I thought they put on a good show but it was not going to convert any non-fans. I think that the people that liked Animal Collective going into the show were happy but they really did not cross anyone over into their camp. I think they are probably much better seen in a smaller club type atmosphere and definitely need more than 50 or 60 minutes to rock it out.

I agree that Santigold put on a great show. It was fun seeing her bring those people on stage. They were going buck wild.
I thought Mt. Saint Helens Vietnam Band were really good for the four songs that I got to see.

Its tough to put them in any sort of order so here are just five highlights.
Chromeo DJ set was amazing. The energy in the dance tent was super high and these guys rocked more than even Girl Talk.
Although, I thought Chromeo was better than Girl Talk, I thought Girl Talk put on a great show. I loved the Paranoid Android mix in and the crowd was having a great time. Especially the dude in the VIP section with the free high fives sign, who was dancing like he was the main attraction. Too funny.
Of Montreal was great. I wish they had played longer but they were able to bring alot of energy in the time that they had and a Prince cover to boot.
Jane's Addiction were quite powerful. It was my third time seeing them but my first time with Eric Avery and his brute force on the bass reminded me of why I love Janes so much. Seeing them with Eric on bass instead of Flea was so much better, and I really like Flea as a bassist.
Black Moth Super Rainbow bringing the frothy cripsy goodness at the Wookie Stage. Definitely a great day time set, although it seemed like they did not play for as long as they were scheduled.

So we got the official map and there is no number 8 in regular camping. It is only in premier campinng. Number 23 is in the middle as a suggestion. Anyone out there.

Alright, just got back from the grocery store and the liquor store. And I finally got the happy feeling that I am ready to embark on my first Sasquatch! festival. I started to get a crazy half-cocked grin on my face anticipating the craziness that will be starting tomorrow on the drive into setting up camp for the first time in 12 years into the porta-potty 8 board party into my first view of the Gorge Ampitheater into 3 days of great music and fun. Still have to do laundry and pack, but otherwise we are ready to go. You guys getting ready and getting excited? I hope that everyone remembers to bring plenty of water, gold bond, liquor, and party favors. Time to sack up and party down people.

Too bad Of Montreal is up against NIN. Yeah, thats a bitch. Sucks, but at least you can split sets and see about an hour of each. Of Montreal is a great show. Kevin Barnes is big on costume changes and they hopefully will bust out a nice cover at the end. As for the list of the Top 20 must see bands at Sasquatch, you guys did a pretty good job picking out the more dynamic acts. I am planning on seeing 14 of your top 20 acts, so you guys have some good taste. However, you might want to do a little more research on the acts that you are reporting on because Girl Talk is not a "they" or a "them". Girl Talk is Gregg Gillis who performs his mix on his laptop. One guy, one computer and typically a whole bunch of fans jumping up and down on the stage along with him by the end of the set. Should be a good time.

I hae recently had the misfortune of acquiring a broken jaw. Do you think I can bring in my pre-puree'd meals as long as they're in clear packaging? I would send the festival an email. If they say yes, I would print it out with you and show it to the security guy at the gate. Good luck and sorry to hear about your jaw. I hope you at least have a good story behind it. If not, then you should make one up. I remember telling everyone I fell out of blimp when they asked how I broke my arm.

Its looking real good. The forecast on Intellicast.com, which I think is generally more accurate than weather.com shows:
Friday - High 84, Low 51 Sunny Sat - High 87, Low 52 Sunny Sun - High 88, Low 52 Sunny Mon - High 89, Low 53 Sunny
Thats about as good as it can be. Hopefully, this will hold form.

ps... do we want to meet that late or a little earlier??? I'm cool with whatever. What time were you thinking? We shouldn't meet too early, so that everyone can get there, get set, and have a chance to suck down a couple.

Being that this is my first time to the Gorge, I am really looking forward to the Gorge experience. It looks amazing in pictures, and I am sure that it is going to be even cooler in person, with Animal Collective playing and me being a little sauced up.

If you want to organize a meet up, or rally, the best way to do it would be to pick a Portapotty spot, since they are all numbered. I might recommend 8 or 9 as being central. Then post exactly the time you want everyone to meet up, hopefully around 11-12pm, when most are drunk, and like to mindlessly chant "sasquatch" over and over. Bring a megaphone and start the chants. No one has assigned spots, but everyone knows the numbered Portapotty scheme, so spend the early part of Friday night spreading the word of when and where the rally/meet up will be. People love chanting when drunk, especially with the Friday night crowd. This sounds like as good a plan as any. You are a smart guy Knowidyuh.

Yes, ice is available at the general store. Showing up a day late based on ice is a very questionable decision. I don't recall them running out of ice at the store, since they have an ice maker. The only downside is that it is a 30 minute commute there and back, since it is about a 15 minute walk each way. I like going for a walk in the mornings either way, so you can call me Ice Man, at least to my crew. Good to know, thanks. Showing up a day late to conserve ice seemed like a highly questionable decision.

Letterman was pretty funny with that.
I couldn't figure out if the dancers behind AC were supposed to be funny or if that was for real. I wonder if they are going to be touring with those dancers.

Are there usually late night sets? I thought they only have late night shows when there are weather issues.

Less than Ten days away. F-king Fantastic. Things are getting close. Going to pull out all the camping gear this weekend to test it out. Hopefully we have all of our tent stuff.
The party should be in the general camping area, right? Anyone want to volunteer their spot? My wife and I are going to be in Premier camping so I dont know if we can be the hosts. I'll bring an extra case of beer.

, thanks for the tip about knowing where you parked by knowing which porta potty you are next to. Sucks that they dont have specified sections. But you are saying that you dont want to run out of ice. I thought you could buy ice at the campground, at like a general store? Am I wrong about that?
