Speaking on festivals, I know there's a thread for this but Sled Island up here in Calgary landed FlyLo as the guest curator this year Pretty excited about this. I might try for a volunteer gig. I haven't been to Sled yet, but had tickets the flood year and still deeply regret not going 2015. Flylo should have some excellent picks! You should absolutely volunteer if you can! It's a great experience with some of the best people in Calgary. I've been going in some capacity since 2009 and I've had got a wristband every year since 2011. So many good memories!

One thing (among many other good things) I can say about Sasquatch is that in all my years of going I have never seen a single fight, not even a heated argument. You would think that with 20k+ drunk people pooping into each other for 3-4 days straight, some shit would pop off at some point, but nope. The level of overall positivity among the Squatch crowd is really unheard of in any other setting. Fucking Sasquatch magic, man. Until Pemberton 2015 I had never seen a fight at any of the 30+ festivals I've been to. A couple angry people at the big ones like Coachella but never actually throwing punches. Most festivals still draw great people, but the overly commercial ones seem to be more and more of an excuse for non festival people to just go and treat the grounds like a shitty night club for 4 days. The crowd at Pemberton 2015 was the worst I've ever been part of. 2014 was dope though.

I am awake, and now also listening to 45:33. It really is a fantastic record to start your day. Definitely! Haven't listened to it in quite a long time.

I'm trying to decipher if this is a request for information to hit you up or that he already did. If it's the belt sander...SPILL THE BEANS DAMMIT Haha no I want him to hit me up! I was under the impression based on my own research that the method was dead this year!

I feel like they hate Canadians... provinces aren't even an option Yes but our access to healthcare will never be repealed so it's a fair trade.

You're going to GNR!? That's unreal. All I have planned currently is Holy Fuck next weekend and then Brian Wilson in April. Haha. Not sure if your "unreal" means that you are excited for me to be going or shaming me. I'm totally sincere! Axl is a tool but their classic stuff is great. You'll have to shed a tear for me during November Rain.

Calgary sucks so much for shows right now. Yup. Only shows that I have on deck are Whitney in April and Elliott Brood in Bragg Creek next Saturday. AND...Guns n' Roses in Edmonton in August! You're going to GNR!? That's unreal. All I have planned currently is Holy Fuck next weekend and then Brian Wilson in April.

I haven't been nearly as involved in the speculation this year but it still makes me tingly (interpret that however you wish). I'm not sure if I'll be making it to the fest this year (even though it's been far too long), but you can be damn sure I'll still be participating in the lineup release shitshow.
Also, continuing to try similar methods of discovery as information used last year, but so far zero luck.

I'm going to Coachella!! Recommendations? I have a pretty nice list of who I want to see but I could always use more. I started writing all the people I like but the list was getting way too long so I'll just put my favorite undercard act for each day. Friday - Sam Gellaitry. I've been following this guy for a looong time and he just keeps getting better. He makes super clean and creative electronic music and I still haven't seen him live. soundcloud.com/samgellaitry/long-distanceSaturday - Swet Shop Boys or Ben UFO. Swet Shop Boys are a rap group from England (?) who actually remind me a lot of young Donald Glover/Childish Gambino with their funny raps and the fact that the main guy is mainly an actor. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4Yb8AWXgLIAs for Ben UFO, I don't think he actually makes music much but he's been tearing up the club scene in Europe big time as a experimental techno DJ. Should be a good taste of a club scene from another continent. soundcloud.com/resident-advisor/ra500-ben-ufoSunday - NAO. She cancelled on the Capitol Hill Block Party this year and I was super bummed. She makes this awesome synth-infused dance music that's super infectious and her voice is absolutely amazing, I really hope she plays Sasquatch this year. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDhQiie7AWYOkay I definitely have to check out Sam Gellaitry since you and emptyfox both mentioned him. Can't wait! I'm familiar with the rest that you mentioned. Super pumped for Ben UFO. His four hour Boiler Room set from a few years ago absolutely rips.

I'm going to Coachella!! Recommendations? I have a pretty nice list of who I want to see but I could always use more. What I would see: Friday - The XX, Father John Misty, Glass Animals, Phantogram, Little Dragon, Bonobo, DJ Shadow, Sam Gellaitry Saturday - Bon Iver, Nicolas Jaar, Röyksopp, Local Natives, Moderat, The Avalanches, Breakbot, Floating Points Sunday - Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Justice, New Order, Sasha, Hannah Wants Sweet, thanks! Definitely have quite a few of those on my personal list but I'll have to check out some of the others. Saturday is going to be an all day dance party.

Looks like the method that information used last year to get the scoop is a dead end this year.
