On the ticketmaster page it says "Showtime @ 7:30. This is a 4 hour show". I'm just guessing about the different sets. I found the schedule: Show: 7:30 to 11:45 Kanye West: 8:20 to 8:45 Jay-Z: 9:35 to 9:50 Thrones 11:05 to 11:15

Me n' Stormy n' Gunther are heading up to the Gorge tomorrow for two nights of Phish! I'm so excited, I've wanted to see Phish since I was like seventeen years old. Here Phishy Phishy.

Hahaha, I've been meaning to post something exactly along those lines for the past couple days, only not in a uber-cool picture form. That is my biggest fear, they will need an extra headliner to sell out week two.

Headliners cannot play SoCal, so they have Las Vegas, San Francisco/Mountain View, and Phoenix/Tucson to play at in between weekends. Non-headliners can do whatever the hell they want, like play San Diego or Los Angeles. Most will probably schedule dates, but some will just vacation, with or without families, like they normally do. E While I agree there is some sort of radius clause (on most major festivals), I seriously doubt it applies only to the headliners. How logical is saying 150 of the 153 bands have free reign to play L.A. and every other city in Southern California within a week of the festival? There has to be some sort of exclusivity if they are going to sell over 100,000 tickets, and draw heavily from the L.A. market. Every year, many Coachella bands play Portland/Seattle/Vancouver the week before Coachella. There is no reason these bands can't complete their NW stops in between the two Coachellas.

Bad news: I have to bow out of the first weekend. St. Mary's has their two most important events of the year on that Saturday and Sunday, and I'm helping to organize both. I'm going to try to trade my tickets for second weekend tickets, though, so if anyone is going second weekend, let me know. That sucks drew, but life comes first. I guess I'll have to go back to trolling you since we won't be hanging out that weekend.

The Ramones - Ramones Mania Rancid - And Out Come The Wolves Fugazi - The Argument CIV - Set Your Goals Bad Religion - Stranger Than Fiction Off! - First Four Eps NOFX - White Trash, Two Heebs And A BeanThis is the exact type of night I'd like to share some beers with you Know! Heck yes. The Ramones put me in a punk mood for the day, but this was brought on by the trip back from the Gorge Sunday, and me pulling DJ duties. The driver kept requesting everything he knew, knowing I have just about everything he likes on my mp3 player. At one point, I played "Free Bird," just because it was a joke reply to his constant requests. You know what? "Free Bird" is actually a pretty kick ass song, and overrated to the point it is now underrated. I hadn't listened to the song in several years. This lead to many shout alongs including Billy Joel, Elton John, and Linkin Park. It got me thinking, the hipster quarter of me has been dominating my listenings lately, and a lot of the new music I spend hours listening to is average at best. It's nice to go old skool and listen to songs that are actual tens.

I've been watching the A's v. Mariners game tonight, and this story is too ridiculous to not post. An Ichiro Suzuki look-a-like (the most famous Mariner) is wearing a Suzuki jersey and sitting in the front row on the first base side. The "local" announcers have already pointed this guy out.
Then in the third inning, a dude for the Mariners hits a fair ball down the first base line, and the look-a-like reaches onto the field to snag the ball. For those who don't know, fans get thrown out of the game for interfering with a ball in play. To their credit, the Mariners fans around him were yelling at the guy not to grab the ball, then gave him disappointed looks when he did anyway. The runner should have had to stay at second because of the fan gaff, but the umpires incorrectly awarded the runner third, so he was slightly let off the hook.
The bad call didn't matter, since the runner didn't score, but the look-a-like still got his ass thrown out of the game.

It does boggle my mind that people think hockey is less entertaining than, say, baseball, but to each their own. STEREOTYPE ALERT!

Looks like the Kanye/Jay-Z date in Tacoma was canceled; most of the other dates on the tour were re-scheduled but that one wasn't. I was actually considering skipping this show to avoid the hassel of a midweek roadtrip, and taking time off work, and because I already have a ticket to see Battles that night. If they make up the Tacoma date, and its on a weekend, that would be just about the greatest rescheduled event luck ever. 12/16, make it happen. This also leaves more time for them to add a Portland show.

If you've watched any ESPN over the past ten months, chances are you've seen this commercial. I keep thinking about it whenever the soccer dives are mentioned. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHebuF8tNEM

I'm not going to link a Coachella thread? Like I said, it's probably BS anyway. Sometimes I tend to believe what I think is already true.

The only band I recall playing four nights in a row at the Crystal Ballroom is Modest Mouse. I saw the Shins last time through town, but I thought it was a part of a very small tour, or a one off. I think they broke up after that show. I'm going off memory, because I don't feel like using google.
