New Queens of the Stone Age album in June. Sadly, a little disappointed with the new album on first listen... Nothing too up-tempo, like their old stuff. I'm sure it will grow on me though.

This is probably the first lineup announcement since I joined this board, where I actually want to see the first 10-15 names listed... and I actually recognize the last band listed!

The Red Hot Chili Peppers. How do like them (investigative) apples? The drummer stated in an interview that Coachella was a good way to wrap up their tour. As much as I'd like to see it be true, I think it's safe to say it won't happen.

Haha the season has officially begun! Thanks for playing, asswipe! This doesn't even compare to the good 'ol days where Biff would threaten you with a gun, I-8 would jump on everybody's ass about treating this place like their own livejournal and...don't even get me started about Squatchcreep...

Fuck yeah! Rob Zombie's new movie actually looks fucking phenomenal. As a huge fan of White Zombie back when I was a kid I've always been rooting for him to make a movie that incorporated all the sweet, campy, old school horror elements from all of WZ's videos and art work. Finally it looks like it is here. So excited!!! Me and Ro have been on a huge Horror kick lately trying to catch up on all the ones from this past year. Came across this gem, anyone seen it yet? I'm a little late to the party here, but I am going to have to check these two out along with any other recent horror movie recommendations. The past few years have been kind of disappointing for the genre. I just watched the steaming pile that is 'The Collection'. 'The Collecter' was atleast a little bit creepy...Also 'The Possession'...a little entertaining, but not even scary.

We did not see the opening band. Mostly because we rarely see the opener but specifically because the last time we saw Pinback their opener was one of the worst bands, maybe the very worst, I have ever heard in my life. They were pretty talented and entertaining. It was basically instrumental Thrash/speed metal (for the most part), but played strictly with an electric violin and cello.

I hope whoever's speculation about the Napa Valley festival (possible similarites) is right, because Fucking PRIMUS is playing there!

Ah, that is disappointing. I've never seen his live performance, but I loved him on SNL...under a bunch of other cast members, of course.

Edit: Ahh! How in the hell did I quote the wrong person on my post? This question was for Stormy and HG about the Pinback concert...Sorry bjorrito for quoting you in mistake.
"Did you guys get a kick out of that Judgement Day openig band? Show was good... not as good as the Rob And Zach Show (just Rob, actually) or when I saw them in 2007. They atleast had a touring keyboardist then."

Bring back Tim Meadows and Horatio Sanz! Agreed. Horatio was the best! What happened to that guy? Also, I'm going to throw Harland Williams out there as a wish...

I've been thinking this is very likely. They should open for Queens of the Stone Age and Dave can do back-to-back sets. ...and here I was just doing some wishful thinking! It is kind of odd that they would tweet about Dave's movie. Josh Homme plays a part in that too...then again, who is doing the the actual tweeting for Sasquatch?? And who can really picture Rick Springfield or Corey Taylor fitting in with the Sasquatch crowd? PS. That video was awesome! I might have to look into more of Offerman's work.

Capital Cities "Safe and Sound" Cut Copy "Take Me Over" or "Saturdays" Empire Of The Sun "Walking on a dream" Grand National "Drink to moving on" (this one is kind of mellower but kind of has a dancy baseline) Youngblood Hawke "We come running" ... and there are a few dancy tunes off Walk The Moon's album....then again I could be way off base on what you mean by dancy.
Oh, and Gramma: good to see you, among others, are still on here. I'll try to! ;D

Has anybody listened to the soundgarden album yet? I'm afraid to. If it sucks I'm going to be all the sad. If you are expecting Badmotorfinger you will be, without a doubt, disappointed. If you like Superunknown and Down On The Upside, this album has some tastes from those two. The last three tracks are simply amazing. In a nutshell, its the best thing Chris Cornell has been a part of since pre-Audioslave and certainly the best mainstream rock album to be put out in a long time!

Soundgarden - King Animal (holy shit! It's like they never broke up!)
I noticed a lot of people were listening to Pinback "Information Retrieved". Thoughts? I love Pinback, but I felt a little underwhelmed with this album. IMO the last two were better and the most stand out track to me ("Sherman") has been floating around since 2010. Don't get me wrong, I think it is still good, I just hope I don't have to wait another 5 years for an album like this.

Haha, well actually, it's more my lack of persuasion in finding someone to go with... who can handle 4 days (of bands they probably don't know) at $315. Last year, I brought the lady and she could barely handle 2 days. Too much partying for her tastes I guess..
