I'm glad Mother Mother has come and gone. Maybe now Sonic will stop blowing their load about every move they make, at least for a little while. I'm so sick of that band and the lead singer's stupid haircut. The RAA show was fucking awesome. Seeing them downstairs at Brixx 2 years ago, then at the Pawn Shop, and now at the Starlite was a trip. Next up, EEC, Shaw, Rexall. Such a high energy show. I was standing about 15ft from Paul and just in complete awe of his intensity/skill. Picked up some merch from the opener (The Provincial Archive) and I'm diggin' the CD quite a bit. Kinda Freelance Whales meets The Wooden Sky vibe going on. Very chill. Their merch guy used to be in Five O'Clock Charlie, a local band that broke up years ago, and he's supposed to be sending me a digital copy of their album because I shat a brick when he told me. I had completely forgotten about them. Anyway, good times. Love the Starlite. Seeing Face to Face w/ Strung Out there at the end of the month. Should be pretty fucking rowdy. UGHHH Why did you not find me!!! I was right against the stage between Nils and Paul. I was asking everyone around me if they were Alex. Didn't find you though! You didn't go to the show at the Wunderbar yesterday? I didn't read your post until after the show. I was probably standing right behind you, haha. Were you right in front of the guys who were crowd surfing? **edit** I wasn't one of those crowd surfing fools. I was standing right behind them having a great time.

Rusty, you have to meet our cat. She is a great impressionist.

Rusty, you have to meet our cat. She is a great impressionist. Can she do a good Christopher Walken? I've always been a sucker for a good Walken impression.

Has anyone heard of, listened to, or seen the band Tartufi? They're playing in Pullman tomorrow night. I'm probably going no matter what because concerts are very scarce in these parts.

Went and saw the RAA last night and Alex nailed it by saying how intense it was! What an amazing band they are, especially in a live setting. It had been a couple of years since I last saw them, and while they still have the same set-up acoustic guitar, drums and keyboard, their sound just seems so much more forceful and fleshed out. The crowd was so receptive to the band and watched in total adoration...except for the two frat boy douchebags that showed up and tried to start a fucking mosh pit! The crowd singing the end of "Frank, AB" was a true highlight. If the RAA come by your city they should not be missed.
The opening act was a band called Hooded Fang and they were pretty awesome as well. There were six band members playing very inoffensive and bouncy pop music. Did not pick up their CD but they said they have a new album coming out shortly so I will be keeping an eye on them.

I couldn't imagine having to wait until I was 21 to see some great shows, 19+ is bad enough up here. That sucks a lot Geno.

There seem to be a lot of 21+ shows in Portland, maybe because of all the bars.

I'm on my phone, so just imagine this post is a pic of Billy Corgan looking ridiculous.

I had originally put in my post " I'm assuming it's because you associate his voice with Billy Corgans", but I removed it to see your response. Looks like I was right on track.

I hear that the RAA is going to rule the world in 2011. it's beginning. The local station here is now officially the first commercial radio station to be spinning The RAA in regular rotation. So if you're in Edmonton, REQUEST TORNADO '87 AT SONIC!
