Yessss. I've been familiarizing myself with The National in the past 2 months, liking it a little more all the time. But that thing that everyone was describing, where you suddenly FALL IN LOVE, just happened for me. Couldn't have come at a better time! Their music really creeps up on you, but once it hits you, it hits hard. It seems like I listen to something from them pretty much every day now.

I remember years ago when I posted on a death metal forum there was a thread titled, "Beautiful Albums," where all of us metalheads could drop our guard and post all of our favorite pieces of music that we found, well, beautiful. Boxer had just come out and someone posted about it in that thread. I gave it a couple of listens and for the life of me couldn't understand what anyone would find appealing, much less beautiful about it. Fast forward to 2010, while I'm doing to my Sasquatch research I stumbled upon Slow Show, and it was all over right there. I'm not sure what happened between 2007 and 2010, but that song instantly became one of my all time favorites and propelled me into total fanboy status. I'm so happy to hear they finally clicked for you Nadine!

So I don't think I'll ever get to see them perform it.

If I paid money for a Chumbawumba show and they didn't play 'Tubthumping' I would encite a riot and burn the place down.

In exactly a week, I will have been driving for 8 hours and will be on the verge of passing out.
Any good ideas on some good, long albums that can keep me up throughout the night? There's only so many times I can listen to Donuts and Good Kid, MAAD City on repeat.

Last night I was going through the lineup again and realized I hadn't really listened to Waxahatchee. My first impression was pretty good. I think I'll have to make my way over to catch part of her set after Banks.

It may help that I have Sirius, but I drove from Oklahoma to Portland by myself on NPR and NFL Talk Radio for 36 straight hours. Stuff keeps you engaged, at least.+
