It blows my mind how much better the sound is at Paradiso compared to any other show I've been to at the Gorge. Especially the "Digital Oasis" stage which is the "Bigfoot" stage at Sasquatch. Step your game up Sasquatch!
Gramatik was my favorite act by a mile. His funky chunes, awesome mixing, and live guitar all added to the funkiest dance party of the weekend. I was also really blown away by Markus Schultz, Eric Prydz, and Savoy. Mainly because those artists actually played original music and not the regurgitated mainstream EDM a lot of the other artists were playing over the weekend(I'm looking at you, Kaskade). Overall it was a blast but I think a lot of that had to do with all of my friends who I went with. I think I'll be going to Electric Forest or Shambhala instead of Paradiso next year. The acts/crowds at those festivals are way more up my alley. Paradiso has just been convenient the last two years because it's relatively cheap and close.
Just what the FUCK were people taking at Paradiso? Sounds like something completely fucked up was sold as molly.
Who knows really. But the combo of mystery drugs, 95+ degree weather, not eating enough food, not staying hydrated, and dancing for hours on end is a recipe for disaster. Hopefully this unfortunate outcome will be a wake-up call for everyone being reckless and irresponsible. People blame USC or the Gorge but really the blame should be on the people who show no sign of common sense. It would be nice if USC had some form of a harm reduction campaign though because the amount of new people going to their events who are totally clueless is pretty damn high.
Haven't been on this forum in forever, I have been crazy busy with work and graduating from college.
First of all, Paradiso was AWESOME! Gramatik was hands down my favorite act but that was no surprise. Second of all, if you are going to take "molly" in the PNW chances are you are taking some random research chemical, m1 if you are lucky. Test kits are really the only way now to actually know what you are taking if you decide to indulge. If you do partake in said activities, remember to HYDRATE! The water refill stations were never crowded which was shocking to me. The longest I ever waited was maybe 1-2 minutes to fill my camelback.
Holy shit. Just got home from weekend 2 at Coachella. The whole weekend felt like a dream. Scored 2 weekend 2 bracelets and a car camping pass for $350 in Seattle on Wednesday night and proceeded to say fuck it to work and school and drove straight to the Polo Fields. Needless to say it was the best decision I have ever made. Coachella is everything I wanted Sasquatch to be and more. They aren't really even comparable imo.
And regarding security, we barely got searched but saw some people getting their cars torn to pieces where security was looking through every nook and cranny. I hid my enhancers in a place that would take hours to find anyways so I wasn't too worried even if we did get a full on search. All they confiscated from us was our hammer.

The new Empire of the Sun album comes out in June! So depressed I'm not seeing them at Sasquatch. Even though I've seen them at Red Rocks and in Hollywood, it's never enough with these guys. Please, I beg all of you, don't miss their set!
Lucky is going to be a blast! USC massives are a shitshow but you can't deny that they are a good time. More Paradiso information should be released pretty soon too, I have my fingers crossed for Bassnectar headlining a night.
If QOTSA and Pretty Lights play on the same day I think I would venture up to Canadia land for a day of this. However, I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to do Shambhala or not which is the same weekend. It really all depends if I can score 2 weekend 2 tickets to Coachella or not. No Coachella = Yes Shambhala
