Hey guys. I'm back after a couple months of globetrotting. Decided to extend my travels and missed a bunch of Calgary shows but it was worth it! Trying to catch up on my listening now.

Calgary's X-FEST announced their line up this morning, and what a disappointment!!!
Ellie Goulding, Alexisonfire, Hozier, Tenacious D, Brandon Flowers, Mother Mother, TV on the Radio, Tokyo Police Club, the Rural Alberta Advantage, Kongos, St. Lucia, Big Data, Robert Delong, K-Os, Eagles of Death Metal, the Elwins and Gay Nineties.
Ellie Goulding and Alexisonfire are listed as the headliners. What a drop from last years headliners, Jack White and Arctic Monkeys.
Tenacious D, TV on the Radio and Eagles of Death Metal are nice touches, but not worth the $170+Tax that they are charging.
At least we still have Sled Island!
Hopefully they do single day passes again. If most of Alexisonfire, Tenacious D, TV on the Radio, Tokyo Police Club, Rural Alberta Advantage, or Eagles of Death Metal were on one day I would probably go.
Sled Island announced some of their schedule and individual show tickets. I'm gonna try to do:
Wednesday: Son Lux & Hundred Waters at Central United Church followed by Ben Frost & Loscil at Commonwealth. Thursday: Godspeed at Central United Church followed by Lightning Bolt at #1 Legion. Friday: Godspeed at Central United Church followed by Iceage at Dickens. Saturday: Television, Drive Like Jehu, Viet Cong, King Tuff, Ex Hex & Hypnotic Brass Ensemble at Olympic Plaza.
They claim that they still need to announce two headliners, and I assume these two will be playing Olympic Plaza on Friday. Hopefully there's more than one appearance by Obnox. Looking like he'll be up against Lightning Bolt.
EDIT: Swervedriver are very possibly playing Olympic Plaza on Friday as well
EDIT 2: East Village Block Party will probably be back on the Thursday as well. Last year they had Cashmere Cat, Jacques Greene, and Stwo so if it's a similar calibre of performers this year, I'll be going again.

I'm really liking how Sled Island is shaping up this year. I'm sure there will be conflicts (half the good stuff always seems to be on Wednesday) but I for sure want to try to see both GYBE shows, Television (probably playing Olympic Plaza?), Lightning Bolt, Drive Like Jehu, Swervedriver, Ben Frost, and Iceage. There's tons of other stuff that looks great if some of these don't work out though. Since both GYBE shows are at Central United Church, they should be a little earlier in the night. Last year I saw OPN there and it was over by like 9:45 if I remember correctly.
