Sorry if this is a repeat, but I don't feel like reading through all 6 pages. Has anyone done the VIP package and was it worth it? I've gone VIP at Bonnaroo and 10KLF and it was worth it, just wondering if I spent my money well. Thanks. It's really varies per person. This year, they've done away with the food (it's extra) and have a weird clause in the package that you can be bounced from the VIP area if a band is in it already. Last year, there were celebs mingling with us ordinary folks in the VIP without issue so I'm not sure why the change. I purchased the VIP package in 2007 and 2008 and liked it.

Ah, ok, I'm not sure why I thought it was going to be different than the other fests. We went ahead and got general camping tickets. Anyone know anything about the wristbands that were used last year? Or do they even use wristbands? Last year I saw a lot of the bands walking around with cloth wristbands, so the cloth wristbands may be used as backstage passes. cloth wristbands are also used for the VIP package.

that's much different than the last two years...
It was a standard instant purchase. In 2007, I picked up everything at Will Call. Last year, it was mailed FedEx.
Weird.

So I got an email from a LiveNation rep about their VIP package and I told the guy I really didn't like 2 of the 3 headliners and I'd never heard of Kings of Leon.
his reply
the hard sell but honest to god, I still have no idea who they are.

In 2008 I used www.AlterNetRides.com and Craigslist to organize a big rideshare from Seattle. When I flew into Seattle that week I picked up the biggest rental possible (a Ford Expedition) and on Saturday morning, had complete strangers meet me outside my hotel The Red Lion on 5th and Pike. STRANGELY ENOUGH, I made great friends in the process. 2 Canadians, 2 Aussies, and one Alaskan. The 7 us (including my girlfriend) had a great ride with great conversation. Mind you, we'd never met before and in some cases, hadn't even spoken on the phone. Would they be crazy? Would it become a massive disaster? No one knew. But it was grand. I snuck them into Premiere Camping with me, we shared food, each morning we'd update the group on the previous day's craziness. The ride back to Seattle was incredible, lots of laughing and recounting top musical moments, we spent some time at Pike's Place, and almost a year later, we still talk. No money was expected for petro but as we were packing up in the campground, money was offered. That's Sasquatch love. So yes, it's possible you won't make lifelong friends but I think the odds are in your favour. Go with an open mind and see what happens. ;D

I have to admit, I have no idea who Kings of Leon are. The name doesn't even ring a bell. Going back over the history of Sasquatch and headliners, first time ever.

It kind of sounds like the VIP package is for losers. So there's that to consider. It's called Gold and Platinum for a reason ssss ;D

There was some strange wording in this year's VIP package, something about the VIP area may not be open if there are vands alread inside of it. Strangeeeee.
There's also a Platinum package. I don't remember if that package was available last year.

There's a Platinum VIP package available this year (an upgrade from the Gold VIP package) which includes housing I believe. You may want to check into that.

Sasquatch is all about the undercard and discovering new music. BUT it certainly helps if you have great headliners too.
Fleet Foxes, whom I love, were kinda ass last year (played the same songs for both sets), hopefully they bring some excitement. It was like hearing the Total Experience Gospel Choir in 2007 except not as moving.

Headliners aren't that good at all but
TV On The Radio (heard cocerns about their live sets) Peter Bjorn and John (good times) of Montreal (new album sucks so play old stuff) The Doves (Brit pop/Dream pop at its finest)
As long as Ben Harper plays Faded.
I give this year's lineup a C-

I read it was a different MIA, like an 80's reunion band......... Regardless, I was making a bad assumption, because I wanted to get people to stop bringing up No Doubt as a possible headliner. Shame on me.......... I have no doubt, (Pun!!!) that No Doubt won't be on that line-up tomorrow. They absolutely do not fit the Sasquatch! mold as I've said before. If it does happen, then I guess I'm just a big moron. You're probably right about MIA, I just used Wiki. No worries about No Doubt, I don't think you're being a moron. No one (I hope so anyway) is looking forward to seeing No Doubt in the line-up.

Will someone humor me and name one band that has crossed-over from Warped Tour to Sasquatch? MIA and Beck?

NIN is an amazing live band, the Lights in the Sky show is one of the most inventive things I've ever seen or worked. I guess there should be a distinction between a band that has great music and a band that is great live. I don't think the two are always connected. There are a handful of NIN songs that are really popular, so if they're amazing live, that might be enough to win over nonfans.
