These are fucking amazing. I literally burst out laughing. Can't believe we're only a month away from Sasquatch again. Year 6 for me may be the best yet.

Tossed $20 into the pot, I'll check back soon to see how close to the goal you are and possibly donate more. Don't want anything in return, just happy to hopefully help some good people experience Sasquatch.

There's plenty of people that have perfectly decent singing voices and it actually enhances the experience when the crowd sings along but keeps it at a level where you can still hear whoever is on stage. I'm specifically talking about the people with atrocious voices that scream the words right next to my ear and don't know how awful they sound, the kind of person I tend to get stuck next to when the crowd density is at its peak and it's hard to move. I envision the average Lumineers fan to be that person.

I just realized that Saturday is going to be completely insane for me. I think 5 from my top 10 of the whole weekend are playing consecutively. John Talabot > Tame Impala > TEED > Sigur Ros > Empire Of The Sun I think Saturday may be a "weed and alcohol only" day just to make sure I can remember that absolutely thrilling string of artists. Then again, my mind might be changed once I'm actually there. Don't forget Bloc Party, Akron/Family and Devendra Banhart earlier in the day. I couldn't possibly miss any of Sigur Ros at the Gorge though. Saturday's lineup is one of the most complete, awesome from start to finish days that they've ever put together in my opinion.

They were awesome at Coachella. The crowd was insane, probably the biggest I saw all weekend. What I didn't like was the plethora of Lumineers fans at Gaslight Anthem clearly not enjoying themselves (es evidenced by the fact they were sitting in groups on the ground near the pit). I wasn't quite as annoyed as others, but it was definitely causing frustrations which was affecting my enjoyment of gaslight. Dear Lumineers fans... YOU ARE THE WORST. That's pretty comical because the Gaslight Anthem is much more talented than the Lumineers. I hope they play "Ho Hey" (or whatever the christ it's called) last so that particular group of Sasquatch attendees stays clear away from Alt-J. Hell, I just realized that not only will there likely be lots of Lumineers fans on the floor in front of the Sasquatch stage during Cake (and not enjoying them), but that crowd is going to be down there singing out loud to the Postal Service too. This makes me want to stay up on the hill for Cake and the Postal Service. Not much pisses me off more at a festival than people that are visibly annoyed when I'm trying to enjoy one of my favorite bands, and people that drown out the actual musicians with their terrible singing voices.

Man, all this time I thought "ZZ Ward" was an old-timey black blues musician. I thought it was a combo of ZZ Top and M Ward. If she really does sound like Gary Clark Jr or Adele I might have to give her a chance. Her songs fit into the same soul/blues/hip hop category as Gary Clark Jr. and some of the songs sound at least a bit similar. Her vocals are very strong like Adele's. I don't choose to judge her based on her fashion choices but rather on the music, which I enjoy. Just like anything else, it isn't for everyone.

If anyone was having a hard time deciding between the Postal Service and Rusko, the Postal Service just announced shows in Seattle and Vancouver for July. I was seeing the Postal Service regardless, but seem to remember some of you contemplating seeing Rusko instead.

So we can all go see Youth Lagoon beforehand, obviously. I want to see Youth Lagoon's whole set pretty badly, but worry if I'm not in the Bigfoot stage vicinity by about 9:15 that I won't be within 500 feet of Vampire Weekend. I don't know how big of a draw Arctic Monkeys will have at Sasquatch, but they're a Glastonbury headliner. Hopefully a large chunk of the crowd will be down at the Sasquatch stage for them prior to VW's slot and I could slide over from the Yeti stage right after Youth Lagoon and get a good spot. Probably wishful thinking right there.

That Glastonbury lineup is beyond ridiculous. So jealous that they're getting Portishead, I've been crossing my fingers for years that they'd be at Sasquatch and get disappointed every time. I saw the post about this on Facebook and selfishly hope it isn't at the Gorge, only because there's no way I could get away with going out there twice a year. I don't think there's any venue on this side of the mountains that could accommodate a festival like that though. *edit* I just saw the list of cities that the festival is coming to, and the closest one is in California. They could still extend the festival farther into August and come to the Gorge, but it's at least not on the initial list.

Another thing that's baffling me about Vampire Weekend's slot is why there's a 75 minute gap before they go on stage. Is their stage setup so elaborate that their timeslot couldn't be moved up to 9 - 10:30 so that they didn't conflict with Macklemore at all? Why do they need 75 minutes to set up whereas the Sasquatch stage headliner only needs 45? I'm struggling to even come close to understanding their placement.

I think it'll depend on how close I can get for VW. If the crowd is ludicrously large (which is what I'm anticipating), then you'll find me in the dance tent. If the crowd is as big as I'm expecting you'll probably end up in the dance tent regardless of what you decide. Let's just put it this way, if they have the same size crowd that they had at Sasquatch 2010 then there's going to be a sea of people stretching all the way back to the rap stage. They've become much more popular in the last three years and are only up against Matthew Dear for the first half of their timeslot. There's going to probably be at least 20,000 people between Vampire Weekend and Matthew Dear, so the upper half of the Gorge grounds will be completely swamped no matter which one of them you choose to see.

The half hour of VW weekend I saw at Coachella did nothing to change my mind about them. Still don't care. They looked really bored on stage too, like they were just going through the motions. The new songs sounded nice though! Haha, I thought "Diane Young" was the best soung they played! I'll be at Macklemore. My memory of them from their last Sasquatch appearance is pretty fuzzy because I hadn't paid much attention to their music prior to it, and at the time they weren't one of my "must see" bands, but they had a giant crowd and everyone was very into it. I would have remembered if they had put on a performance like the Coachella one you're describing, because I would have left to go to another stage.

ZZ Ward is about to crack my top 10. I read about people comparing her to Gary Clark Jr. (who I loved at Sasquatch last year) and Adele, so it got me interested. I highly recommend you guys listen to her album from last year. She has the first timeslot of the entire weekend at 4pm on Friday on the Sasquatch stage, so it shouldn't create conflicts for many people.

I think I've seen a total of three comedy acts in my five previous Sasquatches, and they were all terrible. I only wandered in during a comedy act because I was literally interested in none of the bands playing at the time. Not planning on seeing anything this year. Maybe I'm different than most, but I'm there to see bands and not comedians.

Either way it's pretty useless for anyone that's not staying at a hotel or other offsite campground that's not Wildhorse. If you're camping on the Gorge grounds or at Wildhorse then you wasted your money on star parking.

The only reason I really give a shit about Macklemore, whereas I don't care about 99% of other rappers these days, is because he's local and has a good message in his songs. It isn't the typical "pimps n hoez" type of rap and he's very obvious about his love for Seattle. Some of his songs are just incredibly catchy too. I'm still not planning on missing any of Vampire Weekend, but I'll for sure be running down the hill after them to catch the last half of Macklemore.

The crowd is probably going to be more split than we've ever seen it during that 45 minutes where Macklemore and Vampire Weekend overlap. I'd have to guess that Macklemore (along with Mumford and the Postal Service) was a significant part of why Sasquatch sold out so fast this year, but Vampire Weekend had just about the largest sub-headliner crowd I've ever seen back in 2010. I genuinely love both groups and it'll be extremely hard to miss half of Macklemore on the main stage at the Gorge, but Vampire Weekend is one of those "don't want to miss a minute of it" bands for me. Thankfully since Macklemore is local he'll probably do at least one more show in the area this year, whereas the wait for VW to come back will likely be longer.

I was all stoked to see the Flaming Lips on the CHBP lineup but now I'm struggling to even pull the trigger to spend $100 on two tickets. Must have something to do with the fact that I've seen them live 7x in the last few years. Maybe I'll just wait until they come through next time.

Also no illegal substances. Does that mean pot is actually OK to bring it but alcohol isn't? Pot is legal to possess (up to a certain amount), however it's not legal to smoke it in a public place. If you're smoking in the confines of your campsite it's highly doubtful anyone is going to waste their time giving you shit for it, but I'd expect to be turned away if you try to bring it into the amphitheater and they notice it during bag checks.

Did everyone who received their wristband get an email ahead of time? I have yet to receive either. I got two emails, one to remind me to make sure that my address that Ticketmaster has on file is current, and another with a tracking number after they shipped the envelope.
