M83 Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats Four Tet Borns Grimes Major Lazer Disclosure Jamie XX Todd Terje Blind Pilot
Major Lazer surprised the hell out of me. That was one of the best main stage productions ever, and easily the biggest dance party since Girl Talk in 2012.
Honorable mention to King Gizzard, Caribou, Florence + the Machine, Digable Planets, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Wolf Alice, Shannon & the Clams, and Soak.
The Cure was objectively great, but the size of the crowd and the fact that they cut their set 45 minutes short bummed me out more than any set I've ever seen at Sasquatch. I'll never get over that Frightened Rabbit cancellation either. Ugh.

The Cure was objectively great, but the size of the crowd and the fact that they cut their set 45 minutes short bummed me out more than any set I've ever seen at Sasquatch. I'll never get over that Frightened Rabbit cancellation either. Ugh. I seriously cried for about 10 minutes after I realized they weren't coming back out until security started making us leave the floor area. I haven't been that sad in a long time. It wasn't until able halfway though the next day that I remembered how great the rest of the set was and how lucky we were to have seen them at all. 1 hour 45 minutes is still a proper headliner set, we just had our expectations too high from looking at their other shows. Should have known better than to expect that at a festival show, epically one with as notoriously shitty crowds as Sasquatch has. Also, I'm guessing you missed the Frightened Rabbit solo acoustic set in the Toyota tent. It was a nice consolation prize, especially considering I was planning on skipping their main stage set to see Savages anyway.

Yea I never intended on catching the Toyota tent set, and completely forgot about it when the sets started to get cancelled that day.
You're right about The Cure. It was a proper length for a headlining festival set, but I still think they would have played at least another 30 minutes had there been any crowd left at that point. They looked frustrated as people continued to disperse throughout the set, and I think they just said fuck it and ended on that 2nd encore. The fact that Fascination Street and Close To Me were both played at their shows before and after Sasquatch is going to sting for a really long time, as I'm quite certain I'll never get another chance to see them,

Let me ask you sasquatch vets,
Why do you think the Cure set was so slim in attendance? I was at the show for 30 minutes before it got way too cold/windy. Really, after a whole day of cancellations and wind and an upper respiratory infection (yeah I forgot to mention I got sick as soon as I stepped off the plane from Houston to Seattle and spent 3 hours at urgent care getting x rays and such), I just wanted to sleep and not deal with cough.
Also top 10:
1. Todd "Norwegian Dance Machine" Terje 2. Sufjan Stevens 3. Savages 4. Nathaniel Rateliff and Night Sweats 5. Purity Ring 6. Titus Andronicus 7. Grimes 8. BORNS 9. Blind Pilot 10. Alabama Shakes

Why do you think the Cure set was so slim in attendance? I can't tell you how many times I heard people under the age of 30 proclaiming something along the lines of, "The Cure is cool I guess, but there's no way I'm missing Baauer! That set is going to change my life!" Factor in Big Grams' late night set and the overall struggles of Sunday, and you have a recipe for disaster. Bottom line, this wasn't the right festival crowd for The Cure, and even diehard fans weren't going to spend $350+ to see them at the Gorge when they could drive the same distance to see a full headlining show in Vancouver or Portland.

1.Mac DeMarco 2.Shannon and the Clams 3.Four Tet 4.Caribou 5.Kurt Vile 6.Chelsea Wolfe 7.King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard 8.Jamie xx 9.M83 10.Moshe Kasher
I am still devastated I didn't get to see frightened rabbit, but I did get to meet them at the easy street booth where I told them about my dream in which their album "Pedestrian Verse" was a concept album about horses called "Equestrian Verse" and we all went back and forth naming songs from that album with horse titles; I.e. Acts of Horse, Late March Death Trot, The Haypile etc.

Holy shit that was a fun weekend. Stoked I got to see a lot of you. Good to meet you Geno, Pancakes, Gibbons and Pea's wife. Good to see you again Blacksmile, Wonk, Burrito and Pea. I think that was the extent of the boarders I saw this year but that was by far the most for me for a Sasquatch!
1. Chelsea Wolfe 2. Yeasayer 3. Autolux 4. Baroness 5. Ty Segall & The Muggers 6. Unknown Mortal Orchestra
**EDIT** OOPS I FORGOT SAVAGES THEY BELONG HERE AND poop EVERYONE DOWN ONE SORRY CARIBOU
7. M83 8. Vince Staples 9. Vic Mensa 10. Caribou
I saw the first 3 songs in Sufjan and ran up to the start of Chelsea Wolfe. Was planning on watching a few and heading back down for Sufjan but Chelsea put her talons in my buddy and me and we couldn't leave. So amazing. Yeasayer sounded incredible and their setlist was a dream. "2080" and "Sunrise"? Also, "I Am Chemistry" melted my mind and "Silly Me" made me believe I was turning into a gummy bear. Autolux ruled! Burrito got me so fucked up it was perfect. Baroness was a band I had never really listened to and I thought I was going to do a drive by similar to Chelsea Wolfe...but they ruled so hard I couldn't leave. Ty Segall was fucking awesome and I love how he messed with the crowd. UMO shreds like crazy and M83 was magnificent. Vince and Vic were my favorite rap sets of the weekend in a weekend with a lot of good ones. Honorable mention to Cassey Veggies, Digable Planets and Oddisee. FUCK A&AP. I was so exhausted by the time caribou came on that I watched from the side and it was still incredible. AWESOME WEEKEND!!!!
Edit: Did anyone see that girl that was on top of a guys shoulders at Vic Mensa taking selfies? That was so funny, she never realized everyone was laughing at the big screen while they were focusing on her.

Edit: Did anyone see that girl that was on top of a guys shoulders at Vic Mensa taking selfies? That was so funny, she never realized everyone was laughing at the big screen while they were focusing on her. That was frigging hilarious. Vic and Vince both absolutely killed it. The biggest mistake I made all weekend was leaving Vince early to get to the floor for A$AP. After a half hour of waiting, I said fuck it and went up to the Easy Street booth to give Vince props and buy his record. I think Rocky was finally on stage just as I was headed up the hill. Fuck him. More like WhenIFeelLikeIt Rocky, amirite? Re: The Cure, on top of the under 30 crowd not having any taste in music, I think the wind storm and lack of communication take hurt their crowd. I think a lot of people that just came for the Cure either left early or ones who planned on coming just for the day didn't bother driving out because they heard it was cancelled. My corn chip fueled mind was convinced we were going to get the greatest Cure show ever because we kept the faith and believed in Sasquatch magic and the people who left were going to regret it for the rest of their lives. I think that's part of why I was so devastated when we just got a regular festival set. Florence, on the other hand, really brought the magic.

Florence was so wonderful. I'm glad my group pulled away from Caribou for a bit to catch some of her set.

1. Sufjan Stevens (And by #1, I mean this was the best show I've seen at Sasquatch. Ever.) 2. SAVAGES! 3. My man Mac DeMarco 4. Grimes 5. Ty Segall & the Muggers 6. Vic Menza (wow!) 7. Florence and the Machine 8. The Cure 9. Frightened Rabbit (in the tent) 10. Oh Wonder
*I made the decision to leave Autolux to see Frightened Rabbit because I was worried their Main stage set would be cancelled. I made the right decision. That being said, Autolux could have slipped into this list if circumstances were a bit different)
