after trying to read through the rumors thread again and realizing that it was taking me over a half-hour, i have decided to make a thread for all of the useless comments that take up unnecessary space. this board is for:
• Any/All comments about bands you love/hate. • Any comments about how much you hate the rumors thread now. • Any comments about how much you love interstateeight. • Any death threats towards other members. • Your current tweets and/or facebook status. • Your sexual orientation. • An in-depth list of reasons why Jack Johnson should not be at Sasquatch. • Any comments explaining how drunk/stoned you happen to be. • ALL other useless shit that we all love to say.
... just to clear up some space.

I like your idea, but this thread is not going to be too popular. People are willing to read through three pages of junk to find something that might be a credible. People are not willing to read through three pages of junk to find nothing.

Even though this was a joke, i think i am going to use it. There really is no place else to guess who is going to be at the festival.
Possible headliners ( real possiblities)- Pavement( obvously), gorillaz, Faith no more, flaming lips, Lcd Soundsystem, Arcade Fire, MMJ
Headliners who i don't think will be there.- Pearl Jam( I just think the would never play sasquatch when they coyld make more money selling out the gorge by themselves.) Jack johnson.( it doesn't feel right). Beastie boys( they were supposed to be at all festivals last year , but because of cancer scare, the cancelled, they would probably play those festivals if they were tourung , but there is no mention of them) Sound garden( got back together too late)
Headliners that would just be cool to see at sasquatch-
Peter Gabriel, Neil Young.
What does everyone think, please feel free to add this list or talk about anything at all. I kind of feel we can make this thread anything we want it to be. Instead of being rigidly guided to stick to the topics of threads.

okay this is nice and comfortable. no need to have any foundation for anything i say here. not that anyone in the other topics cares lately. I'll just reply to funnygrrl's post i guess
Personally, I think it's way too soon for the Beastie Boys to headline again. That was just 2007 when they did. As long as you don't count the Flaming Lips, who weren't really headlining in 2006 (Ben Harper switched with them and played that miserably long set), then there haven't been any repeating headliners er...ever? I don't think there have ever been repeated headliners.
I want Gorillaz. They do seem reasonable. As for those other "possible headliners..." I think that if Sasquatch booked faith no more or LCD soundsystem, that would look really weak, because they would then be using 2 non-headliners from Coachella as headliners. It just wouldn't look good. Plus they don't feel like the right caliber to me. On that note, are mmj headliner caliber? The Arcade Fire do a hell of a show. I wouldn't complain

And I have posting on this message board for 3 years now and it used to be fun to just chat, it has lost alot because some posters are very anal that we stick on topic, even thought they can say whatever they want, but as soon you say something slightly off topic, these posters berate you , just a thought, I hope there are others that agree.

i get where they're coming from. the other topics get pretty flooded with repetition and stuff in the wrong place sometimes, but it's not too bad

Hey cast you may be right about, about the headliners , thinking back at the sasquatch festivals in the past, sasquatch does book 2 big headliners and when it has been a 3 day festival, the have been booking 2 big healiners and a smaller headliner for day 3 so if we assume the smaller headliner is pavement, than the other big headliners are, maybe Gorillaz and ?( who, assuming Arcade fire is a smaller headliner). plus that could lead to lcd or MMj subheadlining.

How amazing would it be to have Gorillaz play the Gorge. I was on the fence about trying to make it to another festival this year, and when Coachella announced that, I decided I would go this year. I just love the idea behind the band and the amount of art is goes into their show and albums. People just write them off as a cartoon band, but it is pretty substantial what Albarn and co. have been able to do. With this being their last album, I really want to be able to see them before the magic is gone, you know!
I have to say I have loved the overall evolution of Sasquatch over the years. I had been to a couple concerts before I made it to Sasquatch in 05. Being from Moscow, ID, it is like a live music desert considering the closest venues are Portland and Seattle, with few gems coming to Spokane. I will never ever forget the feelings I had during Arcade Fire that year. I liked Funeral at the time, but was not a rabid fan like others. When they took the stage and started pounding out "Wake Up", the chills and overwhelming emotion was earth shattering. That sounds so stupid and sappy, but that is the moment I fell hard for music. One of those you had me at hello comments. My parents are consistently giving me shit about my love for music, to the point of making trips just for concerts. It is so hard to put that love into words, but I was wondering about other people's experiences at concerts, Sasquatch if you like; and what makes you love music.

That's funny you say that about Arcade Fire. I felt the same way. To me Funeral was a really good album, but, it wasn't until I saw them live that I connected with the music. It was almost like you had too see them life to understand the music.
Music has always been important to me, you can take a 4 or 5 minute song and it can have a profound effect on your life, that why i don't like to criticize peoples taste in Music, because any song could mean something profound to any one.

I got into Arcade Fire one night when there was nothing else on TV and a rerun of their appearance on Austin City Limits came on. They put on such a great show. It seemed like every song they played I really enjoyed. I was very surprised. Also, Green Day is one of the worst bands in the world. I don't know how anyone can listen to that garbage.

the first time i ever heard them was sasquatch 05 i think. was that the year with pixies, modest mouse, wilco, arcade fire, bloc party and all that....it was a stacked single-day event. I was so blown away by arcade fire too though

That was a stacked year. Even Kanye was there. It was very diverse for being just a day. So funnygrrl what do you think of Funeral now. It is probably my favorite album from the last decade. However, against the masses, I almost like Neon Bible more.
On a totally different note, what albums from 2010 have you enjoyed so far. I like Beach House, The Besnard Lakes, Yeasayer and Spoon's albums so far.
I am soooooooooooooo looking forward to Arcade Fire, LCD, Gorillaz, The Dead Weather, and the great ones that I don't even have an idea about now!

i have found a great love in the new Yeasayer. The new Hot Chip is, as usual, great fun.
I'm slowly enjoying the Beach House album

New Yeasayer has been in constant rotation just because its so catchy. But, new Silver Mt. Zion, Efterklang, Owen Pallett, Jaga Jazzist in that order are the best of this year (already an amazing year) in my opinion.

Andimac, in my opinion funeral was the best album of the 2000's,
I am now listening to Spoon( awesome album), Owen Pallet And Hidden Cameras( I know its 2009, but still Good).
I didn't like older Yeasayer, but the song Tightrope was the best song on the Day For Night Album, and I seem to like the newer stuff much better.

I like the new Yeasayer album, indeed very catchy, but still like All Hours Cymbals better. Odd Blood kind of reminds me of Duran Duran for some reason. "Tightrope" on Dark Was The Night really is a great song I also like Charlotte Gainsbourg -IRM. There's just something about a girl singing in French (half the time)... and it's not SO mellow that it puts me to sleep (Beach House).
