Got to see James Blake last night after a short term freakout because it sold out before I got tickets. He was amazing! It was the first show I'd seen entirely sober since I don't know when and it was beautiful and impressive.
The only downside was that the crowd was so fucking disrespectful. He makes some quiet, very pretty songs and during every single quiet part of a song the room was fucking LOUD with chatter. Like, I had to strain my concentration (sober concentration even!) in order to even hear his voice. I overheard a girl behind me say "oh my god this part is so pretty" OK WELL FUCK YOU I COULD HEAR IT BETTER IF YOU'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT IT AS IT'S HAPPENING. Throughout the whole show, the crowd just would not shut up and it was incredibly rude and disruptive. During a song people in front of us were debating which side of the stage is truly stage left. DURING A JAMES BLAKE SONG. I fucking hate people. Except James Blake, because he's awesome.
His set at Coachella was fucking awesome. It's such an incredible translation of the album to a live setting. CYMK was my favorite moment.

For all you Seattle folks who can't afford GY!BE tickets right now, fear not. The portland shows (9/6 and 9/7- that's a weekend!) don't go on sale until May 31st AND the Showbox SODO is possibly the worst venue in Seattle, so you should see them in Portland anyway.
Crap. Missed your post Nick. Thanks for the offer though! Looks like a Portland road trip will be happening
It doesn't seem anywhere close to selling out. SEE THEM TWICE.
OR THREE TIMES! Seattle, Portland, Portland. I'm gonna go ahead and buy Seattle tickets, just to be safe, but I may end up selling those and just doing Portland depending on this Animal Collective situation the same weekend. Also because Showbox SODO is gross. If I do sell my Seattle tickets, boardies will have priority on em.
Looking over setlists (which I won't spoil), it looks like they play 3 of the same songs most nights and then 2 others that vary. Still awesome but I wouldn't expect to hear more than like 10 different songs over 3 nights.
