I would love to see a bit more hip hop this year, Kanye would be great! I thought the amount of hip-hop artists booked last year was fairly decent. Last year was my first time attending, but the vibe I got from the crowd didn't really seem like they would embrace seeing an increase in the number of hip-hop acts for this year's festival.

Kanye is a fucking joke... This must be a troll, because at 8:00am on a Monday morning that sounded far too much to my ears like the starting bell of a boxing match. If you're not a troll (a lazy troll), then some helpful advice is to read at least a few pages of posts at really any message board you decide to join before busting onto the scene with a gem like 'Kanye is a fucking joke...'. Or you can get defensive, and... Well, you'd know exactly what would happen then if you'd familiarized yourself with the terrain even a little bit. Anyway, good luck!

The dude criticizes everyone in sight just to get attention and stay in the limelight and thinks he's the greatest rapper to ever live. MANY other great hip hop/rap artists that have more talent and could fit the festival better IMO.

The gap between what is popular and what is actually good is enormous, but Kanye's criticizing and attention grabbing wouldn't land him in the throne that Michael Jackson vacated if he didn't have something pretty incredible going on.
And don't give me shit for comparing Kanye to MJ. The REAL joke is all of the teary-eyed respect Michael Jackson automatically earned when he died, because the day before all of the jokes about insanity and pedophelia and noses were still fair game. The truth is that Kanye is pretty much the biggest thing in the world, and what he does succeeds without any respect for cultural or stylistic boundaries. He's not a 'joke', either you just don't like him or -- more likely -- you jumped on the backlash wagon before seriously considering his output.

The comparison between MJ and Kanye is outrageous. And no... I know exactly what I'm talking about. Kid Cudi last year was a great addition because he was popular but still a lot of people had not yet heard of him. We need more up and coming artists for Sasquatch like that.

Dude, you're a little boy. You don't have the right to respect Michael Jackson as a cultural phenomenon because by the time you were culturally aware he was nothing but a punchline. Your copy of HIStory Disc 1 doesn't mean you know shit about it.
Kanye may be a self-important prick, and I'm sorry he got in front of the cameras while you were jackin' it to Taylor Swift at the VMAs, but at least he's not up on stage waving his arms and going on about good vibes and trust and love and then downing a vial of liquid cocaine on his way through the stage door to some hooker's house where he's going to smash into her house and try to beat her to death.

Anyway, for my money I'll take Busta Rhymes. i concur. regarding other 90s hip-hop, I always loved Black Star... I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that a Mos Def and Talib Kweli reunion is long overdue.
