I would like to point out that Midnight Beast is arguably one of the worst bands I've ever come across. And if I meet any of you at Coachella who enjoy them, I will swiftly kick you in the shins repeatedly. If you aim for the genitals, it will deter them from reproducing (an added bonus).

Daver just referred to the Antlers as a "dancy act" on 4chella. In his defense they did release a remix record. There's like 4 danceable songs on there.

Glad to see it finally go viral so to speak. Obama came out yesterday and said he will not support and sign SOPA so there's that. OBAMA SAVED THE INTERNET I SHOULD VOTE FOR HIM RIGHT? Didn't he say that about the NDAA too? Maybe he'll sign SOPA and then add a signing statement - "My administration will not enforce this on proboards"

That sh!t cray. HOOM is next level songwriting. The lyrics are vast. In my mind, it will inspire a wave of amazing albums to follow (first of which: Feist's Metals) I like using sportscenter cliches to describe music. And I might add that Joanna Newsom has great intangibles and she's just a winner. Haha. I was more channeling Epic Meal Time, but I guess that works too. If you prefer the TL;DR version, here's what I wrote back in 2010:

Alberta area at the moment, but I'm probably moving to NoPo soon. Cool. We are in SE. We used to live in NoPo back in the diggity day. Personally, SE is my favorite part of town but it is nice there are different things going on all over. I'm warming up to NoPo. I do like Forest Park and the St Johns Bridge. I'd much rather live in SE though.

You managed to get tickets to Coachella limbo? I did, but for Weekend 2. Still trying to decide what to do exactly. Might just go solo and have an adventure. What part of town are you in? Alberta area at the moment, but I'm probably moving to NoPo soon. Not much these days (wait, does anyone here even remember that SNL skit?) No

I have like three Joanna Newsom records on my iPod, and every time one of her songs comes on, I jump up and yell "GAAAHHH I HATE JOANNA NEWSOM!!" and I run across the room and turn it off. I wasn't a big fan of hers until this last album. Have One On Me is a gamechanger.

And also, I'm no wizard at pinball, but I'd sacrifice some quarters to its cause.

I thought I did this last year, but I can't find it now, so here it goes...
Name: Brett From: Portland, OR Favorite Bands: Future Islands, Radiohead, GYBE, Fiona Apple, Soul Coughing, Aesop Rock, The Black Keys, Wye Oak, Jay-Z, Deerhunter, Joanna Newsom, M83, Fleet Foxes, Bright Eyes, Bon Iver, Washed Out, St. Vincent, Outkast, Real Estate, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Arcade Fire, Elliott Smith, MF Doom, Kanye West, Anais Mitchell, Zero 7, Lykke Li, The Octopus Project, Rage Against the Machine, The Streets, etc My All-Time Favorite Artist: Portishead First Concert Attended: Pearl Jam - Yield Tour (Rose Garden '98) Last Concert Attended: Real Estate & Big Troubles (Doug Fir) All time Favourite Concert: Finally seeing Portishead in Seattle last year was amazing, but Tom Petty's last (?) stop at the Gorge (w/ Black Crowes) was phenomenal. Bon Iver @ Sasquatch '09 is up there too. Red Hot Chili Peppers @ The Roseland Theatre. Fiona Apple @ the Schnitzer. Black Keys @ the Aladdin. (Okay, I'll stop.) All time Favourite Festival: Sasquatch '11 Sasquatches Attended: 2 Sasquatch Wishlist: Seeing most of them at Coachella, but I'd love to see Pearl Jam there, as well as Fleet Foxes, Future Islands, Wye Oak (again), Portishead, Youth Lagoon, Small Black, Earl Sweatshirt.
I'll add a category too... Most Surprising Concert: Damien Rice - went with some friends and wasn't expecting much. Lukewarm about his first album, but they rocked out and really brought out an energy you wouldn't expect from those songs.

If you or anyone you know would like to trade a Weekend 1 ticket for my Weekend 2 ticket, please PM me/let me know ASAP/first. I would really appreciate it because Weekend 2 conflicts with my grandma's funeral. Hahaha. Well played. You know in advance when your grandmother will pass? PS - you are obviously first in line, but I hope you'll pass it on if you find more than one trade offer.

Well, that was fast. I guess that whole doing two weeks experiment worked out pretty well for Coachella. Didn't they say the idea to do two weeks was so everyone who wanted to go this year could? Hmm. I wonder how many thousands of people tried to get a ticket but missed out? Three-week Coachella 2013!!! Seems like there are a TON of scalpers offering tickets already, so I think the experiment was a failure in that regard. I was planning to go with a friend, but he couldn't get through.

There were all kinds of suspect/glitchy things. I actually got on a few minutes before 10 (according to my computer's clock anyway) and sat on the standby page for a half an hour. Then it gave me a message saying "you're close, should be less than 30 minutes". An hour later it changed to "45 minutes". I tried all the different browsers/computers tricks people were posting on FB and none worked. But then finally got through on the original page.
Then on the purchase page, it wouldn't let me select 1 GA pass. It said "Can't find this quantity". At first I thought that one sold out and I would have to buy the shuttle combo, but instead I added 2 GA passes to my cart and then changed the quantity and it worked.
I sort of understand them trying to milk some extra cash from the shuttle combo, but I think that's the shittiest part of this whole thing. People who are camping don't need that. Its a useless upgrade. They at least should make offer a shuttle combo or a camping combo. Or just let people choose what they really want!

Nope. BM - as in Bowel Movements (that's my legal name).
She is damn good looking (but I'm not objectifying her) and she usually has a fun, playful stage presence.
If you haven't heard her live cover of "Dig A Pony", its worth seeking out.

Yeah, so that was a cluster, but after nearly 2 hours I finally got through. Could only get weekend 2 tickets though.
I'll get in line to trade for weekend 1 if anyone else has to switch. Or maybe there will be enough weekend 2 boarders for a 2nd meetup?

I missed St. Vincent's last Sasquatch set. I won't make that mistake again. It was pretty good, not her best. It was an afternoon spot with the sun in its worse spot for that stage. Seemed like the band couldn't quite get into it. I've seen her a couple other times in smaller venues and she is positively electric, though - so maybe she'll get a better spot on the schedule this year.
