It's forecast to be in the upper 70s in Seattle this weekend, so I'd like to believe that translates to amazing weather at the Gorge in three and a half weeks. Over the past five years I'd say the average weather for any given Sasquatch day would be around 75 for a high, 50 low and partly cloudy. I've seen all sorts of extremes like the heat in 2009 and the upper 30s in the morning in 2011.

Don't forget about Todd Terje, who made a song that James Murphy played last year at Sasquatch that I still listen to on a weekly basis. Everyone who was at James Murphy will remember this, if you don't already know it. [soundcloud]https://soundcloud.com/toddterje/todd-terje-inspector-norse[/soundcloud] Amazing. I've been wondering for the past 11 months what some of the songs were that he played. His DJ set was the most fun I've ever had at the dance tent by a huge margin.

I've always wanted to wake up early one morning and go jump in the Columbia River. I'm always waaaay too lazy though. I bet it'd be so refreshing and awesome. A couple of my friends did just that back in 2010 on a cloudy 50ish degree morning. We drove across the river to Vantage and stopped at the boat launch area and they took a dip. That was actually how they decided to bathe for the day.

Sasquatch sold out in an hour because of Mumford & Sons, The Postal Service, The Lumineers, and Imagine Dragons, and Edward Sharpe. I promise you Nacho Picasso had nothing to do with that. You're forgetting Macklemore.

"The boning comes in waves" moment was one of the most unforgettable things that's ever happened at Sasquatch. Dude was straight plowing his lady porno style on the cliff as thousands of people including the band watched. I thought it was pretty great how Colin Meloy mentioned it before they played that song again in 2011.

Camelbaks are great if you're in a situation like rustuuuu is in, but they don't offer much capacity for carrying anything other than water, which is why I stopped taking mine. I instead have a full-sized backpack and I carry the largest size water bottle they'll let you in with (I think 20 ounce). My backpack is probably about 2 feet in height and they've never had an issue with it during bag checks.

I feel like I've posted this same thing in half a dozen similar threads so far this year. I've attended the festival for the past 5 years and they've always given in and let people come and go, eventually. Don't expect for them to let you out with a guarantee you'll get back in until Friday, maybe Saturday. Once the massive lines to get into the campground die down (could be late Friday, might not be til overnight into Saturday), that's when it'll probably happen again. Make sure you have enough supplies to last at least a couple days when you first arrive at the campground, because they tend to tweak the rules a bit from year to year.

Macklemore is the first hip hop headliner since the Beastie Boys way back in 2007 (which naturally was the year before I started going). The genre in general has been very underrepresented up until recently. I'm not a big fan of most of the groups in the genre, but obviously Zacks has found the winning formula to help the festival sell out faster than ever before, and because of that we're likely to see an appropriate representation of hip hop in the future as well. Gone are the days that you could stroll up and get a single day ticket day-of-show like in 2008, I think Monday never even sold out.

Proof that Sasquatch is indeed magical and the vast majority of people that attend it are some of the nicest people on planet earth. You'd really think that with around 30,000 people being there you wouldn't necessarily see the same strangers twice (or in your case see your blanket that a group of people out of those 30,000 had). My faith in humanity is partially restored annually on the last weekend of May. People are indeed really fucking nice out there. One thing that's always stood out to me: in my 5 years of going, not once have I seen a fistDr. Garbanzoht. With tens of thousands of people camping together and often drinking nonstop, you would think that it happens here and there (and, sure, perhaps it does and I simply haven't caught it). But I guess my point is this - I've seen it at other festivals, just not at Sasquatch. Now that I think of it, neither have I. I'm pretty sure almost everyone there is so focused on having a blast listening to their favorite bands that they don't give a shit about fighting for that weekend. There's certainly no lack of alcohol on the premises.

I heard she was out and Big Boi was confirmed to replace her. I heard you have a compilation of every good song ever done by anybody. I heard you and your band have traded in your guitars for turntables.

Maybe do this at Divine Fits too, because they're playing completely unopposed between 8:40 and 9pm on Saturday. Several of us could catch an inflatable party at Divine Fits while we move between Bloc Party (or Porcelain Raft / Yppah) and John Talabot.

There's no place that I can find to post this in, and I don't want to start a new thread, but I've got a story to tell. Back in 2011 my girlfriend and I brought some blankets in during the day. We didn't care about them all too much and ended up stashing them somewhere at night and planned on grabbing them on our way out. We went to grab them, and they were both gone. Mildly upset, we walked back to camp and went on with our business. The next day, in the early afternoon, the unbelievable happened. A group of people walking down our row were spotted from afar by my girlfriend, who immediately asked "is that your blanket?". Sure enough, my very distinguishable old red blanket that I've had since my childhood was being carried by a stranger RIGHT PAST OUR CAMP. We asked if they'd found it the previous day (they had) and they were very happy to return it to me, they'd only grabbed it because they were very cold and needed warmth. It is by far the most statistically unlikely thing that's ever happened to me. This is why Sasquatch is the magical beautiful place that it is.

Bah, so I'd have to miss half of Akron/Family and half of Bloc Party to be a part of this? Hmm...

I'm doing PHJB > Robert Delong > Atlas Genius > BRMC > Devendra Banhart > Akron/Family > most of Bloc Party > Divine Fits > John Talabot > Tame Impala > Sigur Ros > EoTS. Gonna be so tired at the end of Saturday from all that walking, that's 10 times in one day I'll be hopping between stages.

That post scared the crap out of me because I just recently started getting into Grimes. Glad to see she's probably still showing up.

I like that in the same day, several boardies proclaimed Saturday to be one of the best festival days we've ever seen on any lineup and several other boardies proclaimed it to be the exact opposite. Definitely the most polarizing day since I've been following this board. I don't recall seeing anyone in the middle. Every post has been either "Saturday is stacked!" or "worst day ever, I'm not even showing up til after dusk!". Unfortunately I think I'm going to be the only person in my group of friends that thinks it's stacked, so I expect to be going solo for at least half the day.

I've been waiting to see Cake for well over a decade. I shall catch the last half of Disclosure. Dang bro, I've seen Cake 3x in the last 5 years without really having to try.

I tend to sing along if I like a band well enough and actually know the lyrics, but I keep it at a level where it would be unlikely to annoy anyone close to me.
