Very hyped on using my Sasquatch funds on FYF + Day for Night Even without knowing the DFN 2017 lineup I can pretty much guarantee you will have an insane time. Fantastic festival. I've heard nothing but great things and I poached one of those early bird tickets with my best friend. Every video I've watched has been mind blowing.

Friday actually looks pretty good for $100+. Hopefully Kaytranada would be the same time as The Head and The Heart?
still not going because i would feel weird going to a Sasquatch and leaving at the end of the night

That Tycho set last year was largely miserable and I was close enough in the pit to see the guitartist yell "FUCK" throughout it and have a horrible time. This dude with saucer eyes turned back to me and said, "He's so mean! Why is he so angry?" Maybe it was him being a perfectionist and not enjoying a hiccup, but watching that, seeing the contrived flower-child-bullshit surrounding me, it was a pretty bad time. I didn't notice any of that. Of course, there was really nothing that could bring me down at that point. After going from watching M83 from the side stage platform to wiling the fuck out at Vic Mensa to taking my shirt off and growing butterfly wings at the beginning of Major Lazer to finding Burrito and Goldbeard at Tycho, I was in the best possible mental state. It could have been 21 Poop Stains on the Bigfoot stage at that point and I still would have had a great time. I think M83 and Vic Mensa set my expectations too high to be honest. Those shows were un-fucking-real.

Zacks' radio silence is the saddest part for me at this point.

Had a thought that felt important enough to text my Sasquatch mates (so much that I spelt "your" wrong)

Are we operating under the assumption that the artist color is deciding the day they play? If so this is really concerning. That fear of falling asleep to The Head and The Heart and only waking up halfway through Frank's set.

If and when LCD comes out with their return album and go on tour, could they fill the Gorge like Arcade Fire did?

Right, but every year is better dating back to 09 in terms of the dance tent. I was gifted a ticket to What the Festival last year and Bonobo was fucking amazing. If you're going to that set, it will be everything you can imagine. Oh shit! I almost forgot about What the Fest. Might have to hit it this year to cope with the lackluster Sasquatch lineup. Now I just gotta Dr. Garbanzoure out how to pay for it... I have a hate-love feeling with WTF. People there were amazing and sweet in comparison to the encroaching frat-iness of the Gorge GA of late. Food was spectacular and the art was well worth walking through. There was a lot of generic deep-house and trap throughout the lineup with amazing sets by Lunice, Thievery Corp and Bonobo. The sound from the stages are only meh, and for some reason they have the two biggest stages facing each other in the middle field and they generally play at the exact same fucking time. Plus tickets are now more spendy. I did enjoy it all in all though.

Free Wind! should be the third headliner this year.

This was a year that we could have used Decibel Festival more than ever. Even over a year, how could you compare late night/dance tent options of Kaytranada, Big Gigantic, Mount Kimbie (Though I do love 'em) to Todd Terje, Caribou, Four Tet and Jamie XX? I'm sorry, Kaytranada is a great producer but a lousy DJ and Big Gigantic is ok I guess. Bonobo's set is going to be great, I already feel it. Last year was pretty unbeatable with the dance acts. Caribou, Jamie xx, and Four Tet back to back??? Todd Terje!!?? 4 of my favorite electronic artists and they all delivered. Right, but every year is better dating back to 09 in terms of the dance tent. I was gifted a ticket to What the Festival last year and Bonobo was fucking amazing. If you're going to that set, it will be everything you can imagine.

Regarding us being old and Squatch pandering to the high school demographic: I started going to Sasquatch when I was 15 and I am 30 now, so I don't know if I can really be mad at Snacks for appealing to the kids. Plus aren't his kids like 15 and 18 or something? I'm sure that has some influence. I'm still sad as hell, though. It dolphinately feels like it isn't for us anymore and it's causing me a bit of an existential crisis. Sasquatch is home. I had 13 beautiful, life-altering, magical Sasquatches and I will forever be grateful for that but I'm also feeling pretty lost. As someone in their mid 20s with friends that are 21, this lineup still blows if this supposed to be anything more than commercialized "indie" radio play and young millennial pandering. Frank and Chance are great gets. The "nostalgia" on this lineup is still relevant to the playlists 15-20 yr olds would find on Spotify's approved indie playlist with acts like The Shins and MGMT. Look at Foxygen's placement in 2014's cancelled lineup (fresh off their darling debut album) to their placement now after a lackluster second album and cancelled shows. The Hotelier will likely be as empty as Baroness was, sadly. Hope Forever 21 starts playing American Football, because I don't know who loves those other acts and 90s reinvigorated emo.

Anyone know if Levitation Austin is happening this year? Didn't they cancel it last year due to weather? Now Levitation always has a killer lineup that caters to its fans! "LEVITATION will be back in 2018." per their website

Holy shit that Day For Night lineup! I just looked at it for the first time, and that's easily my favorite lineup I've seen this festival season. Granted, it's last years, but that combination of art instillations and that music lineup is astounding. Has me wholly optimistic in a solid lineup.

Bummer FYF moved their dates so I have to choose between that and CHBP, but can gladly confirm I'll be doing something along the lines of Treefort, FYF and Day For Night with my buds that have been going to Sasquatch the last 5 years. Sucks that it won't be in my state's backyard, but outside of the airfare/housing in Houston, we're looking at virtually the same price as Sasquatch + Camping, with Day For Night's $116 early bird price for 6-9 days of music (dunno how much work I can get off for Treefort). Plus I'll get to shower daily, so that sounds sweet.
