You do realize that clowns and circuses existed before and independently of ICP and Juggalos, right? Of course, I merely spoke of the first thing that came to mind for me when I watched their promo. Probably could've phrased my sentence better, wasn't meant as an attack, just as a "these are things that I don't understand and therefore won't be spending my time on". Also, I went and got my dictionary and crossed out the word "metal", just because of how much I admire you all. <3 Welcome to the internet, where we are legally obligated to ridicule those who's opinions differ from our own.

I'm having a hard time with this Super Geek League stuff. I have a bunch of friends who are 'circus people' -- not in that they ran off and joined the circus, only in that they wear Beetlejuice pants and wax the tips of their mustaches and they spend all of their mom's money on steampunk goggles and are constantly humping things. The production value of SGL makes it look kinda nifty, but I feel like it's ultimately just going to annoy me. Our Coachella camp contained both of these things, and I think our camp was just fine. OK maybe I'll tone down the humping at Sasquatch. People who wax and curl their mustaches infuriate me more than just about anything else in this life. It is so incredibly fucking stupid.

The debut from Morgan Kibby of M83 as White Sea seems to be picking up some steam since it came out as an exclusive stream on Hype Machine. Sounds like a mix of M83 and HAERTS in my mind. Could be worth swinging by.

Could be worth swinging by. Honest question: can you quantify what you mean by 'picking up some steam'? Does that mean it's being played on the radio, or that your friends are into it, or was it on like a recent episode of Grimm? Or do you just mean that it was reviewed by Pitchfork, or mentioned in the Pitchfork review of a different album? I know it sounds like I'm being condescending, but that's just because I am. A little bit. That's just my thing. Nothing personal. But I'm actually curious.

Who are you guys looking forward to seeing early in the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday? I feel like if I don't get excited about somebody, I may just get too drunk in the campground and show up around 5pm.

Bright Light Social Hour are a cool band. I saw them in Austin a few times and they put on a pretty good show.

Greg is correct. Saturday is the only day that I feel I need to be inside at 1:00 and it's because of Bright Light Social Hour followed by Hobosexual, who should also be a fun time.

Seconded on Bright Light Social Hour and Hobosexual. I also really like Deap Valley, but I saw 'em at Squamish last year so I'll be at the Bigfoot. They're like a baby Heart, hard rocking eighties chicks. (Hey, maybe I do like something about the eighties!)
On Sunday I'm going to be heading in for Little Green Cars, found them when I was making Nick's mix CD actually and I really dig them. And everybody loves Brody Dalle (including Josh Homme...sigh).

I'm really upset about that Brody Dalle / Little Green Cars conflict, because I got introduced to the BELT SANDARRRRRRRR through the mix you gave me but I have loved Brody Dalle for a while. Plus apparently she plays Distillers songs live!!

Yessss. I've been familiarizing myself with The National in the past 2 months, liking it a little more all the time. But that thing that everyone was describing, where you suddenly FALL IN LOVE, just happened for me. Couldn't have come at a better time!

But that thing that everyone was describing, where you suddenly FALL IN LOVE, just happened for me. Couldn't have come at a better time! it just clicks. Now re-listen to everything with that new mindset.
