That Arcade Fire "the rest of our US tour" post makes me sad. I was really hoping they'd hit seattle again
(oddly enough, first time I saw them was Sasquatch right before Bjork)

So if indeed it's possible that Arcade Fire bailed last minute and things needed to be drastically switched around, I wonder what the chances are that DFA was a last minute addition to the lineup, maybe a little desperate begging on AZ's end. Afterall, their name wasn't on the original lineup list and Jesse didn't mention anything about DFA (only MSTRKRFT) playing the fest a few days earlier in that interview he gave. HMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!! This is possible, but the guy doing that interview was also told he couldn't ask about DFA.

Man, I bet they'll play Cochella too! Cuz they totally wouldn't announce a band the caliber of QOTSA at the announce of lineups.
If they do a date up here it'll either get announced next monday or won't be til June. Or both. either way, it ain't gonna be at sasquatch.

They're probably more heavily enforcing it for bands that Zacks thinks are big and would cause the festival to sell less. That, or we'll see a flurry of other northwest dates for bands once this sucker sells out (end of feb wouldn't surprise me a bit).

I gotta be completely honest, there's only about five bands that I'm really missing from Primavera that aren't on Sasquatch - everyone else I've seen recently or will see in the near future (then again, maybe I just don't like the cool music, who knows) Really? Off the top of my head...Pulp, AC, Walkmen, PJ Harvey, Sufjan, Ariel Pink, Belle and Sebastian, Simian Mobile Disco, Fleet Foxes, DJ Shadow, Grinderman...list goes on. Primavera is pretty much the perfect festival lineup in my eyes, and it's been that way for three or four years now. I honestly think Zacks should buy a jet and just shuffle some dudes across the pond. PJ, Sufjan, Mogwai and Mercury Rev were my big misses. I don't like Animal Collective, I've seen Fleet Foxes a ton, and I'm really not into DJ Shadow.

I think this lineup would be a lot different if Primavera didn't exist. Looking at that lineup again, I really think Sasquatch is suffering because Primavera has become one of the best festivals in the world. I gotta be completely honest, there's only about five bands that I'm really missing from Primavera that aren't on Sasquatch - everyone else I've seen recently or will see in the near future (then again, maybe I just don't like the cool music, who knows)

Honestly, if you want to go, buy them now. Even if they never sell out, why would you pay more later for what you can buy today (unless of course, money is tight). I bought mine already, and I know even if I don't go I'll be able to sell them to someone.

Only children and ignoramuses don't know who Guided By Voices are. Given how heavily they target casual radio listeners, the latter. Half the people who show up aren't gonna know bands that aren't played on The End (or whatever ClearChannel/Entercom station they have)

Anyone notice that when you actually click on a band on that lineup it says TBD for time? I think people need to CALM down! Or maybe don't and just spam the hell out of them until Chromeo is playing a late night set and GBV is playing later... Also, it's always possible that GBV will play at 3:00 so they can actually play a 2+ hour set. It doesn't usually work like that but who the fuck knows.. There are just too many variables. Don't jump off the bridge yet. As for me, I've never even been to the gorge, so pretty much anything is fine with me. Because they haven't planned exact set times/set changes etc. more than likely, not because they haven't figured out who's playing in what order.

They will add more bands for Friday right...? That can't be it... Right? Someone please reassure me. I'm betting. They'd fit right in before or after DFA

I want to see if I can put this in perspective for those who don't know. Pavement was probably a bigger headliner (minus Foo I guess, and I mean more in terms of draw than quality, so nobody jump on my ass about that) than any of the headliners this year. Last year, Pavement was billed LOWER than Guided By Voices at Matador's 21st birthday bash. I don't know if I can associate with a festival that does this. I feel even subheadlining would be insulting for GBV. Adam Zacks is taking a dump right on Guided By Voices chest. I'm starting to think he was just like "hmm... I hear that Guided By Voices is popular. Let's do that. We'll just stick 'em somewhere in the afternoon or something." I'm pretty sure that GBV had to sign the contract, so if they were insulted, they didn't have to. They agreed to play, and play that spot no less, so I'm sure they're ok with it. Hell, Pavement didn't headline last year either, really (even if they were the big 'draw' act). on another note, www.sasquatchfestival.com and sasquatchfestival.com resolve to different sites (the 2010/2011 respectively). That's odd. I hope Against Me! isn't playing at the same time as Foo Fighters or Death From Above, that'd suck (why the hell are they bothering with two stages for 3 bands each?)

I saw Modest Mouse two days before they played Bumbershoot in Spokane at the Knitting Factory which holds ~1500 people and they killed it. I believe it. I saw their show at the naval yard on lake union right before we were dead came out, and it's still the best MM I've ever seen

I'll be honest. I've seen all the headliners before (except Wilco), at main or submainstage spots even. But I've also seen all of Cochella's headliners in similar positions (that I care to, I can't stand Kanye) - let's not forget that KOL (not that yall were clammoring for em) did this before, Arcade Fire subbed for Bjork, etc.
Also, HG, hate to disappoint, but unless they've drastically changed since they headlined Bumbershoot, MM is not gonna be playing a set you'll like.

Why is DCFC billed so highly? They went to sasquatch in 2008 when their latest album just came out and still only had a sub-headliner slot..and it was a pretty damn boring show. I hope they dont headline this year. Yeah, and so was Modest Mouse. Behind The Cure and REM, respectively. I'd expect just about every headliner from last year to play second fiddle to those bands too. Plus DCFC has had 3 more years and another album (sometime this year) to get even bigger.

I think they'd have to have other stages, it at least give people options instead of them paying for a festival and on the first afternoon they don't get a choice on who they want to see. I might be mistaken, I didn't go, but the first year they had 3 days, wasn't day 1 mainstage only (that day being one that started in the early afternoon)?
