Hey McFly. I thought I told you never to come in here.

Something about having the times compared by stage on the excel spredsheet is much more useable, and just looks so much better than the sasquatch version imo. I wish i had a laminating machine.

I have a bunch of conflicts, but the biggest ones I expected all along: - The National vs. The Hold Steady (National wins, but maybe I can run over to catch the end of the HS set) - Vampire Weekend vs. Nada Surf (Not the biggest fan of either, but want a decent spot for MMJ so I guess VW wins) - Midlake vs. Local Natives (Local Natives get the nod) - Tegan and Sara vs. The xx vs. Freelance Whales (Probably go with the xx, hoping it will be easier to catch the other two acts close to home) - Pavement vs. Dirty Projectors (Tough call, I might try to do half and half on this one, will be seeing pavement in montreal at osheaga) - Temper Trap vs. Phantogram (Not super into either band, but the Phantogram crowd will be a bit smaller - Passion Pit vs. Dr. Dog vs. Craig Robinson (Dr. Dog should be the easy choice, but man Darryl is pretty darn funny) - She & Him vs. The Mountain Goats vs. Japandroids (Probably the toughest choice for me, I've seen Japandriods once and they were really good, I think the Mountain Goats will win out though, Zooey though...damn) - Band of Horses vs. Camera Obscura (BoH will probably win out, although CO would be a great show too) - MGMT vs. New Pornographers (I saw a bit of MGMT live last year and it sucked, but I know everyone I'm with will want to see them, and maybe congratulations will be better. fuck it new pornographers win.)

Are we going to need a poll to determine the most likely closing song!?! Ha Seriously though, I'm with dontoro in that they can do no wrong. I don't want to know the setlist beforehand, so I can enjoy that little bit of surprise and excitement once every new song starts.

I'm thinking based on the setlists we've seen that it'll be a 'high violet' heavy set. Makes sense as they'd like to promote and hopefully sell a few copies of the record. Hearing anything prior to alligator is unlikely, and that's unfortunate. Still, super excited to see the new songs live.

I like being in the minority though. Especially if a band you want to see is playing at the same time as a better known yet less talented act. Makes for a better crowd in my opinion.

When I saw them play last year in NYC they closed off with Mr.November. It was pouring rain, and Matt went into the crowd to sing the last half of the song. It was a pretty incredible end to the set, to say the least. Can't wait to see what they have in store this time around.

Real beer, although more expensive; gets you way more drunk. That doesn't mean that I'm not picking up a case of miller lite to drink in the hot afternoon sun. Microbrews at night, water-beer during the day. Good combo.

Well, I know Calgary Folk Fest doesn't have camping either...some mystery folk fest then!

Is it wrong to just want to bring a bunch of beer from Quebec, even though I'm Albertan? The Unibroue brewery has some incredible ones in Blanche de Chambly, Fin de Monde, Maudite, etc. Plus they are all available in 750ml bottles, and 8% alc or more!

Space pending I'll bring over some brews from Alberta.

why not just set up some stationary bikes connected to a battery and let festival goers power the stage. yes, that idea is illogical, but it beats an acoustic stage.

How much time does it take to figure out what you want to do? It'll probably take me about ten minutes, tops. You aren't completely pathetic like people such as me. I actually made my own graphs and timings of what times i would go to which stage and what time i would leave that stage and spent probably more than an hour trying to decide how long a stay for a set if there's some sort of conflict where i need to leave early and thing of that nature. Granted, I'd still probably be fine I got the schedule day of. It would just be annoying. Lumpy, I'm in the same boat. I have probably 20 different possible schedules printed out, and have developed a system to help with conflicts, when I should leave stages, etc. It's tough being this anal about organization. I just want to know if there is a chance in hell that I can see entire sets from the National, BSS and the Hold Steady. That is my biggest conflict, and right now National and BSS are winning.

Thanks all, i'll be in touch when I find out more info. It's pretty overwhelming how friendly everyone at this festival seems to be.

That's great guys, i'm coming in from Calgary. Going through Spokane, and west from there. I've got a friend coming from Vancouver who will probably be meeting us around the gorge and that's where it gets troublesome. I think we are hoping to get there close to 2 or 3pm on Friday. When were you both planning on arriving at the gorge? Oh, and even if everything works out, and all 5 of us get in we will meet still have to meet up for a beer.

I've sent two or three e-mails now, asking questions about how camping will be changed around this year, how many people are allowed per car, etc. Have not heard a single thing back, and the first e-mail I sent probably 4 months ago. I haven't heard a peep from those pricks. I NEED to know that I can bring 5 people in one car into Premier camping, or else I need to make other arrangements. I'm hoping that they can't possibly turn the fifth person away when we all show up at the same time. We're trying to carpool, save gas, money, etc. I know a few of you have heard back from livenation regarding these issues. Any chance that you could post their replies here, so everyone has a better idea of what to expect from these bastards. I greatly appreciate any help in advance, and would gladly share a microbrew or two with anyone who can help me figure this out.

Sad Songs is amazing (Cardinal Song, Fashion Coat, Lucky You are all A+). Cherry Tree has a few gems as well. In my opinion Alligator has the most range, and is the most complete. Boxer is the most accessible. I've been streaming the album on the nytimes site, and am going to try to hold off till May 11 so I can avoid the low quality files. This is one of the few bands that I have no issue paying for their music.
