Hey dudes. So I'm flying up to Washington in October to go to the Okanogan Family Fair up near Tonasket. If you've never heard of it you should look it up and consider going. It's like being at the Sasquatch campground, except more drum circles and hemp necklaces, and less EDM (although you will hear all types of music as the event attracts people from all ends of the spectrum). It's not a music festival, but more of a gathering with lots of interesting and fun people. Check it out, it's basically a weekend of good times and total freedom.

I saw the Cure in the rain at ACL as well and it was by far my favorite set that weekend. I left ACL wondering if I would ever get the chance to see them again. Now I have the chance to see them again, at my favorite venue, and it's killing me that I might not be able to go. Were you that guy that kept asking to share my wizard pipe? I ended up losing that one to someone. Best pipe ever. Not me, but sorry for your loss.

But actually for serious how are the Cure live? I skipped their set last time oops. I saw the Cure in the rain at ACL as well and it was by far my favorite set that weekend. I left ACL wondering if I would ever get the chance to see them again. Now I have the chance to see them again, at my favorite venue, and it's killing me that I might not be able to go.

Thanks to Stormy I have stumbled my way here. I have been listening to Black Star and shedding tears all day. What a beautiful piece of art.

Well, if YOU don't come to Sasquatch, then your sister probably won't be there. And if your sister isn't there, then Gibbons won't be there. And that will ruin Sasquatch for me. So I'm sorry, but you're just going to have to work it out. She's got to be like 36 now, right? 36...22...it's all the same.

Dude, I was all liquored up and ready to go the other night. Then I saw the ticket price and added in a plane ticket, beer, and all of the etc. It'll cost me like $1000 just to get in the gate. My alcohol fueled excitement came to a halt really quick.

Da fuck's going on around here? The Cure and My Morning Jacket? If I had an alley this lineup would already be all up in it. I might have to make the trip, it has been way too long. Reunited and it feels so good?
Edit: I was drunk when I posted this. I apologize for posting dumb shit in the thread that is meant to remain free of dumb shit. It has been a while.

The National - Trouble Will Find Me
This album has been growing on me very intensely. Some of the lyrics hit very close to home and I love that Matt is experimenting more with his voice.
The second half of the album is stronger than the first half--my favorite song is probably Pink Rabbits. My favorite album is still Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers but this one is a great addition to the collection. Another dreary album that will most certainly drive my wife crazy after I overplay it a thousand times at 3am.
Matt doesn't disappoint with the great lyrics once again:
"Oh, everyday I start so great, then the sunlight dims. Less I've learned, the more I see the pythons and the limbs. Do not know what's wrong with me, sours in the cup. When I walk into a room I do not light it up. Fuck."
"As the free-fall advances, I'm the moron who dances. I was teething on roses, I was in guns and noses"
"Remember when you lost your shit and drove the car into the garden, and you got out and said I’m sorry to the vines and no one saw it? I need my girl. I need my girl."
So good!
Did anyone catch them when they were on Colbert? The interview with Matt was probably one of the most awkward interviews I have ever seen.

I'm going to soft rock out to Lionel Richie so hard.
I have not seen these bats that you speak of so this must happen while we are there.

More people = more revenue. If Sasquatch is going to attempt to compete with other festivals they're simply going to have to charge more. Sasquatch will always have roughly 30,000 people. Every other festival on earth is able to expand year after year. I have been saying it for a couple years now but the Gorge should turn the old parking lot area that barely gets used into another stage area. I know you won't have the beautiful view but they could put a huge stage over there. They would have to reconfigure the main gate somehow though.

That undercard sure dissipates into obscurity pretty fast, but overall that looks like it will be a great time! Depeche Mode and The Cure alone would bring me down if I could afford it. Yeah, the undercard gets a little overwhelming to read after a bit. The bottom turns into a Christian festival. I am super happy with the top though. No Cloud Cult? They were either fucking with me or they really are coming to Texas in October but aren't playing ACL.
