If you're 16 why wouldn't you just make mom and dad buy an early bird Bumbershoot ticket for half the cost and pocket that money for a crazy amount of mike's hard and molly when you see the same bands.

It would appear that Treefort in Boise has a pretty fantastically eclectic lineup, and the tickets are only $165 for 5 days?? (and most of the stages are 21+)!!!!! maybe there is hope. Thoughts on this lineup? www.treefortmusicfest.com/lineup/Treefort is an incredible festival. I dolphinately recommend it to anyone who is deciding not to do Sasquatch. Honestly, if you're missing that classic Sasquatch middle card, redirecting your money to Treefort and Capitol Hill Block Party wouldn't be a bad idea.

Was lurking because I didn't want to get my hopes up... and well...
I'll never forget the great memories I had, like in 2010, where I danced in the pit and the hills throughout LCD, Dirty Projectors and A-Trak, got dance-feuled heat exhaustion in the first 15 minutes of Simian Mobile and recovering at the bottom of the hill to the best show of my life that was Massive Attack. Two of the best sets I've ever seen were in one day. And that same year, running into the Japandroids and convincing them to come to my hometown in my birthday month (which they did and i wept which was only hidden by my sweat and the sweat of others in that pit).
Or catching Rodrigo y Gabriela in the sometimes blazingly sunny then cool rainy midafternoon and catching Rodrigo's pick when he threw it in the crowd.
Or how every year the dance tent had someone I thought I'd never see. Like in 2014, where I forced my best friends and a couple campsite neighbors to forego the beginning of Major Labor and just check out Gesaffelstein. Then by the end of his set, with the majority of us still deep in the tent, seeing a new campsite friend turn to me and said, "That was the craziest, best shit I've ever seen in my life." Dancing my mind away to chancey chance. Or in 2015 getting trapped in a bass tunnel where you could only hear your thoughts in the front middle for James Blake, with best friends and random crowd goers looking at one another and mouthing, "what the fuck!?"
Last year's Savages pit was beautiful, even though it was sparse behind it. The pits have always been good, from Segall projects, to King Tuff, to Japandroids.
Memorial weekend will feel weird this year, not being at the Gorge for the first time in 7 years. But fuck do I appreciate those 7 years.

Honestly I was hoping Baauer would play a little longer so I wouldn't have to decide between Big Grams or going back to camp early. Dance tent has seemed sparse the last two years. Terje and Tet + Caribou seems to make up for it though.

Also why the fuck am I getting an Internet and Julia Holter conflict? Why is Tycho playing just an hour? Why do we have to subject ourselves to Major Lazer? This is a bummer of a last year of Sasquatch.

Todd Terje's solo set will be better than anything you see on Saturday, at least.

You can infer that it is a solo set for Terje because it is only his name listed. Also Pitchfork has his performance listed as a solo set. Sorry, y'all.

Hung out with the dudes from Viet Cong a few weeks back, they're going to be on the lineup (with a new name, of course). Ooooh baby, thought my online reputation was at stake there.

Looking at what Coachella has turned into the last three years, the fast food delivery of Live Nation and AEG and the lineups of late I'm not sure if festival bubble is bursted or if I am getting too old for this.
Maybe I'll start going to more niche curated festivals but I'm tired of how insanely generic this all has gotten. The middle card this year is really good, but honestly festivals are now just backdrops for instagram and snapchat.

Massive Attack just dropped a new track, obviously getting ready to announce an American leg of their tour that includes a Saturday Sasquatch headlining spot I doubt Zacks has that $$$ and that they'd agree to wait this long (other international shows have been announced and most major US festivals have been announced so no chance of gag order). 2010 was the first time I went to Sasquatch. It was incredible in so many ways. One way was dancing so hard at Simian Mobile Disco's DJ Set that I had blurry vision and needed a nearly endless amount of water, which led me down to Massive Attack. I was going to see only half of their set but was blessed enough to see most of it. Sitting on that hill is one of my 3 favorite concerts of all time.

Savages will most definitely be a top 5 show. They feed off crowds so well.
