I think it's time we once again start planning for a lineup that's more aligned with End listeners' interests than Sasquatch veterans. I don't even say that for the sake of being negative. It's kind of the reality we've all been unwilling to face for a while now. I'm mostly puzzled by how Courtney Barnett is backwards...

Tycho playing a show in Spokane and skipping Seattle in May and staying on the west coast areas makes me wonder if they will show up again.

I know it's been talked to death but Fleet Foxes look pretty likely now with additional dates in OR and CA with Seattle missing. I disagree because one of their new dates is 5/26 in Vermont, and we already know they're playing Boston Calling, so I think they're pretty unlikely now. Well then! Plot thickens..

I feel so conflicted about how little videos there are of their set because: 1. There's no way to relive it. 2. But people were too busy enjoying the show to pull their cellphone to shoot a video. I did shoot a short clip of the middle of Dance Yrself Clean though.

Oooooofff I dolphinately needed a few days to recover and readjust my brain before talking about Squatch. I don't understand, but as per usual Sasquatch magic infiltrated my honestly low expectations and Friday ended up as one of the most memorable and just plain fun days of a music festival I've ever been to. A friend and I had accepted "Bittersweet Symphony" as the theme song for our ridiculous one day Gorge trek for a few weeks and hearing that one main stage band cover it was one of the more surreal experiences I've had. Thee Oh Sees were absurdly good, burned Bigfoot to the ground. A few surprise Yeti acts made the mid day fun. Managed to get second to the front for a pleasantly packed LCD set. Successfully brought to tears by a musical performance for the second time in my half decade of Squatchin'. I honestly think my only regret was not going for the full weekend. Still trying to figure out if all this board praise for 21 Pilots is sarcastic or not Here's hoping for Sasquatch 2018! Hey! I was in the second row as well Whereabout were you?

Copy pasting what I wrote in the 400+ page thread:
# Good 1. LCD Soundsystem killed it. So so good (I was also in the second row). This show alone was enough to make the trip worth it. 2. I saw more beer options this year. 3. They added speaker towers on the hill by the Sasquatch stage and I thought the sound was better. 4. They added a projector behind the performer at Sasquatch which added some nice visuals to a bunch of the bands I saw. 5. Head and the Heart did a cover of Hunger Strike in honor of Chris Cornell which was really awesome.
# Bad 1. LCD Soundsystem finished 20 minutes early T_T (According to Al Doyle, sounded like they were more time-restricted thana the schedule led to believe) 2. The Live Nation people at the gate were *absolutely* clueless about how the single day passes worked. I was completely told misinformation left and right or straight up "I have no idea" which was not a good first impression. 2. I hated the "no overlap between Bigfoot and Sasquatch" thing since it made the lineup seem super sparse comparatively to previous years and hills were barren several times a day. 3. I guess there's a "Reserved Lawn" section now? 4. Because of the no overlap thing, there were obviously a lot of people that were in the crowd that were not particularly caring about the band and simply was just there to watch a band. I noticed that even during LCD, the crowd was pretty tame. 5. Because of the fewer bands playing, each band except the headliner had an hour long set. Which made bad sets seem extra long and a lot of times you didn't have the option of mozing to another stage (Except maybe the Yeti). 6. The Dance Tent being empty til around 5 was weird too.
Seems like I was in the minority in terms of people that didn't like the no-overlap shenanigan.

How did the heat compare to 2009? That was my biggest question besides my weekend-long FOMO. It was pretty damn hot, at least on Friday, in my opinion. It was fine around noon when I got there but I was hating life by 2-3 PM. Also can someone please explain why Twenty One Pilots was so good? I tried listening to them over the weekend and still don't get it.

Reading our initial reactions and the glowing reception from everyone coming back from the festival side-by-side is some goddamn magic.

I'm back from one day of Sasquatch! Here are some impressions:

Some of the Bads can perhaps be considered as a Good. Overall, I definitely enjoyed myself! But, if the lineup is as sparse as it was this year and I don't have a "need-to-see" artist like I did this year, I'll either be skipping or going a single day like I did this year.

I highly approve totinoboy's shirt.
I'll be leaving in about an hour or so. Boardie meetup still happening at Thee Oh Sees right? I'll be wearing a silly Splatoon shirt (Because I gotta rep my company)/

I admittedly wasn't particularly enthused by The National's set in 2014...

As excited as I am, I don't think I can justify paying 100 for the single day pass and potentially pay another 100 for a 3 day camping pass (which I dont need).

Blow my ass sasquatch, this Upstream lineup is nutty for 1/3rd of the price (1/4 counting camping)!! A whole lot I like already and loads more to explore. Super duper stoked about FlyLo, RAMZi, Yu Su, Tea Cozies, and Shabazz. Can't wait to hear more about the curated stages too. Man O.O I had no idea Upstream was that affordable.
