The Wire Portland show mentioned above is at Dante's, which if you are not familiar with Portland, is a tiny bar with a stage, capacity around 200 (400 for MusicfestNW, because, why not?). Granted the venue is too small for them, but it's still a small bar. Ween sold out a 1,500 person venue in a day (so did Mumford & Sons). On a related note, I got my Wire tickets tonight. They'll go quick.

fair enough, I really know nothing about them except they used to be really famous ....in that case modest mouse mouse could headline the last night

Hazards of Love is a brilliant album. I compare it to Pink Floyd the Wall. It is a full story and music experience that blows my mind. I saw them perform it live, every song with no break, and it was incredible. oh cool

If Bassnectar(s) gets a late night slot there is a good chance that the Gorge will collapse in on itself.

I saw Freelance Whales last night. I'm not their #1 fan, but the gig was fun. Tickets were cheap, PBR was on special (of course), and they sounded pretty good. It may have just been the venue, but their stage presence seems to have improved since they played Sasquatch earlier this year. The reason I bring this up is because I ran into the lead singer of the opening band (Pepper Rabbit) at the bar and got to talking to him about their upcoming gigs. Turns out they are hoping to play Sasquatch this year. They don't have the final word on it yet, or at least that's what he told me. They are turning the west coast with Passion Pit for the next few week, and later Ra Ra Riot, in case any of you are going to one of those shows. Pepper Rabbit definitely fits into the whole indie-hipster music scene, much like Freelance Whales. Their sound live was better than what I listened to today on their myspace, but check them out anyway if you want: www.myspace.com/pepperrabbitWho knows, maybe you'll fall in love with them and be able to tell people you were listening to their stuff back in 2010!

Yeah I'm seeing Pepper Rabbit in a couple of days opening for Passion Pit. Never listened to them but I probably should before I see em.

Hey Wolfhat, I was at the Biltmore last night as well... ...and that will likely be the last time I see Freelance Whales. you know, they're okay and I had a good time with my date...but god it was mushy, sappy and just lacked any edge. It sounded like every song they played could have been written about crying over cotton candy, or falling off a teeter todder. The drummer wore a scarf and looked right out of a J Crew catalogue. Anyways, at least pepper rabbit had some potential. I would go see them again if they get a little more direction and focus in their song composition.
