Time to get this party started.
Big thing is that with the money saved moving out of PT, I'm going to lightly speculate a slightly larger festival. Wishful thinking? Yes. We'll see what ends up happening! I'm going to lightly put Interpol as they appear active in 2024 and have not announced any West Coast spots. Europe tour ends in June with the Summer wide open.
Confirmed
Possible Ethel Cain Janelle Monae
Bikini Kill (Seattle Gap) Todd Rundgren (Tour Dates) Khruangbin (Tour Dates)
Available
Interpol (Tour Dates) Beach Boys
Fantasy
Pulp (This will not happen) Blur Oasis Reunion
Deconfirmed
Ween LCD Soundsystem Goth Babe Shannon and the Clams

Not to be a party pooper, but I don't see how Alvvays' tour dates make them likely. Their North American dates end in the middle of May, and, while we don't know when Thing's potential dates would be, I don't think it would be that early in the year. And sure, they're skipping the PNW on this leg, but they've already played Seattle twice in support of Blue Rev. They're a fun live band, and I'd enjoy seeing them at Thing, but I don't think their currently-announced dates give any indication they'd be there. Am I missing something you noticed?

Same goes for Interpol, by the way. I don't see anything that would rule them out, but I also don't see an indication they would be there. They're playing two American festivals in May (in Atlanta and Salt Lake City) and are in Europe through June. I don't think that means anything for Thing?

I think we (me?) are fully in the rampant speculation, grasping at any possible straws stage this far out. Pretty much any band with a heartbeat that is in North America in 2024 and isn't booked in August is open. I'll be stalking AZ's Instagram stories for whatever tunes he is pinged on to, only other good source

Waxahatchee announced a tour today with 41 dates in North America, but nothing in Seattle, Portland, or Vancouver. Still no idea if Thing will happen in Carnation or in any fashion, but it's odd she wouldn't visit this part of the country.

Would seem to say that if she is at THING, it is happening earlier this year, probably 8/16-8/18 as she is in Boise on the 19th after a gap.

Adding to my speculation, Mitski is skipping Seattle and is open during traditional THING time.

Adding to my speculation, Mitski is skipping Seattle and is open during traditional THING time. I agree it's weird Mitski is so far skipping Seattle, but she's playing the Moda Center in Portland, which is about a 15,000 capacity venue (for end stage). When I saw the announcement, I assumed it would be a "Theater of the Clouds" show (capacity ~6,500), but I see no indication that it is. That's a much larger venue than Edgefield (capacity ~7000), that Sylvan Esso, Thundercat, and Cigarettes After Sex played last year (and I think only CAS sold out).

Mitski playing Moda Center is WILD. Looking at other festival bookings (Primavera) she is preeeeetty high up on posters. The tour dates are extremely suspicious of something happening in Washington around Thing.

Ween playing Seattle early August is painful. Unless there's a 2018 Byrne situation, (not happening), those boys are OUT.
Side note, see y'all at the WEEN presale 1/17.

Adrianne Lenker is out as she plays the Paramount on 6/22. Interestingly, she is touring up the West Coast with Twain, doesn't bring him with her to Seattle, and then picks up with him again for the very next show. Twain would fit the vibe and that seems like a rather odd move.

Todd Rundgren is suspiciously ending his tour in Portland, with no stop in Seattle. This would fit very nicely in the slot that Sparks filled in '22. www.todd-rundgren.com/tr-tour.html
