I congratulate Pete Carroll for taking the blame. However, 98% of Seahawks fans don't understand football, and the media blowing up the bad play call story didn't help. You end up with thousands of, "Tell me what to like, tell me what to think," fans blaming Carroll for not giving the ball to Marshawn, because they are convinced Marshawn can fall out of bed and gain two yards. There are people a lot smarter than media and fairweather Seahawks fans who make football decisions. I'm not one of them, but I can tell you what happend.
Second and goal at the one. 28 seconds left. The Seahawks have one time out. They have three plays left and have to throw once, to ensure they don't have to spike the ball to stop the clock, or get forced into hurry up panic mode. Everyone thinks that Marshawn can back flip into the end zone from the one to win the game, because most of them don't understand a sell out goaline blitz, where 11 guys are focused on stopping one guy. That's why Carroll called the pass play. The defense was in sell out mode, and the Seahawks needed to throw the ball once anyway. If you've ever played Madden, you understand clock management.
Now Belichick decided not to take a timeout when Lynch got the ball to the one with a minute left on first and goal (after the fourth greatest Super Bowl catch of all time). I couldn't understand this, Seattle was going to score, NE would have almost a minute left to get a FG to tie the game. I think Belichick didn't call a time out to force the Seahawks to throw the ball once. Then they pretended to play sell out goaline blitz, and the kid made the play of his career.
Why not give props to Belichick and the DB who made the play of his life. Carroll didn't lose the game because he didn't give the ball to Marshawn. I think he lost the game because he got outcoached.

For the first time maybe ever, I agree with Wonk. As confused as I was about the play call initially, I did come to understand the reasoning behind it later. As difficult as it is to give Belichick credit for anything, he knew exactly what he was doing by not calling the timeout and what it would force the Hawks to do. As good of a play as it was for Butler, and as much as it pains me to do it, I have to place most of the blame for the interception on Wilson. In that situation, you have to put the ball where your guy can get it or nobody can. If it's not a guaranteed catch, you throw it out of the back of the end zone. Instead, he threw it right into the middle of a crowd and gave Butler the opportunity to (illegally?) push Kearse out of the way and steal the game. Regardless of who gets the blame or the credit, the ball had no business being in the air in that exact spot.

I think he lost the game because he got outcoached. 2 things: -They weren't in a "goal line" defense, they had 3 corners on the field. It was a hybrid and the Hawks misread it -They threw a slant pass, into traffic, to their 4th ( ) best receiver. I get the decision to throw a pass, I will never understand the decision to throw that pass. I don't disagree with calling out everyone for blowing up about it being the worst play of all time. It still was a poor decision.

Regardless of who gets the blame or the credit, the ball had no business being in the air in that exact spot. buncha thoughts: - Wilson probably deserves the 4th most blame for the play. Kearse is first for just giving up when it came to blocking Browner, Lockette 2nd for thinking he was about to win the Super Bowl and not trying, Bevell for being dumb, Russ for throwing a bad pass. I'm not remotely absolving Russell, but there seems to be a push to declare that the worst throw ever which isn't fair. It was like a foot too high. Not where he wanted it but it wasn't a catastrophe -Butler's play was totally legal, defenders have as much right to the ball as receivers do. He didn't interfere with Lockette, he made a play on the ball. -If Butler doesn't make that play, Belichick gets crucified for not calling that time out. It's easy to celebrate the decision because it worked but it's the wrong decision 95% of the time.

Some piece of shit hit and run our beautiful, 2 month old car while it was parked outside of our house today. Thanks for putting that piece of car you broke off on the hood. Go fuck yourself for not leaving a note, but retracting the mirrors on all of the other vehicles on the street so you wouldn't do it to another car.
FUCK. YOU. VERY. MUCH.
Asshole.
