch. I could see that happening. I saw Band of Horses a week ago - they put on a great show!

Back to speculation though, how about Justice? They have a two month gap that includes April and May, and no US tour dates. I would be down to catch them late at night. Dollars to donuts, Justice will play Coachella. When Coachella announces its lineup and Justice announces corresponding tour dates, we'll get a better idea about if they're playing Sasquatch.

But seriously, we need to stop talking about him like he's going to be there. I'm starting to get my hopes up, even though the logical part of my brain knows there is slim to no chance he's actually playing. Haha, you started it!

In some ways, this board gives average Sasquatch attendees too much credit for knowing and appreciating artists who we consider to be big deals. Even Jack White (27 years younger than Robert Plant and 25 years younger than Tom Petty), a musician closer in age to most attendees, went unappreciated by many Sasquatch attendees. At the time of Sasquatch 2012's lineup announcement, Jack White only had one song (lead single to his debut solo album Blunderbuss, " Love Interruption") credited with his name. People in my Sasquatch group didn't understand how a guy with only one song could headline the festival... That said, I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the crowd for Robert Plant's headlining set. But maybe Madeon and SBTRKT just weren't that interesting.

vulfpeck just announced tour dates with a May 26th gig in Portland. They were in my top-3 shows of Bonnaroo last year, would be stoked if they played squatch vulfpeck.com/Good catch! I wouldn't have pegged them for Sasquatch, but those dates do make them seem likely. By my count, we're at three artists I feel comfortable calling "logical": Frank Ocean, Bonobo, and Vulfpeck. I'll wait a little longer before starting the Rumours/Confirmations thread.

I'm whittling down 258 albums (excluding compilations and reissues) from my 2016 folder right now. I should be done by June. Damn, I thought my 178 was a lot!

Rodriguez is playing in Portland on the 28th. Could see him playing. He's playing Seattle on May 30, so he probably won't play Sasquatch this year. EDIT: Professor Pancakes beat me to the punch.

Odesza would be caught jerking their wankers if they played those dates and then ignored the fact that they headline/sub-headline, less than 200 miles away from Seattle, within 6 months, at one of PNW's biggest festivals. Despite popularity I've never seen such a close gap in regards to a homegrown artist. Because of the money involved, music promoters and booking agencies take these distance and "time between shows" clauses very seriously. Would be plausible at best, if they had 1 or 2 nights booked at the paramount. Macklemore did a 3 night run at Key Arena in 2013 after headlining Sasquatch earlier in the year. I don't know the relative popularities or career trajectories of Macklemore and Odesza, but there's precedent for a homegrown artist having a well-attended local residency in the same year as headlining Sasquatch. I would cast doubt on Stevie Nick's, based purely on vibe to cost ratio! Key Arena swallows around 10K fans in one night too, another market clause like Odesza's should eliminate their chances. Though I will argue both would certainly be welcome on my 2017 lineup, it's just not looking fresh tomato yo. According to Wikipedia, Key Arena's end-stage (what I assume Stevie Nicks' setup is) capacity is 16,641. There are reasons not to think Stevie Nicks will play Sasquatch, but your vibe to cost ratio isn't one of them. If Robert Plant can do it, I think Stevie Nicks can. There's no indication she's touring after April 2, though, so I don't think it will happen.

ODESZA at Red Rocks on May 27th - can we call this one a win for Sasquatch? I've been expecting them to come back and headline since their last appearance. I was burnt last year thinking My Morning Jacket would play Sasquatch using the logic: Sasquatch veteran who plays Red Rocks Saturday and Sunday of Sasquatch could play Sasquatch Friday or Monday. Since Odesza plays Red Rocks the Saturday of Sasquatch (now only Friday through Sunday), I think that makes them less likely for Sasquatch because they don't have a travel day. Red Rocks and the Gorge are 17 hours apart from each other. Of course, planes and it could happen, but I currently do not think it will.

On their FB yesterday, Fleet Foxes mentioned they will be doing a full world tour in 2017-2018. They said they had received messages from fans planning to travel to see them in Ireland but revealed their plans to tour, saying "let the band come to you." A good sign for possible Squatch appearance! Robin said on Instagram, "so far - Australia in May, EU in July, US Aug, US October, EU November." Doesn't seem like a good sign for a possible Sasquatch appearance.

Selling out of Early Bird tickets seems like a good early sign for higher attendance next year. I don't think Early Bird tickets sold out last year.
That pinned tweet about Frank Ocean is now gone too. As far as I can tell, every post about him from Sasquatch has been deleted. I think this should be a bigger deal than we've made it.
