I've actually seen them a couple times already and know how it goes, but the 2 1/2 hour set they played in Portland last time around alone felt like we completed the Godspeed cycle.

Sonofabitch. So this should go in the rocks thread but whatever: I lost my fucking ID at the airport en route to visit my moms, come to find that the Built to Spill show that I was planning on seeing while I'm here is 21+! I will figure it out though, because BTS rocks too hard to miss.

Wow. MGMT tickets apparently sold out in a few minutes, but I randomly stumbled across the ticket purchase page for it while browing the Crystal Ballroom website. Just bought one.

Saw Purity Ring last night. They were pretty good!
Nothing coming up until Sasquatch for me except for MGMT @ Mac Hall on May 10th.

I only realized Purity Ring was at Republik last night like an hour ago when I went for a smoothie with a friend that tends bar there. But I'm still happy with my concert choice last night.
My next concert is.... Big Boi in Santa Ana on May 17th or 18th or something. Should be a time, yo. Then Sasquatch, then Rancid, Sled Island, random concerts during Stampede, Folk Fest, Squamish. Should be an effing awesome summer.

It was pretty fun! But I heard the atmosphere was better when they played in September. Nice! In Calgary I will also be at Sled Island, some Stampede stuff probably, Folk Fest, and maybe Rancid depending on whether or not a friend of mine wants to go. Will also go to the Mad Decent Block Party most likely, as long as the lineup isn't terrible.

Hopefully the sound at Alex Clare is better than at Coachella. Actually, I'm still not sure whether it was a sound problem or if he just has no vocal power when hitting notes 1/2 octave above his normal range. The sound cut out consistently when he hit high notes at Coachella and I was in front of the sound booth so I'm skeptical.

Well, my attending is due to Zombie wanting to go and telling me so just before Christmas when I had no idea what to buy her for Christmas. I don't really have any expectations at all and Local Natives were fucking amazing last night. We'll see.

He was significantly better than I expected him to be, even if his backing band were clearly not all that gifted (looking at you drummer and bassist). The setlist was really well thought out, and I'm a sucker for that Prince cover.

I am so sad to say I have to miss Bjork in SF on the Wednesday before Sasquatch. First, because I have to leave for Sasquatch. Second, because her tickets START at $89. Bjork remains at the top of my list of artists I have never seen and it's totally embarrassing.

Sorry to hear these things, dude. I was really looking forward to partying with you Bjorrito style in SF before the conflict arose.
Come to Bonnaroo? The schedule is fucking amazing. Animal Collective 2:00-4:00am. Just sayin'.

Now knowing what kind of witching hours you live, I can totally understand your love for Roo's scheduling. The only set I've ever seen in my life that went from about 2-4am was Armin van Buuren at Freaknight last October and it was the most miserable two hours I've ever spent watching a set that I actually really loved.

Animal Collective in the middle of the night is peeeeerfect. It'll still be muggy as hell but it won't be hot and the timeframe will homogenize the acidity of the crowd and weed out any weaklings.

Why the grumpea? I was just saying I totally get why Burrito loves his late night sets. They're just something I can't handle very well :/
