I, personally, am way more interested in the new Foo(did they finally write a new song? more of the same?) . I should have put this in the Foo thread because I'm going to get carried away, but Yes and yes. Eleven all new ones out around April to be exact. What I can tell you from interviews is that unlike the last few albums, there won't be a single ballad or acoustic song. This album is supposed to be their heaviest effort yet. More in vain of the first two records. The only audio released so far in crappy camera phone quality: yfrog.com/5xabgz .

LAME! I won't bag on you for it. Honestly, I'm kind of numb to people hating them at this point. But I really do hope you are in the minority here. You will be missing out on one hell of a show if you choose not to see them. I would have to bring my brother for sure if the Pixies played this year!

Amen to The black keys, the strokes and deerhunter. I don't understand why everybody gets a hard on for the white stripes though.

Pretty much what everyone else said. The implications of the Foo Fighters confirmation is being felt already! I feel like we're experiencing the first episode of "Extreme Makeover: Music Edition." I have a feeling mhancho83 is going to be a new man come June, if he sticks around. And funnygirrrl, I caught the fever in 2005 (Arcade Fire, Kanye West, Wilco, Modest Mouse, Pixies). Imagine the excitement finding out your one day festival was expanding to three days (in 2006). Dude, you read minds (and touch my tra-la-la). Yeah, Basically. In a messed up kind of way, the Foo Fighters made me do it. Don't get me wrong, they are my favorite band...but I'm really surprised they even got booked. Funny Girl, you caught me. This will be my first year attending the squatch. Working a weekend shift prevented me from going in '07 and '08.. And I thought last year's lineup was insanely good, but I just couldn't get tickets in time... Won't be making that mistake this year. I reckon that if the lineup is anything like the last, I'll be a new man. I don't doubt the admins words at all. I realize that some or alot of you may dismiss my opinions and suggestions from this news of me being a first timer, but Let it be known that I know my shit and I do enough research to validate my points.

It was Dave's song from when he was in Nirvana anyways. Not a "nirvana" song. I can see Krist coming out since he is almost always backstage at their northwest shows and Pat Smear is a full time member again so it is likely.

In middle school I remember the one about him being Paul from the Wonder Years. I wonder who started these rumors.... OH YEAH, I heard that one too! Also, no lie, Ben Bridwell involved that in the lyrics to one of his songs today. They're working on a new album already?

I vote in favor of My Morning Jacket, Mumford & Sons, The Beautiful Girls, and Hugo. I can honestly say I don't know much about 95% of that list.

HG, I had a nice laugh to myself after reading your post earlier today on Maynard playing in daylight. It seems so true. The man is a bit of a recluse. Then again, he does own a winery in AZ where there is plenty of sun. I don't think he is into whoring Tool around right now. If he wanted to, he could easily sell out the Key Arena again with them. With APC, however, he and Billy (whats his face) don't feel as confident with the ticket sales. Little did they know, people still cared to see them and they sold out their three night stint at the showbox within seconds. That being said. You may be right about them not being headliner material (like the Foos) but they can definitely still draw a crowd. Every one of those bands could just as much as...say... The Strokes or Death Cab... Maybe not as big as FF. I also see The argument of maybe it not being the "Right" crowd, but its already going to be the same crowd with FF playing heavy sets.
As far as the Conchords go, I don't think they broke up. They just quit the tv show and aren't currently doing anything. They did happen to play a one off over seas festival last year though.
And now to explain the logic behind my post last night: I'm aware that some of the bands I listed first including Silverchair, Bush and Smashing Pumpkins should all be on the "Oh god no" list as well. With FF playing and past acts like QUOTSA and NINJA, I thought they would all fit the vibe well. Surprisingly, I thought more would be supportive of Pumpkins playing. I personally can't stand them. AIC are not as big of a deal as Soundgarden but they are the only big PNW band that weren't mentioned. If Ben Harper and Jack Johnson could play sasquatch, so could JBT. They also aren't a radio band, bar the new shit maybe. I don't think any of these artists beat out the group of contenders that were listed by others. I think its even more likely for bands like Strokes, Modest Mouse, and Wilco. I just wanted to throw some potentials out there and see what everyones thoughts were.

Have you not seen the previous sasquatch lineups? Most of the bands you listed were kinda off. Of course, I have. Most of what I conjured up is based on the past and current headliners of sasquatch. I'll explain myself, when I have more time today later on.

I declined the entire list, as in, "no possibility." Could you maybe elaborate more on this? I atleast thought that A Perfect Circle would be in the realistic range. They would be a smart choice. Just saying. I'm also curious what everybody's supporting points are on why they think my list is shit. Saying that I am a troll is not a valid argument. HG, I can expect to hear from you on this, but atleast you might have some arguing points other than the typical "I don't like them" answer. Everybody thinks they are a music expert. Back it up.

Flight Of The Conchords have headlined a Monday before? Sure didn't, they played at like 3 in the afternoon when they played (although maybe you're thinking of the sub pop fest at marymoor where they headlined sunday?). Ah shit, I think you are right...Damn. Well I guess I see the "no possibility" there.

No. I knew exactly where you where going and I realized how much I just fucked up when I read that quote. Honestly, I have nothing against gay people. In fact, I have gay friends. I apologize and will edit that post. I admit that there is no excuse for my carelessness there. The tale behind this is an expression I heard from someone at work talking about Smashing Pumpkins. I thought it was kind of amusing... but I also think white (yes, I'm white) jokes are humorous so it is easy for me to dismiss the word "gay" as something lame without thinking of somebody getting hurt. Again I am sorry if somebody got offended.

gtfo troll. i havent paid any attention to you and i even tried helping you in another thread but i'm starting to see everyone elses point. So happy I could share my fresh ideas with some civil and rational adults on here. Naysayers, where's your lists? Think you can do better? I've seen the same bands listed throughout this entire thread. They aren't bad bands by any means, but it would be nice for the sake of entertaining conversation, if you could spice the guess list up a bit.

If we're still thinking Foo (or lesser than) level headliners here, there are a few other unformentioned possibilities I wouldn't completely rule out: Some "Oh God No!" possibilities. I thought you said you were not a troll? Zero chance any of those headline. I saw Incubus at the Gorge, but unfortunately forgot my pillow. Having seen Alice in Chains recently, I can honestly say it was the worst show I've ever seen. With all do respect. First off, I am thrilled you declined half that list. The other half.. Flight Of The Conchords have headlined a Monday before? And why not A Perfect Circle? They would easily draw in the money these corporate festivals seek. Maybe Incubus is boring live now, but I haven't seen them live since 2002 and they were amazing then. Judging from that show, they wouldn't have required a pillow any more than Radiohead would. LOADS of slow songs there. I can see your point with AIC. You either love them or hate them now. But atleast its a better idea than the idiot who suggested Sublime.

Why are you even TALKING about Linkin Park being at sasquatch? That'd be like having talking about Nickelback possibly being at sasquatch. Hardly. Linkin Park have made two albums worth of attempts to try and be considered alternative rock and are on altrock radio... And the even shittier band, Nickelback... Sadly people have created more ties between them and confirmed headliners, The Foo Fighters, than with Linkin Park. Bottom line. Foo Fighters=great. Linkin Park=Not so great. Nickelback=The worst band in the world.

I had a feeling there would be some heads turning about my mentioning of Silverchair. Lol. They should have stopped making music in '99. Still they somehow manage to sell out shows when they seldomly come.
...and I agree "coffee and cigarettes" is a terrible song. Invented isn't half bad for an album though.
