due to the likelihood of the new pornographers playing again, one would think that would add more validity to the rumor of the flaming lips coming back, since they don't seem to mind booking neko case and her bands almost every year. with the flaming lips would come stardeath and white dwarfs, which are another fun live band.

yeah they let you have one vehicle per campsite, and alcohol is allowed within each campsite, they don't let you walk around with bottles though from what i hear.

interesting, i would have expected to see Neko there playing her solo stuff. i'll take her however she comes though, new pornos are a great live band.

elvis costello wouldn't get any higher than a sub-sub-headliner unless the lineup for one of the days was really unusually weak. i could be totally underestimating pavement's popularity, but i can't see there being any more than a few thousand people watching them, especially if they close out the festival or there's another halfway decent act going on at the same time.

The National would work great right before Pavement. They're doing a few shows together, and ever since someone said how cool it would be if The National played "So Far Around The Bend" that night it's something I've been hoping for. By the same logic, Broken Social Scene, who is also doing shows with Pavement, would make sense. I'd buy this as well. When bands are touring together, they do tend to get paired. They did it with REM, Modest Mouse and the National two years ago I believe. and NIN+JA last year, the Cure + 65daysofstatic the year before. very likely to see more pairs this year.

and i can't believe someone would even suggest nickelback. i don't think adam zacks would do that to us. if it ever happened, i'd personally buy a $12 beer and get up to the front of the crowd to throw it in chad kroeger's face.

pretty sure ben gibbard is still touring with jay farrar, i suggested quite a while back that they'd probably be at sasquatch. a postal service reunion would be awesome but this is very likely not the year it'll happen.

Kings Of Leon headlined last year. Do you really think they'd really bring them back again? Were they even that good last year? I'd be very disappointed if they were a headliner for the 2nd year in a row. and like Psychofficer said, I doubt MGMT would headline. They'd certainly get a good slot, but they don't have enough material, nor do I think they're really big enough. Vampire Weekend maybe, but I heard a lot of people were disappointed with their new album. there's literally no chance of KoL being a headliner again this year. i heard they were good but i didn't stay for their set because i hate the typical KoL fans. MGMT would be a sub-headliner at best, as was previously stated they're probably almost big enough to headline, but don't yet have enough to play. i could see them opening for Flaming Lips if they both show up.

Most of it seems pretty logical and there are only a few that jump out as really unlikely (namely Frightened Rabbit). frightened rabbit is in seattle on may 16th. probably a little too close to sasquatch for them to do both.

phoenix was just in seattle last month. i'd be surprised if they aren't at sasquatch though, since they seem to be doing the whole festival circuit this year.

that would be one hell of a lineup if those predictions are close. we're due for MGMT and Band of Horses. Peter, Bjorn and John might show up since they canceled last year. i expect to see Neko Case there supporting her solo album, as well as Ben Gibbard and Jay Farrar. if the Flaming Lips show up, they'd likely be given a Saturday headlining slot so they can do their full set plus Dark Side of the Moon which would probably take around 3 hours total.

I'm pretty sure that MGMT, Vampire Weekend and Nada Surf will all be playing. I talked to someone at one of the radio stations, and they said of Soundgarden, Them Crooked Vultures and those bands, we'll get 3 of 5, to the best of their knowledge (and Soundgarden is highly unlikely, or certainly not confirmed, and I've heard that TCV won't be there either, although I'm less sure about that) i don't see why soundgarden is so unlikely. they said they were playing festivals, and neither coachella nor bonnaroo have announced them.

it's gonna have to be a good rest of the lineup for tickets to sell out, pavement won't draw anywhere near the amount of people that headliners in previous years have (infact a lot of people have no idea who they even are). there will have to either be the best sub-headliners the festival has ever seen, or they'll need to drag out a couple big headliners that draw a lot more than pavement. i have a feeling during pavement's set its gonna look like an early afternoon sized crowd, 80% or more of people will be at other stages or back at the campground. guessing its gonna be soundgarden and beastie boys as the other two headliners.

i'm getting tired of all the people here predicting jack johnson, and i'm going to blame you bastards if he ends up there. what a waste of a headlining spot that would be.

it would be hilariously dumb of them to raise the price before announcing the lineup. they'll probably get lots of people rushing to buy tickets after the lineup is put out, and they'll be even more in a hurry to buy tickets because the price goes up the next day. no idea what they're actually planning on doing though.
