Todd Barry was pissed about the rap going on across from the Banana Shack last year. It was awesome.

More Alaskans! Woohoo! I don't have a ride for you, but when you're at the campgrounds be sure to keep an eye out for the Alaskan flag!

Now, I'm only on year 3 of Squatchin' and with that I'm only 20, but seriously the Gorge is the closest thing I've ever experienced to a lawless wasteland of teenage drinking and partying.
Except, of course, the Talkeetna Bluegrass Festival which was more terrifying than fun...

I don't understand all this hate for the Lumineers. I wish I did, so I could just go see Alt-J with no worries, but I really enjoyed that whole album. Submarines, Classy Girls, and Big Parade are all really pleasant songs to sit in the sun and enjoy... I dunno. I thought their album was a lot better than the new Mumford.

For Friday I would check out Youth Lagoon, he has a very intense and almost personal show. If his sound is good on the yeti stage he should be perfect for twilight hour. The only other recommendations I have is to go to DEATH GRIPS. I haven't seen them live but I hear it is an incredible and violent show...if you are into that sort of thing. That was definitely the direction I was leaning. I keep hearing wonderful things about YL live. The only reason I even have a conflict with Death Grips / Menomena is that I saw Menomena here in Anchorage like 2 years ago at a show with The Antlers and they blew me away.

My Conflicts are bummers, but I feel the choices are obvious ones. I'd love to hear some counterpoints though.
Friday: Arctic Monkeys - Youth Lagoon Macklemore - Baauer (This is more of a toss up because I am not really into either)
Saturday: Michael Kiwanuka - BRMC Andrew Bird - Akron/Family
Sunday: Fang Island - Tallest Man On Earth Radical Face - El-P - Dropkick Murphys Elvis Costello - Baths (yeah, yeah. I know...)
Monday: Death Grips - Menomena Cake - Twin Shadow Lumineers - Alt-J Postal Service - Rusko

Third year Squatchman here, not much of a party guy. Don't skip out on the general camping. You don't have to party, but you're going to want to be in the campgrounds sharing the experience with your friends. You'll meet a lot of cool people in the campground, you probably won't even miss showering (you get really caught up in the festival experience), and you won't be paying extra to be a square (mostly kidding).
I agree with the previous poster who said if general is too much for you this year do Wildhorse next year.

Go to last.fm and it will generally tell you what the genre(s) of each artist is. It can be off on some of the lesser known artists. Such as when it tried to tell me Robert DeLong was Drum and Bass. What is Robert DeLong?

I'm with Stormy. The sweat accumulation that comes with having that wristband is too uncomfortable for me.

I really underestimated the selling power of Mumford and Macklemore. I thought if anything it would taking longer to sell out with those headliners. Unless it is Scalpers. I really didn't think they were that attractive of headliners either, but apparently they've got that mass appeal.
