my friends and i went to get breakfast in vantage every morning last year and didn't even get a dirty look from any of the security people. if you're worried about them changing that this year, just do your shopping in ellensburg (if you come from that direction) before showing up on friday.

maybe its just me, but it seems pretty odd that a week before the lineup is set to come out we have pretty much no clue who will actually be there other than those that have been confirmed. makes me think they might be shitting their pants because pavement was apparently supposed to be the big draw, but now every other festival will probably have them too. it wouldn't surprise me at all if ticket sales were slower this year unless they pull soundgarden out of their hat or something.

i like how bonnaroo starts nearly 2 weeks after sasquatch ends and they get their lineup a week before we do. i wonder if the sasquatch planners figure they can let that slide because most people around here aren't going to fly to tennessee for a festival anyway.

I'm just posting this warning for people who haven't already bought Premier camping tickets. DON'T DO IT!! PREMIER CAMPING WAS A MASSIVE RIPOFF IN 2009!!You pay $170 (almost double the $99 for general camping at the Gorge and the $90 you can pay for far superior camping at Wildhorse). For this we got pooper to pooper camping directly next to the general camping, filthy toilettes and showers, virtually no noise difference from general camping and a shuttle bus that was supposed to get us in early but arrived 2 hours late on the first day. It was a shameful ripoff. definitely agreeing that it was a ripoff last year, so many broken promises and inadequate showers and bathrooms. they're going to have a lot of angry people up their asses if they don't improve the conditions significantly this year. if you don't want to camp anywhere near the general campground, don't show up right at noon on friday. from my observation last year, they began filling in the premium campground at the end closest to the general ground first. my friends and i arrived probably around 5pm on friday and were plenty far enough away that we were able to sleep several hours each night.

So if I just buy one camping pass it is good for how ever many are in the vehicle or just 4 people? i'm pretty unclear about this even after getting an email back from them. i think you can bring as many people as you can stuff in one vehicle to a premium spot, but there's a 4 person limit on regular spots. i could be wrong though, they don't exactly make their policy on this well known.

Metric is most likely out, they're doing yet another Seattle show next month at the Showbox SoDo

incase anyone was wondering, I sent a question asking if you're allowed to bring 5 people to a premium campsite since I had heard there was a 4 person limit last year. I got a reply back literally a month later saying that it was fine, provided all 5 people arrived in the same vehicle. I was worried for a while that the 5th person was going to have to buy a second campsite just to be able to stay with us.

holy christ Bonnaroo will be more like Bro-aroo if they're getting KOL and DMB as two of the headliners. i hope the sasquatch planners don't make the booking mistakes they did last year.

i can't understand why you'd list U2, they're not even close to being sasquatch material and would be entirely too expensive for a 20,000 person festival to snag. same with muse, they're the kind of band that only comes to WA once per tour (deck the hall ball doesn't count since it was a short set) and they already have a date in april. alice in chains and black rebel motorcycle club? are you insane?

having a difficult time selling 3-day passes when only one or two bands have been confirmed? shocking!

another thing that pissed me off last year was the power tripping event staff that yelled at my group for going into an area of the premium campground that wasn't occupied in order to take some pictures of the gorge. there were no signs indicating that the area was off limits, nor were there people stationed to shoo us away, but they made it sound as though we should have known when they rolled up at like 40mph in their little golf cart.
perhaps i'll email them to try to get a free campsite even though i've already ordered one, emphasizing the need for more showers, an actual enforced quiet time from 2-8am, and movies/coffee like they stated there would be.

Answered my own question when I bought a 3-day pass this morning. Camping is already available as an add-on but doesn't show up when you search on Ticketmaster. It set me back $370 for festival tickets + premium camping

Indeed the shower situation was unacceptable this year, I had to walk out there at 4am just to not have to wait in a huge line. They should have at least 10-15 showers instead of the 2 (or was it 4?) they had before.

Does anyone have a clue when camping sites will be going on sale for the '10 festival? I know Wildhorse is already taking orders but I want to stay in the on-site premium grounds again. I actually got plenty of sleep each night this year instead of getting next to none in the general grounds in '08, thanks to all the heavily intoxicated bros partying til 5am.

1. NIN - if this is truly the last time we'll see them in the northwest, they went out with not just a bang but a fucking nuclear explosion. 2. YYYs - i was so sad that i didn't see their full set because i got sick and had to go back to the campground, but what i did see was fantastic. 3. Jane's Addiction - their set was a bit shorter than i would have liked but it definitely did not disappoint. 4. Gogol Bordello - this was one of the nice surprises of the weekend, and i'll remember it because of this adorable dream girl shaking her shit in front of me. if only i had the stones to talk to her, but i did get some pictures 5. Girl Talk - really closed the festival for me well

probably the most memorable thing for me was this young couple in front of us on saturday. they started doing cocaine and after about 15 minutes they were tripping balls. the girl was wearing a loose tanktop and tiny shorts with her butt hanging out the back. before they stumbled away to who knows where, she displayed her nipples and vagina at least 3 or 4 times each. she was pretty hot, one of my friends sat there mesmerized and had like a 3 second reaction time when i'd say something to him.

I had next to no internet connectivity there and no signal as soon as I descended from the top of the hill towards the main stage at the amphitheater. My friend with Verizon had a strong signal anywhere he went. Definitely should pester AT&T about getting a truck out there next year.

yeah they can't have any liquid in them when you get to the gate, but there's several water stations inside where you can fill up. apparently they took away the station down by the main stage and replaced it with another concession stand though, so if you're in that area you have to walk up the hill.

If someone gets caught with a DSLR, they have to walk back to the campsite to drop it off? from my understanding you get a warning to put it away and if you get caught again they kick you out. you can't take it back to the campground unless you want to miss the rest of that day, since there's no re-entry allowed.
