I wonder how he feels about the new attention his twitter is going to get because he's responding to fans. You should ask him on Twitter.

Le Butcherettes just announced a new album out soon. Their web page is down. No tour dates that I know of. Le Butcherettes opened for the Lips at that September '11 show I was talking about. It was strange and awesome. DEAL WITH IT.

If The Flaming Lips are back this year, they best be comin' with some crazy surprises. Given Wayne's recent demise and engorgement with himself, I wouldn't be surprised if he threw a little hissy and did not return to Sasquatch after CakeGate 2011. My deepest and sincerest hope is that Wayne's split with his wife might actually provide some fresh, inspirational song writing. That's been the problem for the last several years, no real inspiration. Wayne spends way too much time begging the crowd to love him and inspire him these days, it's hard to stomach. That being said, the last Lips show I saw was in September '11 and there was some cool stuff happening with iphone apps/distortions/general Drozd Wizardry. There was one moment where this crazy crackling sound echoed around the entire arena in a circle and everyone kinda stopped and looked around for a second, confused and intrigued. I can't really describe it but it was intentional, very weird and super interesting. I'm hoping for more of that, more of the WEIRD, less of the WAYNE. Also, it is time for me to get on stage with the Lips, I can't fully be done with them until I make it on stage and I know Goldbeard is the perfect partner in crime for that sort of business. So, would I be pleased to see them on the lineup? Yes. But only if they've got some WEIRD SURPRISES up their sleeves.

'Emo' is mostly vocal affectation, and yeah, when last we saw Pinback like eight years ago almost (damn) that shit was hella emo. Dude's voice is super emo. I like the music but can't do the voice. Burrito used to give me shit for it, don't worry CHUD.

Bjork throwing some lyrical fuel on the fire with a Facebook update: "Unthinkable surprises about to happen..." I saw this. The last part of the post was kind of confusing. What does that mean? "It's not up to you." It never really was.

I still think The Postal Service will headline Sunday or Monday night How does a band headline with one album though? It would be the shortest headlining set in Sasquatch history unless Gibbard played some Death Cab songs too, or they dug deep and brought out some unreleased tracks. Burrito asked me earlier if I had ever seen The Postal Service live and I thought about it for a second (I'd seen Death Cab a bunch in the early 00's and in the later years they often covered "Such Great Heights") but ultimately decided that I hadn't ever seen them. Anyway, as time has passed my brain was all, waaait a minute- you HAVE seen The Postal Service! AT SASQUATCH, no less. I can hardly remember the show, which isn't a good sign but can also be attributed to my drug-addled brain/it was almost a decade ago. However, I'm pretty sure they were they were 3rd on the line-up, played just before The Roots, who were sub-headlining. I wasn't interested in the headliner that year and have since forgotten who it was. I do remember The Postal Service playing some cover songs, so if they were to headline this year, maybe they would fill the time with sa bunch of covers/remixes? Also, I wonder if Jenny Lewis will play with them for the reunion shows? She was there with them at Sasquatch '04.

Sasquatch is not set up in a way that you have to run to get a good spot for a headliner. The main stage is huge and there is tons of room. Even down in the pit if you are along the back there is room. Nobody said that they only watch the headliners but of course we care who they are. Additionally, Kanye and Prince have never been there but you would be a fool to miss them. It seems like you see a band more for your own reputation than because you want to see them. I love everything about this post but Kanye was actually at Sasquatch in 05 and it was amazing. Lots of talk about how amazing 2010's lineup was today (it was) but I think 05 was still the gold standard lineup. It was only one day and yet at least five of the bands that played that day could headline today. The never-ending Pixies set was unreal that year!

I support this. Or like, maybe Molly or Brown could cover for you JUST THIS ONCE. Haha, who am I kidding, that shit would be WAY over Brown's little head. But Molly on the other hand... DIRECT VIOLATION, no real names on board, ch...Nadine.

Also, HG/Stormy. If you can get through the work/school obstacle, you should ride back to Seattle with me or Burrito or Fig that weekend. The Bolt Bus can have you back in Portland by 11:15am on Tuesday for ONE DOLLAR.

I just watched the BF5 guitar center session (recorded just a few months ago) and he's talking about how Built to Spill has been his favorite band for almost 2 decades... BF5 special guests at Sasquatch Launch Party!?!?

BUILT TO SPILL CONFIRMED!! Oh dear. Same night as Ben folds 5. God, it'd be so awesome if they finished their set at the Showbox then hopped over to the Neptune but doubtful cause they're, like, old. Also, we will be in Portland (for built To spill) when they start giving out tickets on Saturday... Decisions, decisions.
