It's not that the last day is Monday that makes those tickets less valuable, per se. Last year it was Erika Badu and Ben Harper closing the stage and I think people just didn't give a shit - I would have seen Gogol Bordello, Silversun Pickups, Fleet Foxes, Explosions in the Sky and bailed, skipping the headliners entirely - and I'm sure others had less diverse tastes and were less willing to part with cash in that regard. Given the lineup the other days I'm sure they attracted more of a mainstream alt-rock crowd, with KoL, YYY, NIN and Jane's Addiction

This thread topic is a bummer anyway, let's head way off track and stay there. I ignored Drive-By Truckers until about four days ago because I thought they were shitty "alt-country but not in a good way" boring "rockers." Turns out they are god damn great. Hahaha I could have told you how wrong you were. Ah well, really excited for the new album. Now, for my money, Bonnaroo is the better festival. I don't give a crap about Dave Matthews Band, and some of the other high tier acts aren't my thing, but a majority of the bands I really want to see at Sasquatch are either playing there, or playing another show close enough that I can go see them - Bonnaroo busted out a ton of bands that I really like who either aren't coming to this area or aren't touring at all right now, and it seems more of a good fit for me. (and just for those curious, amongst the bands I want to see there are Phoenix, Dead Weather, Rise Against, Isis, Gaslight Anthem, They Might Be Giants, Kings of Leon (I didn't go to Sasquatch last year) and the Flaming Lips. Might even go see Tori Amos and Stevie Wonder, cuz I mean, why the fuck not, right?)

Worst Sasquatch lineup ever. I'm excited to see MMJ, She and Him, Public Enemy, New Pornographers and Broken Social Scene. I'm not interested in a single band playing on Saturday and historically, that has always been my favorite day at sasquatch. Get the Red Hot Chili Peppers (hell they headlined the always terrible endfest a couple years ago, so don't pretend that is impossible). Good god, it took me days to get over how bad the lineup is. A large group of us had planned on going this year and now everybody bailed after this travesty. Always terrible? lol. I will grant you that the last 3 or so years have been sub par (although if you love the 90s, the whole Blink/Weezer combo this year probably rocked your socks...and who knows what the fuck they were doing in 08 randomly making it accoustic. Don't start me on the Pumpkins and "NO REALLY THIS ISN'T JANE'S ADDICTION!" (although the side stage was fun that year - a bit of a rehash of 14). But Endfest 15 was great - the Peppers, Mars Volta (until they got pissed on) and Wolfmother on the mainstage and the Eagles of Death Metal tore up the side stage (i didn't get there early enough to see more than that). And 14? Social D, Queens of the Stone Age, Interpol, Hot Hot Heat and Stereophonics, not to mention all the side stage action (Tegan and Sara!) and a ton of great local bands (Pretty Girls, Aqueduct, and the Lashes for example) and my favorite, even if it was in a shitty order, 13. PotUSA, Violent Femmes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Metric, Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Harvey Danger, Schoolyard Heroes, Super Deluxe - that lineup was insane. Do I need to continue? Anyway, station holiday and festival shows are very different from big festivals. Look at this lineup, and tell me that there's a single day's lineup that would fit in well on any given radio station, let alone The End (since you brought them up). Hell even the headliners are hard to peg in one station's profile. I think that you're most likely to see the Arcade Fire as an act that gets added to the mainstage, although not necessarily Saturday.

This is by far the worst sasquatch lineup yet. I've been to four sasquatch's. Massive attack? Ween? WTF! These are not headliners. I don't know if I would consider them subheadliners. MMJ plays stadiums and are big enough to warrant a top spot but the rest of that day is fairly weak. I bought my tickets back in November because I had faith in sasquatch and I'm very, very disappointed. My tix are going up on craigslist, and I know they won't be the only ones. I'd like to direct you to 2002, sir. String Cheese Incident, Ben Harper and Jack Johnson are better than this lineup? I do not think so. Also, they had The Postal Service headline in 2004. Then again, most of 2004 read like a northwest bands only festival.

They play at different times, chief. It's a bigger deal to close out the Wookie stage than open up the main stage. Welcome to your first Sasquatch. 2nd* and when did i imply they were playing at the same time, chief? He didn't say you did. He was just pointing out that time is sometimes (such as in this case) more important than stage. I'm more disappointed with the Long Winters time than I am their placement. Ah well

Also, the Long Winters also played right before Arcade Fire/Bjork the year they were headlining, I believe, so it's not unprecedented. I think Bad Brains played at 4 pm in the day the next day, which felt really weird.
Here's to hoping Nada Surf and Pavement conflict!

You're complaining about people being anal about threads after you told off someone for not posting to your liking.
And it is a duplicate thread. What do you think we do in the confirmation thread? Perhaps we post bands who are not playing, therefore making it the opposite of this? Hm.

It's hard to compare against years past in part because the band's current status shades some of your perception of them. For example, look at 2003. My Morning Jacket, The Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, and Death Cab for Cutie all played with Coldplay headlining. This was just one day, as the festival was only one day that year. Now, you'd expect any of those bands to headline (and some have/will).
But in 2003 Transatlanticism wasn't even out (DCFC). Good News For People Who Love Bad News (MM) wasn't out. In 2003, My Morning Jacket hadn't even put out It Still Moves. These were not big bands in that time.
(and the rest of that lineup was stacked too. I wish I was in town that summer!)
That being said, I do feel a bit underwhelmed by the headliners. I think part of it is the rumors (although I knew most of them couldn't be true or were unlikely) and part of it is my lack of investment in the bands headlining. I know that Pavement, Massive Attack, MMJ, etc. are great, but I just have very little familiarity with them and don't listen to their music like I do with other bands who were rumored, such as Pearl Jam. So on that level, I'm a bit let down.

This isn't a thread for speculating anything. Are any of these acts you all mentioned added to the line up or all you all just guessing? Stay on topic please. There isn't any topic to stay on, there haven't been any more bands announced. Also, there's a confirmations thread, I imagine when more bands do get added they'll be posted there.

He joined two years ago, and made this post two years ago. I guess no one else noticed that this is a thread pooped up from the way way dead?

...did they seriously give people even more time to buy discounted passes? That's kind of awesome.

I'm surprised that Civil Twilight and Arcade Fire didn't show up at all.
Looks like I'm going to TN this year.

Not at all impressed with the upper half of the lineup. They have some good bands but after the rumors it's a bit of a let down
